I am trying to figure out how to do this on a LEGO model... I think at the scale I am working in its probably not possible, but looking at some videos to see if I get any ideas.
When the rear deck pops up there is a small handle along the rail on the right hand side. It is inset. When you pull it up the 3rd row will unlatch. Then you climb in and push it to the back of the 2nd row to get it to stay up.
Tip - it can hold a 4’ x 8’ sheet of plywood. (Multiple actually) and the tailgate still closes. Way more secure than a pickup. Lots of hidden compartments inside too!!!

Which lock is manual?

Only if I could convince my dad to use this as a work vehicle instead of his pickup 😒
