Peace Goddess. Vulnerability. Just learned about this Art not too long ago as I was learning about myself. I'm still learning & growing in this part. It's amazing the things you learn about yourself when you're ready to live in your authenticity. Thank you for sharing your wisdom 🙏 Blessings
Yemoja has really entered my life lately and she means much to me! Thank you! Being a white male, it is not easy for people to understand and seek the Mother Yemoja! May I be guided sister!
I’m going thru this right now. Letting my pride aside in order to ask for help. Vulnerability means you have to humble oneself and be transparent in hopes to grow from the situation
So true. When my daughter was born and I realized whether she lived or died (physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, etc) depended mainly on me (she has a dad but I’m her mom) I was forever changed. Later on, I realized that was true for myself at this point in my life as well and was forever changed again. Accepting vulnerability and femininity have been life changing for me.
I literally just had this conversation with a dear friend of mine reminding him that vulnerability is power and then I stumble across your video. 🙏🏽💙🙏🏽💙🙏🏽 #synchronicity
Sis I needed this 🥰 I just started a position and you are speaking to my entire soul. Shoulders up back and down 👂🏾Be vulnerable. The water will catch me I drove to the ocean for some 🌊. Thank you thank you thank you. And yes these babies, the critiquing, the choosing the focus and sticking it out. Omg I 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 you tell it how it is and the message is heard for those who understand no apology required
I am 17, and for the past 9 months have been called to the Orisha, I see them in dreams, through people- in song. It is very heartwarming to hear you speak on vulnerability and Yemoja. I once saw her come to me in the appearance of a baby doll with a blue dress in a dream. Thank you for making this video. I know now to strengthen my relationship with self, and Orisha- I must be vulnerable, and allow myself to feel. thanks once more, Ase oooo!
i am a young girl (20) and i've been guided to learn more about orishas and yoruba tradition. it has blown me away how beautiful it is. im at a place where i dont know what to believe in and its taking a toll on my mind. but this feels good, and familiar. is it wrong for me to worship the orishas if it isn't my culture? all i know is that my momma is black and indian, my father is puerto rican and black. i dont want to be disrespectful to this beautiful religion/spirituality. you inspire me in every way with your videos, by the way. peace and blessings to you!
lyss yui The Orisha tradition is inclusive and universal. But even if it wasn’t, trust me, you’re in! 😂 Follow your heart. Ifa and the Orisha call us through our Ancestors! Go for it as we bring honor as we remember.
Thank you so much! I will do all I can to keep hearing so that I can continue to share wisdom to help everyone on their spiritual journeys and evolution.
It's weird how your videos keep popping up for me according to what I really need to hear... It's been like this since my grandma passed in January... Thank you for being here... Talking about "African dance", I don't really know Mambo besides having seen it in films but what you said about how it made you feel made me think of how people raised in other cultures (usually heavily influenced by European mindsets) even if they're of African descent, feel so uncomfortable when they come in contact with the kind of dance we have in the French-Caribbean and French Guiana... Even if you're dancing with a complete stranger, this music (zouk) and the various ways we dance zouk require from both dancers that they allow themselves to be vulnerable. Indeed, you are letting your bodies come into very close contact, so much so that many outsiders get confused and sometimes start thinking that because someone danced like this with them, they can expect something more at the end of the evening, while for us, it's not even about that (although, the sexual energy in this type of music and dance is undeniably there, this is a dance first...It can turn into an ice-breaker/date prelude only if you want it to). I'm wondering if our enslaved ancestors brought this with them (or the framework for it) as a way to communicate their strength and vulnerability to each other without uttering a single word... Or if it is meant to give us access to something more (saying this because if you really let go of every bit of self-consciousness and let the music and dance "carry you", it can be as though you're levitating and you can almost perceive things you wouldn't otherwise... )
Vulnerablbility has been a huge blockage for me. I used to be an A type personality. I have grown and I owe that to a few life experiences. The only time I have and am vulnerable is through dance since being a kid. Why? Dance has been my sacred space, my zone, my world. It is just me and the place where the music takes me. In business, relationships, associate ships, friendships, etc.. I was never vulnerable.
Interesting. I get away in dance, too! Keep me posted if you ever do take a chance on being vulnerable. It might be the moon in the 8th house that keeps you protected, though.
That was great advice. I have almost made siento before in Santeria. Which is derived from the Yoruba tradition and IFA. Gave me great incite into yemaya and made me realize how much I need to personally work on being vulnerable. Are you done with your first year in white at this point or no? Curious because your knowledge and understanding is great.
I have and feel a connection to yemaya but don't want to make any mistakes i have made to many . I feel these strong vibrations and I find myself praying to her. What should I do I am confuse
She is such a natural part of us it is hard to make a mistake. As I work with her energy over time it is about what is the most nurturing thing you can do for yourself to make sure you continue living your destiny? Also, what can you do to walk fully in self-love and care? It is always decent and in order to work with the water element. Honestly, sister, her energy is so pervasive there are multiple ways to work with her but this is just a taste. Hope this helps!
Tawanda Vance Yes. Yemoja is Nigerian, which where her name originates, Yemaya is from the diaspora, mainly Spanish speaking people such as in Cuba and Puerto Rico. Brazilians may spell it Iemanja.
Yemoja has blessed us all with love, life, and vulnerability! May Ifa continue to grant blessings to you, sister! Ase!

Is yemaya Illumination? Healing ? Love?
Mind Blowing I think all of those. Her healing medicine brings all of those in some level.
I find myself being attracted to her even though I am in the Hebrew Israelites Faith! I think I've graduated !
J'Jitana Ingraham Welcome to freedom!
So is Yemoja and Yemaya the same Orisha?
Tawanda Vance Yes. Yemoja is Nigerian, which where her name originates, Yemaya is from the diaspora, mainly Spanish speaking people such as in Cuba and Puerto Rico. Brazilians may spell it Iemanja.
Tirra Omilade OK, thanks for explaining .
