I’ve called a few local dealers in BC Canada and apparently they no longer give you the code over the phone. You need to physically go into the dealer and have them pull it.
an update to the situation: went to a dealer, and apparently it’s 50/50 wether they can even obtain a code. I was in the bottom 50 and they couldn’t pull a code. I just said screw it and bought a new aftermarket double din and it’s way better anyways
I have a 2013 VW CC and wanted to upgrade the Radio/navigation, and was wondering if I could install the 2017 VW CC Radio/navigation unit in place of mine?
I am trying to exactly like yours. I have jetta2013 tdi and have a rcd510 and wanted to replace it with the 2017 jetta tsi that has backup camera. Did you install it and have you had any issues? Appreciated your response.

Fond this from a very trustworthy source "Since VW will no longer give out radio codes over the “phone” and requires the car be present and plugged in at the dealership...... for Premium VI (2002+ none Monsoon, Clarion made radios), remove the EEPROM chip labeled “LC66” underneath the cassette tape deck. Code entry is no longer required. I’m not liable for what anyone does with this information."
They don't, I called this morning and they said they disconnected that old system that looks up codes. Now I have to go in and pay for 30 mins of labour for them to use a "scanner" to bypass it. So stupid
You are right. I replace a radio on a newer car. Radio was now in safe mode. Needed to use a scanner. Guided function setting. Click replace radio it ask for part # and hardware #. (Dealer scanner) it records Info from the car and sends it to Germany for warranty purposes. I’ve only bin at a dealer for 1 year now I’m trying to figure how do the private shops do it because I want to leave.
I have a 2015 comfort line Tiguan, the radio went out like a year ago, I got a quote from the dealership tech on how much the repair would be, and the bloody pillock told me 2k to fix the radio unit. When it went to shit on its own, not been tampered with or anything for that matter. Real bullshit from VW

The pin is also on the tag in the trunk. It's the 4 number code.
Where is it in the trunk? Mine is a 2000 Jetta it must be under the carpet incerts somewhere, any ideas please?
@101bluesguy you need to find your build tag with all the option info. It will be the 4 digit number right after your paint code and interior code.

Do you know if this will work on a blaupunkt unit from the Touareg as well?
"underneath the cassette tape deck" -- most VW's (made in the last 20 years) don't have cassette decks.

I tried the dealer too. They gave me the wrong code. I'm working with VWG of A right now to resolve the issue.

My car’s guide says its next to the serial number in the front of the car with the cardocumentation. Sorry, rough translation
Just take the radio out, unplug the power from it and plug it back in and no code is needed..
