  • A scramjet engine is an improvement over the ramjet engine as it efficiently operates at hyper-sonic speeds and allows supersonic combustion. Thus it is known as Supersonic Combustion Ramjet or Scramjet.
    In this video, we will discuss:
    1. About Missile
    2. About Jet Engine
    3. Scramjet Engine
    4. Scramjet vs. Ramjet Engine
    5. Its Significance

    Sorry to say but I am an aerospace researcher and i can say jet engines never used in case of rockets. jet engines are for aircrafts. Rocket engine is far different from jet engines where no moving parts like compressor and turbine is used.U are showing a jet engine and sayion it is used for rockets. pleae correct

    Ma'am How can Both Pressure and temperature in scramjet increased because we have read that temperature and pressure are inversely proportional.......????

    • @vishakhadagur8787
      @vishakhadagur8787 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, that happens when system is open, .The baisc chemistry is moment temperature rises, high pressure is felt in the system, because of rising motion of molecules. The molecules collides with greater force in same space. However in open system, soon molecules dissipate and pressure is withdrawn.As happens on earth, air rises up when temperature is high. So pressure because low due to motions of air molecules upward. Not Directly because of temperature.Butt in closed system molecules are trapped with both high pressure and temperature, with nowhere to escape. For that you can imagine pressure cooker, waha temperature bhi high hota h and pressure bhi

    • @TheAl-Chemist
      @TheAl-Chemist ปีที่แล้ว

      Temperature and pressure are directly proportional to each other, not inversely.
      PV=nRT
      P increases, T increases as well.

    First of all I don't agree with cost reason because as u said both ramjet and scram jet works only when aircraft reaches supersonic velocity ?then my question is firstly how it will reach that supersonic velocity ? actually for that we use turbo jet engine or turbo Prop fan engine(which consists of compressor and turbine) ...after reaching supersonic speed the turbo engine is shut down and ramjet engine is started .So if we are already using turbojet engine during lifting and during coming down how cost is affected ?the only plus point I think is probability of failure will be less because most of the time it will work in ramjet or scramjet engine.one for thing u missed very important concept of supersonic diffuser and supersonic nozzle because at supersonic speed nozzle acts as diffuser and diffuser acts as nozzle that is the thing which are making scientists to change all those shapes .......thank u

    Just a heads up! What you've failed to mention is that vehicle needs to break the sound barrier first to deploy the ramjet or scram jet technology until then how do you make your vehicle airborne let alone to use the engine. Cost effectiveness of scramjet is frankly lies only on papers as we have to use one(or more) more engine or solid fuel to get the desired speed to initiate the natural compressor.
