      I have a pair of BC-611 but no legal crystals for 80 m Ham band, 3885khz yes but slightly out of our boundaries in Finland,

    A good book to read about the Galvin Mfg. Company and Motorola is called "The Founders Touch".

    Actually Motorola was called Galvin mfg. co. back then, It only became Motorola in 1947.

    Man these things are awesome,I'm gonna get me one sometime,they are not super easy to find but not hard either,Ive had the opportunity before to buy one but it just didn't happen, nice to see a video of someone thats into WW2 ,WW2 is my life basically,lol, i must have a thousand books on it, never ending, always finding new stuff, subject. how much would you give for one of these Handie Talkies in so so condition? just trying to get a idea of a price in case i find one here soon, thank you for your time and the video!!!

      If you're looking for a static display, you can expect to spend $150 or so on the BC-611 shell alone. If you want a working unit, you can expect to spend $350-400 for an untested unit (batteries not included). You will need a General or above radio license to operate on the 80meter band. It's harder to find BC-611's setup with crystal, coils for 3.6-4.0MHz in this allowed band.

    Well that was disappointing. I was expecting much longer range. On Hogan's heroes they were like communicating with subs and shit.
