    Mrs Nostalgic Plastic here. I'm actually not disappointed too much that the box is empty. It's a lovely bit of artwork. Seller sold in good faith, so I'm not angry for £2.40.
    I've bet Barry I can find the bits to go in it; I'm good at finding stuff.

    FROG released a Meteor kit roughly round about the same time as the Airfix kit. But I think it was a later version of the Meteor.

    I built a deep frame for an old airfix box and have it on the wall. These old boxes are beautiful pieces of art.

    Had the same thing from a Charity shop purchase many years ago. Since then I ask them to open the box for a quick look ,most agree if you tell them you will buy it if complete.

    The clue was in the price. £2.40. When buying from ebay, I always check the contents as soon as possible after receiving the kit and always recheck the listing details. If it was an oversight by the seller or if it was a bit of mischief then ebay will refund you. Maybe not worth it in this case as this was a class sample of Roy Cross artwork.

    Hello. I know the feeling. Finally found an old Airfix refueling set from ebay. Empty sprues and a few of the figures in the box. Gutted.

  • @Chilly_Billy

    If this was described as anything but a box with a few empty sprues and a canopy, ebay will refund your money. Admittedly it isn't much but the seller shouldn't be rewarded in even the smallest way.

    It was the stealth Meteor. I built that kit back in the 1970's and it was pretty nice...

      Me too. Great until you put it down & then couldn't find it again. Mine disappeared in 1978...

    Nasty trick. I thought ebay had put a stop to that sort of racket? I very, very rarely buy anything from them any more

    Too bad, so sad. You have been ripped off. You should have complained to the seller and demanded a refund. A box of junk parts is not worth it, mate. The seller should be concerned with their reputation or called out as a thief, simple as that. eBay does not need thieves ripping off clients.

    Very nice unboxing. Too bad the kit is not complete. I have never seen this model. Greetings, Aleš 🙂👍

    On the plus side, you've got a nice early red stripe box with nice art, presumably by Ron Jobson or Roy Cross. It's worth keeping just for that.

    You’ve been fleabayed 😅 looks like it was the box alone that was being sold for the box art….so many do this on eBay sell box art only , have to pay close attention to the description on items being sold these days.

    I've had experience of this and know how frustrating it is. As a consolation, I will hit the subscribe and check your channel out. I took my first steps into modelling with an Airfix 'Baggy'. Back then it was mainly a choice between Airfix and Tamiya, couldn't afford Tamiya, as my paper round was not long enough!.

      @nickbutler7935 they were hit and miss but I quite liked them. Did a Shackleton a few years ago which was a struggle. Used to be a model shop in West Drayton that did Frogs. I remember it was a long walk with my pocket money to see what I could get there. Made a change from Woolies and their Airfixs.

    My mum bought me a FROG kit once, of I think a Lysander, in the 1960's
    The box felt really light and when I opened it there was only the stand 😢
    Put me off FROG for ever 😠
    I'm sure the Airfix Meteor I had was a different mark than this one ??

  • @martinradcliffe4798
    @martinradcliffe4798 ปีที่แล้ว +2

  • @ericadams3428
    @ericadams3428 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This one wasn't Airfix fault but I bought an Airfix HMS Manxman kit many years ago that had nothing in it, needless to say it went straight back to the shop.

  • @brianartillery
    @brianartillery ปีที่แล้ว +2

    That is so annoying. Maybe the seller was hoping that the buyer wouldn't open the box. On the up side, though, that's a nice red stripe/Roy Cross art box for £2.40.
    I had this kit, and followed the Airfix magazine in painting it in an all white anti flash scheme.
    I'd chase up the seller. Maybe you're not alone with the empty box... 🤔🤔🤔

      @nostalgicplastic4323  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely, nice way of looking at it. I think a scrap book is in order... I'll ask Sara to chase, maybe they bought it in good faith too, who knows. Never seen an all white version, I shall google.

    To be honest, although scammed, unless stated, you have a nice nostalgic box for the price of half a pint! Stick it in the wall!

  • @mh53j
    @mh53j ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Never had that happen buying anything off of eBay. If it doesn't have pictures of the contents, if it's not advertised as still in the factory shrink wrap, if is stated "sold as is" or it hasn't been inventoried for missing parts -- it's a pass.
    I've got some real decent deals- an unopened set of 1/35 Kirin Falklands Royal Marines and a 1/35 Trumpeter BTR-60PB for less than $40 (free shipping) two of my most recent finds.

    • @nostalgicplastic4323
      @nostalgicplastic4323  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice!
      Sara has found lots of really good kits at good prices so I'm absolutely not complaining. £2.40 for a nice bit of box art, happy with that.

    I quit buying model kits at ebay some 7 years ago. In 2015, I ordered two Monogram kits from 2 different vendors: a MiG 15 and an F-4J Phantom II, both in 1/48 scale. I NEVER received either kit and eBay ignored my complaints.
