This message hit deep! I started watching TC online in August 2021 during the "Help! I'm Hurting" series and heard Amberly Bell's story. I was lost and hurting after losing my father January of that year. I began watching every week when the Crazyer Faith series started. My husband started hearing the message as I would watch it loudly in my room. At the time we were in roommate mode and not really connected. As the series continued, he enjoyed Pastor Mike's preaching style and we started watching it together. We even started to raise our hand during the salvation prayer. Then unexpectedly my mom when into the hospital Christmas day that same year and spent the next 3 months in the hospital. The day she was scheduled to start recovery, February 28, 2022 she had another heart attack and passed away. The next month I bought my first Bible and surrendered my entire life to Jesus. Hearing Pastor Charles talk about his Bible and the date of February 28 reminded me of the same. I wrote in mine that I presented it to myself from God on the occasion of my parents passing.
Since then I started living for Christ and once we heard about Flood Sunday that October we signed up. We didn't receive confirmation until Friday night and questioned if we should go. We prayed and slept and as soon as we woke up we knew we needed to get there. We packed our bags and left. With no plan or idea of what to expect we drove through Missouri and stopped to rest for the night. We were in Oklahoma at a rest area when Pastor Mike started preaching that Sunday message, so we listened live until we arrived at TC. When we arrived I took our children and sat upstairs while my husband checked us in for baptism. We waited in line and watched others get baptized. We witnessed Pastor Mike's daughter get baptized which inspired our son to also get baptized. We were up next and asked if we could be baptized as family. So Heather and Adam asked for another volunteer and Precious jumped in with her clothes on all so we could all be baptized at the same time! We left changed (It's different now!). We then checked into the hotel next to TC, changed our clothes and got ready for the evening service at 6pm. Where we watched Pastor Mike's mom sing Fill me Up / Overflow and service. It was getting late and our youngest son was getting tired, so we decided to leave a little early as we had to drive 12 hours back to Chicago the next morning. As we were leaving we saw Brenda Todd and asked for a picture. She asked us if we needed prayer and we told her what we were going through and that our 12 year wedding anniversary was the next day. She prayed over us, our marriage and our family and we cried as she lifted us up to God. The next morning our life began changing non-stop. We started sleeping in the same room again and it was as if we had a completely new relationship and marriage. We did the 21 days of prayer and fasting the following year and on March 31, 2023 we found out I was pregnant! So we drove back down for Resurrection Sunday and the showing of Ransom. We went to all 3 showings and unknowingly sat next to one of the gentlemen on the production team. Whom we talked with and met up with at each showing. At the last showing we didn't want to leave and stayed until the very last moment. I saw Amberly and decided to go up to her and thank her as she was the reason I began watching TC and asked her to pray over my pregnancy. She didn't hesitate and prayed over me and my baby. We again left filled with joy and hope.
When we returned we started to experience financial issues and remained in prayer. On July 30 there was no service at TC and they encouraged everyone to find a local church to attend. We missed morning services, but I found a church event on Facebook that evening and decided to attend. We met the pastors who explained the party was a church planting and an amazing couple from the church who recently had their 5th child and shared our testimony...Little did we know that we'd become family.
A couple days later my uncle kicked us out of his home because we were a few days late on rent. We went to the Bible study group at the church we had just found days prior and shared what we were experiencing. The next day the family we had just met on July 30 asked if we wanted to move-in with them!! We were in shock and couldn't believe someone would open their home to us, especially since our own families weren't willing to help us. For the past year we've been serving and helping out with the planting of the new church. We still don't have a home of our own, but we continue to pray God is bringing us where He needs us.
There's so many more details to our story, but I share this to encourage anyone (willing to read it, lol) that God is faithful and good!! His word and promises are true!

Dear God, we come to you with grateful hearts for another week of life that you have blessed us with. We thank you for the breath in our lungs, for it is a reminder of your love and power. Heavenly Father, I humbly come before your throne as an intercessor for all of your children, regardless of race, nationality, or sexual orientation. I pray for the men you have called and chosen, the ones you havent Chosen and for the youth and the LGBT community who are often marginalized and misunderstood. I know that there have been many challenges and struggles in the past, and I pray for your guidance and grace to lead us towards a better future. I ask for your blessings upon all relationships, that they may be filled with love, understanding, and respect. I pray for an end to curses and dry land, and instead, a flourishing of your Kingdom here on Earth. In your holy name.Father, I pray for your protection and blessings upon their life. I ask that you bring peace and love to them and their family, and that you unite them in harmony. I plead the blood of Jesus Christ to cover them and their loved ones, and I pray that every ungodly spirit, from the root and the umbilical cord, be removed in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Being chosen by God brings nothing but trouble and heartache. The problem is I can't stand the church in general. In fact I'm sorry to say I actually hate the church and the fake hugs and fake I love you . I love Jesus tho and I'm sure he loves me. Pray for me cause at this point my heart is hardened and it's getting filled with hate and anger.
hi there. A wise man once said that "we see things not as they are but as we are". I think all of us at some point in our lives have had hate and anger because of our past experiences. I was there, and I can tell you that hate and anger are one of the heaviest things we can carry. Therapy/counseling and spending time in the Word are a good combination to heal these emotions. Lastly, as Christians, we win when we fight the battles on our knees. I wish you the very best. Much love - E

I was hosting a watch party for this sermon with a friend and we didn't even get 3 mins in when Charles says, "I will hit you in your overweight face". My friend immediately left the watch party and told me he didn't like the judgmental attitude Charles had. I also didn't like the delivery of his point of going by his name. I'm disappointed. Because of that line my friend did not get a very good representation of this church or Christ.
Hi Amanda. I'm so sorry to hear that your friend did not get a good representation of Christ and TC because of Charles choice of words. The good thing though is you were able to invite him, and he came to your watch party and that is a great reason to celebrate! I wonder if your friend came because deep down he is curious to hear and know more about Jesus? Maybe he'll come to know the Lord Jesus through other teachers.
