Just a quick enquiry if you have to do multiple coats on trim how do you set it out I’ve always been told to remove masking while paint is still wet but surly it wouldn’t be good practice to re mask ever coat but you don’t want to pull paint off if you’ve left masking on after second or third coat is there a right way to do it buddy

sorry for late reply. How i do it is. Try and remove masking straight after paint as if it dries it can lift the paint. or if you are leaving it you might need to cut the masking lines. the bonus is you can apply wet on wet. or atlease coat up alot in one day compared to if you taped and brushed. so always better to go for a couple of coats unless you know you can get the right thickness in one coat. i generally will give a quick dust coat as a first coat as it dries fast and then a normal second coat.

If you use the right tape in the right masking paper you shouldn't have to remove the masking until all Coats are finished

Hi having problems with my 9.5 setup just cant pull any material through have you ever had any problems like this ? the machine is spotless and ive changed the needles and thinned paint ,, helmi 30 but nothing ???

Have you watched my quick start set up? In my videos.
When you pull the trigger is air coming through?
Which gun do you have, flexi or metal cup?
Valve on the air hose open?
If its the flexi gun and you have paint in the pot, watch the pot when you pull the trigger. If the flexi cup doesnt compress and squeeze in then there must be an air leak which is stopping the cup from sealing and allowing the cup to compress

Is the needle seated correctly also? If you pull does it go in and out?

Hi, what materials will you be spraying . Oil based gloss, ware based finishes or will you spray solvents, pre cats etc?
What can this unit handle ? Oil paints need too much thinning do they not ? So thin that it's pretty useless no.
Solvents will spray and dry fast enough to hit a few coats. I ve got a three stage unit for solvents but thinking the new FFLP tips and my airless will be better for gloss ( oil based ) what's your thoughts. Ta

Steven Mcfarlane hi mate. well a 3 stage is usuallt around 6psi. 4 stages are about 9psi. and 5 stage like this unit are 9.5psi. so its alot more powerful and generally no more than 10% dilution needed. the machines is good enough to spray it all. however i dont knoe if the gun would do pre cat etc as its the new plastic liners so not sure if harder chemicals would impact on that. guess it wouldnt as it only sits in a disposable liner.. worth checking. i spray waterbased. and oils. waterbased obviously dries in a faster time than oil so cam be re coated quicker. re coating too fast with oils could possible impact the finish. i will be using pre cats etc shortly. will be using this machine but i have quite a few guns so would use a different one for that. i have ones for waterbased
      oil and spares.
i love the fflp tips as you can see in my other videos. they are great and a brilliant finish. hvlp is very versatile and can tune paibt down very low and minimal overspray and very fine finish. you can gey a great finish with airless no doubt but #hvlp has its place. i use it alot as its not always about speed . thanks for watching

have you determined if the new fan adjustment on the front of the gun is worth the new upgrade ?
Being able to reduce the fan size without having the fluid reduced has its advantages
The old gun reduced fluid amount while also reducing fan size

Nice unit have you used the pressure pot with it? Or will that only work with the other version is it the pro comp?

Ive used one and i think they are a great addition. Im looking into getting one now. Youd need an additional connection if its with the edge 2 gun and a non graco pot.

Hi si. You know what, the more i delve into getting setup with AAA the more of a rabbit hole it becomes? So...... for the amount of use it’ll get from me doesn’t stack up really in terms of money invested. These little HVLP systems seem to fit the bill for me, im thinking of actually purchasing this model but just a couple of questions if you didn’t mind?
How much do you have to mess about with easing products to get it setup nice? Also are they tricky in getting it setup to spray? Sorry for all the silly questions, but you seem to be a dab hand with everything spraying. Cheers dude
    James

Hey thanks for watching. If you check out some of my newer videos you'll see me set it up and spray. They can be a little fiddly to start but simple when you learn about the machine. I wanted AAA when i started but was the same as you. Airless with fine finish tips can give a great finish

What setup would you suggest for straying upvc doors and frames?

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You can use a turbine system like this unit. The more power you have the less thinning.
Alot of guys use a compressor system too.
