    I think I can add some perspective as someone from an Ivy league. In case anyone is inclined to actually believe that Phil could have gotten into an Ivy league to begin with (I don't think he could get in if he applied every year for the rest of his life), financial aid status has 0 bearing on whether or not you are admitted. The school doesn't care in the slightest so long as they get paid. If he needed financial aid, he could've taken out student loans, gotten merit-based scholarships from the school itself, gotten scholarships from outside sources, tried to work his way through college, or a variety of the four. Any way you slice it, the school would get paid, so the school wouldn't care.
    I myself got a 75% merit-based scholarship and got federal loans to cover the rest of the cost of tuition. My school was HAPPY to give me such a good scholarship because they wanted me as a student. This whole "oh the Ivy league doesn't like giving scholarships or poor people" thing is total bunk. They love giving out scholarships to competitive students because it means they get the student, the student's numbers, and the benefits that come with those things instead of another Ivy league. Schools, even Ivy leagues, compete over students allllll the time.

    It's amazing that Phil still hangs on the "Heel" excuse. If Phil was a heel he was literally the only person in on it. If people really misunderstood him so much then that's on him to not drop the act and clarify that he doesn't actually think this way. No one remembers fondly DSP showing up to tournaments. No one loved to hate him. He was just an asshole, plain and simple.

His reputation is trashed and now you can assume whenever Phil gives an account contrary to detractors, your safest bet is to assume he’s lying. TLDR; Phil’s COOKED.

    Regarding: Ivy League rejection.
    Phil overestimates the importance of valedictorian status. There are roughly 26,000 high schools in the United States, so 26,000 valedictorians yearly. Yale and Harvard's total student base is only 38,000 students, including undergraduate and graduate level studies. Obviously, those two schools cannot support taking 26,000 students each year. So yes, other criteria are required as simply being the top of some random-ass high school is not really that impressive in a national sense.
    Phil likely could have gotten into the next tier of Ivy Leagues or "new Ivys" like Rice in Houston or Vanderbilt in Tennessee, but he wanted to stay near momma in Connecticut. He went to a private jesuit university in his own backyard...one that has an acceptance rate of over 50% and a graduation rate of 82%. This is not dissimilar for states schools in the area such as UConn (54% acceptance, 83% graduation rate) and states schools are way cheaper even in Connecticut.
    All this assumes his SAT/ACT scores were on the same level...which, as far as I know as a snort-vortex veteran for a decade plus, those results have never been mentioned or confirmed.

    I dont know why he acts like being a heel character is something you just do randomly and not an agreed upon charater type in wrestling specifically.
    Like you cant go to work at an office and start slapping peoples papers out of their hands, or telling them youd fight them etc, then claim to be the offices heel when hr is firing you. Even if he 100% went into it with that in mind, thats just not how things work.

So all the Viscant drama was just a 4D troll OP that DSP was running? And the joke was... Phil is a malicious, socially inept asshole who ruined his friendships and opportunities? Oh gosh, and we were all so stupid that we didn't get the joke. I guess not only is Phil the originator of Lets Plays, he's also his original first detractor as well!!

  • @Astroga159
    @Astroga159 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The fact that DSP excuses his behavior with: A) I was playing a heel, or B) I was drunk
    A) tells us that he couldn't sell it. Being a heel needs an active audience to be able to ham it put, to be a mustache twirling bad guy. The HAM. Being online loses a lot of this: your tone, your facial expressions, poses, all things heels use to rile up the crowd.
    B) tells us that he was drinking so much that he had legitime blackouts. That is not normal at all.
    I just believe that chronic liar just really was an asshole and a coward. It's more believable since now even DSP admitted that he is DownFromTheRafters (ofc he tries to lie about selling his account but who would believe him now, especially with the correlation with bank leaks and his current spending)
