    'Valo Tea' means Good Tea. 'Valo' = Good in bengali. So if you mean Good Samosa you should say 'Valo Samosa' (NOT 'Valo Tea' Samosa). Likewise: Valo Jol (Good Water), Valo Bari (Good House), Valo Manush (Good person).
    Hope you find this small linguistics session helpful, Chris 😄

    Hello Chris, love your videos man. Btw here in Bengal we don't call a samosa samosa but "Singhara", and the funny thing is, to the hindi speakers in India "Singhara" means "Water chestnut" fruit. So it very confusing to them as well as to us Bengalis. In India the we don't always have same word for same thing and also same word for completely different things.

    Chris,
    One correction Delicious meaning is not 'Valo tea ' in bengali .
    Delicious=Susadu
    A tea seller told you the term 'valo tea' in your previous vlog without understanding what you want to say delicious in bengali.

    • @aMutantMind

    I'm from South India and I personally couldnt stand being in Bengal due to its food. I love the culture and the retro vibes kolkata has.
    I also love how they have the best clothes for cheap prices. I got a saree and my friends thought its a 10,000 RS saree but it was only 500 rs back then.
    The food though ...Everything has sugar added to it, even the biryani. I had tears eating their food because we arent used to adding sugar in spicy foods.
    Now knowing even samosa has sugar in it makes me cry.
    Even koreans add sugar to all Savory dishes.
    Unless you are born eating it and being used to it , its difficult for other states Indians to appreciate Kolkata's food.

    @desichris word "bhaalo" means good, and "bhaalotea" means good tea. You must be confused bcz of the misunderstanding from ur previous conversation with the tea seller. Further, if you want to say good, just say "BHAALO" or if you want to say extremely delicious in bengali, say "OSSADHORON".
    Wish I could meet u guys, but I am out of station.

    Hey Chris,
    Good = Bhalo,
    So bhalo tea is good tea.
    Susadu = Delicious,
    However you can use the phrase "Khoob Bhalo" which means very good in a generic sense to describe almost everything.
    'Susadu' is not used very often colloquially. Especially the working class, who are migrant workers from Bihar would not understand.

    Will any Indian get so much of respect and attention in your country ? Or let's say would you get this kind of down to earth ❤️ respect in any other nation ? This is the country this is the soil on which you are walking where Britishers said Dogs and Indians not allowed ! Read the history because you both are keen in exploring India. It's time the truth must surface. But no hard feelings because kindness and being respectful is what our culture teaches I hope you reciprocate the same. So how long you are in Kolkata now ? I am from this city only. I too am a great follower of you both. God bless you brothers.

    @12:28 Chris whenever you are asking somebody to have some food from your side, dont ask 'aap khaoge?' ( will you eat?) Instead, say 'please khaiye.' (Please have it) We Bengalis (rather say hindus) treat food as God Narayan. And we never ask for it no matter we are hungry or not, we have money or not.(exception family and friend circle) But if someone insists and requests we will surely have it. If you insisted that Uncle he would surely have it. 🙏🙏🙏
    And feeding the hungry is the best thing one can do on this earth

    Cris is really a friendly and good person .
    But , one thing is noticeable,
    and that is , this blogger enjoying and showing of the alleys , footpath dokans and poor areas only .
    Till now, no notable places, for which Kolkata can boast of ,
    is shown .
