    A very handsome guy, liken to a K-pop idol in today’s scene.
    A very skilful player just like many National players in those days.
    Imagine the 55,000 capacity National stadium is packed to 70,000 in those days.
    There’s even no space along the steps in the stadium to move.
    We even gate crash, climbing up the column like spider man to cross over to see them play. There was even a stampede once when I was trying to buy football tickets at the stadium gate. Those were our days.
    Hard for young Singaporean to envision these days.
    I am sad.
    My deepest condolences to the family. 🙏

    Mat Noh together with Kim Song and Zainal Abideen were my favourite players from that era. That was when the Kallang Roar was born and every home match was sold out. RIP Legend

    What's the point of the clips? You talk about him being such a great footballer but the entire TV station could not even retrieve a few good snippets of him playing? What a shame!

    Those were the good days! Dollah,Mohd Noh,Kim Song, Rajagopal...
    Can you imagine no live telecast?! Have to listen to radio and if SBC is generous, we have to rely on delayed telecast? Brian Richmond was a familiar name for doing live radio commentary with his famous slogan ..he ballooned the ball. Straits Times Joe Dorai analysis was like gold and Referee kayu and kelong is the two words always used.
    Thanks Mohd Noh..RIP

    • @zahemi914
      @zahemi914 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I remember those days, when delayed telecast was something to wait for after listening it on radio. And in the 70s, having a transistor radio was somewhat sort of luxury too

    • @rudytrulytruly7467
      @rudytrulytruly7467 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@zahemi914 why delayed telecast? The reason is so that people will go to 65,000 will roar in Kallang and eat. Boys touting drinks ,curry puff, kweji(melon seeds). Only rival Selangor can frightened us. Spider man goal keeper, Aramungam..Santokh Singh, Towkay Soh Chin An, and I forgotten the later striker with the first goal that silenced the Kallang Roar.

    Mohd Noh & I were from the same school in Tanjong Katong Seconday School. I was two years his senior but had the privilege of playing with him in the Inter School Football League. If my memory is correct, it was in 1970 when he was playing centre forward position & I was playing the left flank. He was already a talented footballer & I never ceased to be amazed & impressed by the way he dribbled & navigated himself through the opposing defence & scored goals.

    Remembered how he thrilled the fans with his ice cool dribbling skills and how he mesmerized female fans with his good looks. Still remember watching the 1975 Malaysia Cup final(I remember he played with a sore eye!) on TV and my female neighbor, an air stewardess, joined in and kept asking us to tell her which one is Mohammed Noh. When Mat Noh was taking a throw-in, we told her "this one!" , but his back was facing the camera, and she kept saying "come on! Please turn around and let me take a look at you!".
    We found her so cute!
