How did elements heavier than iron form? Elements like silver, gold, platinum, lead, and the many others from the bottom half of the periodic table are created when many, many neutrons are suddenly added to iron and other atoms. Two main processes describe this heavy element formation which occurs in red giant stars and neutron star mergers.

Wow. Great talk. Very interesting. Corrected many misconceptions I had. Thanks!
Excellent and very clear explanation, many thanks.
great video. thanks!
HELLO TEACHER,
THIS IS GOOD JOB.
Thanks.
Would the process release energy as the heavier element formed would have more binding energy than the separate particles?
I liked that 'Whoom!'
5:09 vrrooommm!! Great video!
That only Pb?
I understand the nucleus fusion, but where do they get the electrons from?
Well, one place is in beta decay. A neutron is converted into a proton, an electron, and an anti neutrino.
@@lieslceleste3395 right! got it. thanks.
Many years ago, we had a weathercaster in Miami who could write very fast and backward, but I do not remember if he used his left hand...I think maybe.
I think this is recorded and then mirrored, so that she’s writing with her right hand and not backwards, but who know? Haha
I know it’s not conclusive but she’s writing with her wedding ring hand so likely her left. So Im still curious… and impressed!
are you writing backwards?
See lightboard.info to see how this was done.
I think the camera is inverted
The image is mirrored. This video shows how to make one cheaply th-cam.com/video/L1au1JxMSaA/w-d-xo.html
same thought hahahaha
didn´t get it.
She write backwards very well.
So much knowledge but a bit of confidence issue
How is she writing backwards?! 😳🤯
See lightboard.info to see how this was done. Best wishes on your studies!
