NFG stays relevant due to us millennials who have been following them for over two decades. Keeping the same sound but also keeping it fresh. They’re my favorite forever and ever.
Hell yeah, favorite band since forever. Started listening to them back in the very early 2000's (found them on Napster somehow, but I can't remember how). They weren't well known in Sweden at all, I only knew one other guy who listened to them back then. One of my favorite songs is Broken Sound :D
I love that Jordan treats the cruise like a vacation to and hes not just there to work and play a set. Hes there to hang out and have fun. Man i wish i could get tickets somehow.
I absolutely love jordan & new found glory. I was tattooed by him back in April, best 2 hours of my life 🫠 I got to sit face to face with him just chatting it up.. they are all really cool down to earth guys!!
I've been an NFG fan since Nothing Gold Can Stay, so this was an amazing podcast to listen to. I have a picture of us with them from a show in Bakersfield around the time their self titled album came out. Really enjoying the podcast. Every episode so far has been great, keep up the good work.
As someone who grew up in a pretty small town in SW Wisconsin, and now lives in a small town in NE Iowa...I feel like that whole meditative experience you guys talked about, is just what life is like in small-town midwest. Hearing the birds, being in nature, just a slower pace of life. Being around kind-hearted, helpful people. It's kind of a spiritual experience. I call my weekly Sunday long runs on the gravel roads in the bluffs and valleys of the driftless region, "God's Country." If you ever want to have that experience all the time, live in small-town midwest!
Every time I listen to these podcasts it brings up such great memories and brings bands I completely forgot about back up and I binge them again. Keep it up!
I'm 37 from nj and remember seeing nfg for the first time in 2000 at a vfw hall. They have remained one of my favorite bands after all these years. Never disappoint. Nj is also the undisputed king of the scene back in the day with all the sick bands!
I remember NFG coming to play in Iowa City and the band came to check out the line that was waiting for the show to start and they looked so giddy. It was awesome. You could tell that they truely enjoy what they do and the appreciation they have for the fans
And here I am, a 38 year old father sitting in front of my computer in my man cave in Sweden hearing my biggest idol talking about A-Teens (used to be called Abba Teens but had to change the name due to copyright stuff) :D That blew my mind! This interview was so incredibly good, felt more like 10 minutes than over an hour! I've never had the chance to see NFG live yet, but I'm hoping that they will play Slam Dunk UK 2024, then I'll finally get to see them :)
I cant wait to see NFG at When We Were Young! I saw them once on the snow at a Boarding for Breat Cacner event at Sierra at Tahoe. and got to say hi, epic day!
If you ever wonder about NFG importante in the scene, just remember that All Time Low and The Story So Far are bands named after NFG's songs. This is huge! By the way the song story so far is beautiful
2 dudes that both understand the song setup and build to make perfect pop punk emo songs. So psyched on you guys! These bands saved my life! Hopefully see you on the cruise!
Big fan of NFG, so cool to hear from Jordan! Loved the Gabe Saporta/Midtown shoutouts. Wish I could’ve seen NFG on the cruise, but I’m gonna see them 3 times this year-so pumped!
These interviews are gold - full of nostalgic info. His first ‘concert’ was Nirvana with the Breeders as the opener. I saw this tour in Atlanta…fucking incredible experience.
@@EmosNotDead maybe a snoop and nfg collab will happen if I wish hard enough... if only I knew of a source that could manifest such creation. I'm sure there are days when snoop feels Emo and Jordan has to remind him to keep on, keeping on
I can still remember when I first listened to NFG. Hit or Miss was the first song but it was from the self titled album in 2000. Blink was was the primary pop punk band I was listening to at the time and then NFG! Been a fan all these years and have probably seen them live a dozen times or more! Will be seeing them twice this year!!
Cruise Tickets! I would love nothing more than to surprise my fiancé on our wedding day ( July 8, 2023 ) with these tickets. Our obsession with E.N.D. & all the bands on the cruise is PEAK ELDER EMO! We’re even gonna try to get tattooed by Jordan for our wedding rings ! Please make our emo dreams come true 🥲🖤
My partner and I are both teachers. We love introducing our students (4th and 6th grade) to this music. We love our students, but wouldn't hate a break from them to go on a cruise. Lol.
Matt, I totally feel your pain with the homeschooling. I was in private school until 5th grade, homeschooled for 6th and 7th, and then was thrown into public middle school in 8th grade. It could have been way worse, but I wish I had been better socially prepared.
I loved the talk about diverse genres, I think that's one thing I appreciated a lot about Warped Tour, like you could go there and they would have Suicide Silence and Never Shout Never playing on the same tour, like just complete opposite sounds but somehow it made complete sense.
Great episode. Loved hearing from Jordan. {Please pick me for the 2024 cruise. I’d be celebrating 20 years of friendship with my bff who I met in rehab. Emo music is a huge part of our journey together. 🖤🖤🖤}
Some things I'm curious about with all these bands, like what it was like when the popularity finally faded, how did they take it, what did they do, and what do they do today for a living, do they stay in the business somehow or live off the money or get a regular job etc... Almost like a VH1 special that never happened lol
Just wanted to echo Jordans sentiment on seeing a variety of genres and bands play together. As I've gotten older my respect and love for things have grown so much that I can't believe I went through phases of JUST METAL and all that arrogance. Much love dudes
I agree about the music thing and not discovering new stuff. Turned into my mom who just listens to hair bands till this day so I made it a point to listen to some new stuff for me. Found movements and can’t swim.
I remember seeing NFG on one of the smaller stages at the 2000 warped tour in Minneapolis, this was before the re- release of nothing gold can stay on Eulogy with all the movie clip intros and being right up front screaming Every word! I've thankfully seen them probably a dozen times over the years and specifically that tour with Face to Face, Alk3, saves the day at First Ave and talking to the guys at the merch table and showing off my NFG cherub in the star tattoo and got a free t shirt for supporting them. Such humble dudes! I think i had maybe 5 tattoos at the time , a lifetime and Full sleeves later and I think it would be Rad after 23 showing that NFG tattoo to the guys again!!
NFG stays relevant due to us millennials who have been following them for over two decades. Keeping the same sound but also keeping it fresh. They’re my favorite forever and ever.
Same. Favourite band since 200.. 4? I think?
Hell yeah, favorite band since forever. Started listening to them back in the very early 2000's (found them on Napster somehow, but I can't remember how). They weren't well known in Sweden at all, I only knew one other guy who listened to them back then. One of my favorite songs is Broken Sound :D
Nfg would like to thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
Well said!!
They have a younger audience too! Which is good for keeping pop punk solid. We are losing Sum 41 somewhat soon :(
I love that Jordan treats the cruise like a vacation to and hes not just there to work and play a set. Hes there to hang out and have fun. Man i wish i could get tickets somehow.
Longest interview with Jordan on youtube by far. Legend.
Right? It's so rare to hear him speak for extended periods of time, this was great.
Great interview, Jordan comes off as super friendly and genuine. Also, love hearing bands talking about other bands.
finally someone touched on that "teenage wrist" naming. Love these guys, love Jordan!
Thanks, guys!
Jordan is such a unique voice in this genre and I’ll love him forever. 🖤
NFG are my Pop punk kings! Thank you Jordan for doing the 4 hour drive. Would love to enter to win.
I absolutely love jordan & new found glory. I was tattooed by him back in April, best 2 hours of my life 🫠 I got to sit face to face with him just chatting it up.. they are all really cool down to earth guys!!
I just love how this genre - the bands and the fans - are one giant rad family. It's my favorite 🖤

Sum 41 & NFG Australian Tour was the first big show I went to, completely changed my life
Every time I listen to these podcasts it brings up such great memories and brings bands I completely forgot about back up and I binge them again. Keep it up!
Their new stuff is great. I loved nfg as a kid. Now I love their newer stuff.
Awesome job once again guys!! Awesome getting Jordan on the pod!! Love it!! 🤘🏻💯

Did you ever attend an early Thursday show?
I remember NFG coming to play in Iowa City and the band came to check out the line that was waiting for the show to start and they looked so giddy. It was awesome. You could tell that they truely enjoy what they do and the appreciation they have for the fans

Best podcast episode so far!! I even went and checked out the artists Jordan recommended, and I love the Red Light Kisser song!
Seen new found twice met them the second time such cool dudes. Been rocking to them since 03 and have been my top pop punk band of all time.
This was the best podcast so far. Love NFG and everything about them.

Hey really rad episode, man. Always crazy to talk to a vet like Jordan about all these crazy little experiences from 20+ years back. ❤

I'd love to see Shane Told of Silverstein or Ryan Key of Yellowcard at some point!
2 dudes that both understand the song setup and build to make perfect pop punk emo songs. So psyched on you guys! These bands saved my life! Hopefully see you on the cruise!
This is a great podcast I didn't know I needed! Looking forward to seeing who you have next :D
Starting college soon but would really like to go! It be even better if I could play some songs on acoustic lol
I first learned about Straight Edge through NFG. Almost 20 years later we're still here representing the X.
That SoCo FSF Finch tour was my first rock show. MB HOB. SO. DAMN. GOOD.
I love Snoop, thats my Boy! Met him backstage at Projeckt Revolution in 2004 I believe. Awesome Times..
This is my entry to the wonderful cruise that I missed a cabin in. First year was awesome and I hope to get another chance! Love you guys!
I wish I could have seen all these great band you spoke of back in the day
Big fan of NFG, so cool to hear from Jordan! Loved the Gabe Saporta/Midtown shoutouts. Wish I could’ve seen NFG on the cruise, but I’m gonna see them 3 times this year-so pumped!

SNOOP SINGING NFG IS SUCH A LEGENDARY MOMENT. what I would give to have been there

@@EmosNotDead maybe a snoop and nfg collab will happen if I wish hard enough... if only I knew of a source that could manifest such creation. I'm sure there are days when snoop feels Emo and Jordan has to remind him to keep on, keeping on
Should have Jordan be a special guest tattoo artist on the cruise if available. I would officially get my first tattoo if that was the case!
Dude that would be so sick!
I would love to be on the next cruise!!!! first one was epic!
Also, great episode. So fun to hear these stories from when I would have first gotten into the scene.
I can still remember when I first listened to NFG. Hit or Miss was the first song but it was from the self titled album in 2000. I was onstage at Warped tour with NFG ounce and it was a dream come true!
NFG was my first show in 2000. I was 14 and they were with Teen Idols, less than jake and anti flag. What a great first show.
I love this show, great episode!!! I would love to go on the cruise!
My partner and I are both teachers. We love introducing our students (4th and 6th grade) to this music. We love our students, but wouldn't hate a break from them to go on a cruise. Lol.
I completely forgot about the band Bayside. Thanks for the name drop Jordan. I saw them at Warped Tour in Detroit.
When is END gonna organize a tour…and are they awesome enough to come to east coast Canada?
If I could win this cruise things would get better
We could leave this town and run forever 🖤🎶🖤🎶
NFG still goated after all of these years, never stop!
Love Jordan! Blink-182 New found Glory and alkaline trio are my favs
I never knew Jordan sang on “Cat Like Thief” on Boxcar Racer’s album 🤯
seen NFG 37 times in the last 8 years, some say i have a problem, some say its just to see Ian take his shirt off. Great interview!
I really love this podcast, I love new found glory and Jordan!!
I remember seeing NFG and Blink together at the take off your pants and jacket tour. love hearing him talk about that
I've been listening to NFG since Eulogy records. My half brother told me about them in FL. They were called A New Found Glory back then.
As a veteran and elder emo. I want to go on the cruise so so so bad!!!!
Matt, I totally feel your pain with the homeschooling. I was in private school until 5th grade, homeschooled for 6th and 7th, and then was thrown into public middle school in 8th grade. It could have been way worse, but I wish I had been better socially prepared.
Great interview! Love Jordan
Loved watching you interact with each other:) I also loved your other podcast with Ariel, Riled up.. thanks for sharing!
I want a tattoo by Jordan! I promise I won't pass out! 😁

Glad you did a podcast with Jordan. Red light kisser was awesome.

I feel like those podcast could last 2h, always good stories to bring to the table, maybe more fan questions would be nice as well
Great episode. Loved hearing from Jordan. {Please pick me for the 2024 cruise. I’d be celebrating 20 years of friendship with my bff who I met in rehab. Emo music is a huge part of our journey together. 🖤🖤🖤}

Great podcast. Love the discussion about coming up from their first label. Matt can I get your autograph?
Wild how these guys can be such a huge influence and we never get to know them. Thanks for this. #CommentCruise
Just wanted to echo Jordans sentiment on seeing a variety of genres and bands play together. As I've gotten older my respect and love for things have grown so much that I can't believe I went through phases of JUST METAL and all that arrogance. Much love dudes
I really feel you J... I remember being a purist punk rock snob back in my teenage year.. Have a good one bud!
I agree about the music thing and not discovering new stuff. Turned into my mom who just listens to hair bands till this day so I made it a point to listen to some new stuff for me. Found movements and can’t swim.
