LSU has finally found the perfect recruiting/ transfer portal balance. More bang for your buck paying big for proven production and not 5 stars from recruiting services.
Aron Anderson was a 5 star by On3 and 24/7 and a 4 star from the other 2 services. He was the 2nd ranked overall player on Louisiana and the number WR in the state. He was the 35th ranked overall player in his class. Aron Anderson is elite too. He had 53 catches 784 yards 5 TDS at 15 yards per catch and a kick return TD. And the year isn’t over yet.

Jakeem Jackson is not an established player at all, but he is a former elite recruit just like Kade Phillips, with three years left and at least some scant college experience. LSU has taken 4 CBs out of the portal already who were either elite best of the best as HS prospects, or at least solidly 4-star guys with big offer sheets, and they all were busts. With three years eligibility or more remaining for all of them. Whereas an FCS player like Zy Alexander actually became a quality starter. So hopefully the fifth time will be the charm with JJ. And there's definitely something to be said for already proven college players, even if their ceiling is lower.
For those who don’t quite understand why spending big money on 5 Star HS players, simply need to go through the current Freshman classes of the major programs, including LSU and you will find numerous 5 Star and 4 Star players who have yet to make an impact.
So how do you think LSU held off Oregon landing Pickett or flipped Solomon? They over spent on freshman just like everyone else. Otherwise Pickett would be at Oregon and Solomon at LSU. If LSU truly isn't spending on High School recruit's then I guess Michigan will walk right into Baton Rouge and steal Elijah Haven the # 1 QB class of 27. Saying that Sharp is your day 1 plug and play replacement for Mason Taylor then following it up by comparing Brown to Malik Nabers is quite the statement. I hope you’re right.
I would not even say that BB is your #1 WR, not even close. Not even a sure thing he'd be a starter, depending on who else they get. But he is a productive, proven SEC WR, and at his best, a big time talent. Obviously he doesn't compare to Nabers. So you might call him a pretty fair swap for Kyren Lacy, who also had elite talent, but was a bit of a flake and never became the superstar his talent could have allowed him to become, but was still good. And unlike Lacy he's not 6-2/6-3. Like Lacy, it appears as if Brown is also a bit of an underachiever.
We’re in the final 5 schools for the number one receiver in the portal too😳 if they get Eric Singleton, they’ll probably win the national championship. They’d have the number one offense for sure. And Blake baker will come through with a top 20 defense next year, just like he did his second year at mizzou
@@shawnjackson9609 who says they can’t? Durham just won Freshman of the year and Harlem Barry is the number one RB in the country out of highschool. LSU is projected to land the center from Virginia tech which will have him starting at center, and will have DJ Chester at RG with 5 star Weston Davis at his natural position (RT) and Paul muebenga who started to break out in the last 3 games at LG, And Tyree Adams at the position he plays best (LT) that’s probably the starting lineup with two 5 star offensive linemen on the bench for backups. They only signed him for depth. We’re probably getting the Virginia Tech CB transfer. He’s the number two CB in the portal. And he’ll go along side DJ Pickett.
Aron Anderson is our WR1 this year and if Chris Hilton can stay healthy he is the number 2. Barron Brown can be the 3. A team needs 3 good WRs so he should fit in nicely. I think he proves that this year with his 53 catches 784 yards and 5 tds at almost 15 yards per reception. And if Chris Hilton could stay on the field he is an elite WR too. Yea this Brown kid is good I’m sure but Anderson was recruited by Nick Saben and went to Alabama his freshman year. Kentucky had terrible quarterback play, and Brown still produced. Brown is more explosive than Key. Key just had more targets than Brown
@rickyobein012340 Brown also has drop issues...he's a great athlete. But #1? Nah...LSU is gonna have better WRs for him to be the 1.
@@dezgarrett2790 The Drops may be an issue, but that is coachable, and can be fixed. Even the NFL coaches will say it not something that can't be fixed. Experience vs no Experience. HS vs College and NFL vs College are not on the same tier.
Scon3, it's better to be able to say I told you so without actually doing so, than to spend your last segment telling people I told you so.
Jimari Butler you can have. Nebraska could’ve taken him out of the portal but elected to pass. They did however bring back Freshman RE Keona Davis who went into the portal and then signed RE Williams Nwaneri from Missouri. The fact that he took a few extra NIL dollars from LSU and turned his back on heading to FSU with his DC and DL Coach sums him up very well.
Or he knows he will excel and be developed at LSU. Look at NFL rosters…
@@smd2169 Good luck.
Why you sound butthurt?
Hey I understand completely what you're saying and have often felt the same of guys in NIL era but have come to conclusion of they're all this way and $ is the only thing that matters in this " business" which is all it is now, all the other factors of cfb that made fans so passionate and loyal about programs that sold players into becoming fans themselves and loyal to a program is no longer a factor over $
Probably because Bo Davis and Kevin Peoples are the number one Defensive Line Coach and the number one edge rushers coach in the country😂 FSU can’t hold a candle to our Defensive line coaches, and it’s not close
Aaron anderson is better than brown
Im sorry!!!!! But i rather Bryce Underwood. The type of players like Bryce , u just cant lose an let go of like that. Hes like Lebron James of football. U could tell by his mechanics, that hes going to be great.
Crazy talk. You start spending that at QB you'll never pay that again. It only goes up. Besides.. you want people who WANT to be here. Bye!
No one is worth 12 million dollars to LSU
I rather Bryce underwood tbh
Naw we good were we at and didn't wanna play for us. He just wanted the money that's why he left
Lmao this clown is hilarious
Let's go
I damn sure would prefer Bryce Underwood over Gus…You just saying that cause he flipped on us
Lol bryce still wants to be a tiger but that money was just too good 😂 10m as a high schooler never played a down of college ball ill take that mf too 😂
@@cosmaszunnah89hell ya, 12 million is life changing money before ever playing a snap in college.
This dude delusional
LSU better be on fire, or they will get left behind. I never heard of SMU nor Indiana as a top 10 football school long as I have been living🤦🏿
Do you know that Jerry Rice went to Mississippi Valley State and Walter Payton went to Jackson State, How did those 2 turn out?
The landscape has changed with NIL, and the transfer portal. SEC won't be the dominant conference anymore
@@rickyobein012340Indiana and SMU would have probably gone .500 or worse in the SEC.
I'd have been impressed if Kelly had donated money to acquire Bryce Underwood. I still think Hurley is going to leave and I wouldn't blame him.
Man I hope Hurley stays. I know we needed to acquire another QB through the portal but I hope our coaches sat him down and told him how important he is to this team. I see so much potential in him. And he has an incredible attitude
A head coach can’t donate money directly to buy a player. And he gave $1M not 12… he only makes 10 a year.
What you said makes about as much sense as a circled square. There are a multiplicity of ways to give money to any player. It has already happened.
@@theknightswhosay That makes about as much sense as a squared circle. What I said has already happened.
@@p.syvick5936 no it didn’t. He didn’t donate money to get particular players. He offered to match donations with gifts to TAF. How in the hell would that have changed anything about Underwood even if he could write him a $1M check?
So Bryan Kelly will have 0 excuses next year. We are guaranteed a playoff birth and nothing less will matter. He said see you at the National Championship if LSU doesn't make it to the Championship Bryan Kelly is a bust period the end...
If they get Eric singleton, I’d put 1000 on us winning the natty. That offense would be unstoppable. Would be a lot like 2019 LSU
Sorry van buren is not a player LSU should have gotten guy was trash for state why is he going be any better makes zero sense Brian Kelly still has not figured out the link to 5 stars to championships BK still thinks he can win with just ok talent not going happen sorry
Womp Womp
Aron Anderson is our WR1 this year and if Chris Hilton can stay healthy he is the number 2. Barron Brown can be the 3. A team needs 3 good WRs so he should fit in nicely. Dude Aron Anderson was the 2nd ranked PLAYER in Louisiana the year he went to college he was the 35th ranked PLAYER not just WR but overall player in his class. He was a 4 star by some services but On3 and 24/7 had him as a 5 star. The other 2 big services had him as a 4star. He has elite speed and elite hands. He is an elite WR. I’m not exactly sure how fast Anderson is but I would bet money he runs a 4.40 flat at least. He reminds me of Antonio Brown exept a little bulkier and stout than Antonio was. Anderson is built like Tyrek Hill. Hill is 5’8’’ 185 and Anderson is 5’9’’ 190. I know Trek Hill is listed at 5’10’’ but that’s bullshit. He was measured at his Pro Day and he was 5’8’’. So with Anderson, Hilton, and Brown and that TE we just signed and I think Thomas might be coming back and Parker we should be even better at WR this year. Hilton is a bad motherfucker. I think he proved that in that Oklahoma game. And Anderson has 784 yards and 5 tds but the season ain’t over year. There is 1 more game left. Oh and he has a kick return TD. What I would do would be to let Brown reform kicks and Anderson punts. Nah I would have Thomas doing the punts unless we needed a score than j would put Anderson out there. You don’t want your star WR returning kicks and punts all the time.
*if Hilton can keep his feet

Can you find out the status of Jacoby Mathew’s? He would be a massive get
