    Vlad : what's your name
    person: My name is Paul
    vlad: yeah but don't you think that Carl is better?
    paul: yeah but my name is..
    vlad: I mean there are other names besides paul, ya-kna-mean?
    paul: that's fine but My name is ..
    vlad: no I feel ya, but don't you think like Ceasar is more powerful than paul?

      Hopsin says "unless hes writing the lyrics/contributing in some way". Drake writes majority of his rhymes.
      "idea of Drake" would make sense if someone else wrote ALL of his music for him like Dr Dre, P Diddy, Eazy E, etc.

  • @stenchbumpofficial
    @stenchbumpofficial 6 ปีที่แล้ว +386

    Yeah but there's a difference between the Dre and Drake situation. Dre never thought of himself as a rapper or a lyricist. Everybody knows that Dre uses ghostwriters. He acknowledged that. How many time did Drake say that he's the greatest, the best etc. ? You can't call yourself the goat if you don't write your own shit. End of.

      Emil Lončarevič that's what I mean like with easy e to Noone clowned him cause everyone knew cube was writing his shit if not cube than someone else but if ur saying ur the greatest and than get exposed for not writing ur lyrics and lying than ur a fraud and fake and u shouldn't b a rapper I would have more respect for drake if u always admitted he had a writer but he hasn't probably never will

      You need a rap lesson. A beat maker makes beats. A producer, creates them, takes samples and clash them, blends, does the mixing, overall crafting of the work and often help rappers better things such as delivery and flow, etc. Consider yourself enlightened. Don't correct, if you're not going to correct fully.

      if anyone disagrees with that i would love to hear their argument. a rappers writing ability and ability to be consistently making hits is implicit in his ability to WRITE and respect as an MC. You could shave off all the dogma that comes along with hip hop and this honor code would still stand. it isnt prejudice or closed mindedness as far as i can tell. What drake has going is more like how singers produce records. or how Mad Men and other tv shows get made. any given mad men episode, there is three or four people piecing together life events. I do understand to keep a million dollar entity profitable, this is the way to do the shit.

    Difference between Dre and Drake.
    Dre-Him and Easy E both acknowledged a long time ago that Ice Cube wrote most of their music.Hes acknowledged threw out his career that he has had people write for him.
    Dre has built most of his career as a producer,but he can still rap and write.And finally hes never claimed to be the greatest lyricist ever.
    Drake-claims to be the greatest lyricist ever,that in itself is a huge L
    Never acknowledged people writing for him until Pusha dissed his ass.
    Hopsin said it perfect here,music is good.But you cant claim to be the greatest and have a helping hand,no way to justify this one at all.Vlad is tripping.

      @WAKANDA NAKER Dre has always made it clear, he producers with others. He's a producer. Music production involves putting together all the elements together. This includes overseeing recording sessions, picking out samples, getting musicians to play instrumentals, making sure the tracks are mixed and mastered, making sure samples are cleared and so much more.
      Producers produce records/tracks/songs, they don't necessarily make the beats.

      If you got Picasso to paint anything for you now a days, my first thought would not be "did a person who has been dead for over 46 years paint this"? It would be ""AAAAHHHH, ZOMBIE PICASSO, RRRUUUUUUNNNNNNN". But if you had an original Picasso painting, before his pre-dead days, you would be better off to just say that it is Picasso's work. You'll get far more money for it. However, zombie Picasso has never made a single painting, so maybe that would be worth more. Hmmm 🤔🤔🤔

For some reason people say the big 3 is Drake, Kendrick, Cole, but the big 3 is actually Drake, Kanye, Travis, each of which have ghost everything. The opposite spectrum would be Kendrick, Cole, and Push who are anti-fame and old school and what not.

The reason we all respect Dre is because he's a producer first, that's his art form. The rapping portion is just complimentary. BUT when you paint yourself as an MC, and it turns out you don't write your own shit.. you have no art form, you get all the credit for the shit you didn't even write yourself. I think Vlad was trying to get Hopsin to see how contradicting he is. Hopsin says he can't respect ghost writers, but doesn't care if Dre ghost writes because of his cultural impact to him personally. So, because Dre has contributed to his life (by starting LA hip-hop), it is okay for him to ghost write, but anyone else (in this case Drake), because they haven't effected him like Dre, it is not okay to ghost write. That, on Hopsin's behalf, is very contradicting/biased.

Either that or they are just pumping it out for money, and that art is a lot less valuable than the stuff the actual artist created.

      Real boxing Fan1 It matters to artists, that's the point that Hopsin is making. Clearly you don't care, but what if it was you in his seat? For example, say you were a painter and to mild success, then there is another painter who presents the work of others as his own. If he calls himself a "painter" (yet all he does is use other people's work), wouldn't you be pissed off that he be compared to you as a true artist? I sure would. If Drake or anyone else is going to call themselves an "artist" or "musician", then they should be the ones producing their own work, or they are just fakes. Or at least call themselves entertainers. There is a much bigger issue altogether about using ghostwriters as an "artist" because this sets a presidence in music that blurs the meaning of being an artist. It infects the industry and it destroys any sense of authentic artistry.

      People like Jay, Nas, 50, Eminem could go at these clowns and not brake a sweat because they've already had success, and they're respected. Plus, if Meek vs Drake got that much attention.. imagine something like this...

    The whole idea of being a genuine artist is having a sense of integrity, the authentic approach of taking your own ideas and composing them into tangible means of expression. Hopsin is an artist, Drake is a second-hand artist at best. You're never going to convince or persuade someone that takes the time that Hopsin does to put his music and his brand together on his terms to truly respect what Drake does. It's a disheartening trait. Music is subjective and a good song is a good song regardless of where it came from, but as an artist, you can agree to disagree just because it's a good song, but there's no true appreciation or real regard towards the artistry of a record if it's second-hand. A catchy record is going to sell, and it's essentially "junk food" music, something you listen to while working out or cleaning your house, but it's never going to be a song that you sit there and close your eyes to enjoy. Elevator music, for the lack of a better term. It is what it is.

    Singers need ghost writers because not everyone can sing, the writer needs a voice for their words. Anyone can 'rap' not anyone can write. So the talent in singing is The Voice ... the talent in Rap is an artist who can Write their own story!

And the money still went to the right person. The better vocalists and the songwritters. There is no ghostwritter in this case.

    • @ihceyno
      @ihceyno 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Char's Vinyl Collection I think singing is different, not everyone is born with a voice, with rap however pretty much everyone can read some lyrics and record so its writing (the actual ability to rap) that sets them apart.

    • @charliesunday1099
      @charliesunday1099 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +ihceyno you can't sit here and tell me everyone can rap though. We both know that isn't true. I don't think I could produce a hit a song rapping if someone wrote me the best song ever. I get what you're saying but I have to disagree. There's still a talent for simply being able to rap well.

    • @ihceyno
      @ihceyno 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Char's Vinyl Collection I didn't imply that everyone can rap, I said pretty much anyone could read lyrics off a page, if you can write good rhymes by yourself then you can rap and in that there are levels to it.

    • @charliesunday1099
      @charliesunday1099 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +ihceyno I don't think because you can write quality raps that you are necessarily a good rapper. Some people may be poetic but can't exactly execute their written work. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm not a drake fan in the least sense so this isn't about defending him for any personal reason but I still think there's value for a guy who can perform. Though I really don't like hip hop music on the whole
