    Some had asked for a full real time tutorial for blending my abstract backgrounds! Here ya go! Don't get frustrated, blending acrylics is not easy, but just keep at it, its gets easier! There are many other techniques for realistic acrylic painting like for clouds and waves, maybe i will do one of those in the future! Happy painting!

    Oh Molly, you are setting us all up for success. You don’t have to have these wonderful lessons, but you do and I can’t tell you just how much you are appreciated. To my knowledge, you are the only person who has been so patient as to share your knowledge. This is almost like a paid for class. If I were close to you, I would take any of your classes in a heartbeat. I have to just say WOW. I have downloaded this and going to follow it this weekend to play. Don’t ever apologize for a long video. If people don’t want to watch they will fast forward or skip to something else. Your loyal followers will hang on every minute. HAPPY PAINTING MOLLY GIRL!

    OMG you just saved my life! I tried blends on two canvasses 30"x40" and I hated the results. I thought it was a lost cause b.c. no one else said "just do more layers". AND the various techniques are so helpful to have up my sleeve. I'm ready to dive back in, THANK YOU MOLLY.

    This is the most informative video I've ever seen on how to work with just plain old acrylic paint! I started my art journey with oil paint, and then I started pouring, so I've had a heck of a time trying to work with acrylic paint before it dries. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain everything in such detail and sharing your knowledge with the rest of us!

    My goodness, acrylic paints are so much more opaque than watercolor paints-and appear, from this demonstration, to be much more difficult to blend. I've recently started using acrylics for rock painting for my grandchildren. The dry-on-dry-with-different-hues-of-paint-on-the-same-brush technique had the best blending results to my eye-thank you for your introduction to blending with acrylic paints.

    EXCELLENT video Molly! … Very helpful I have just started some of this kind of painting but it’s good to know the techniques! … Thank you for this one !
    Obviously this is an old video I just somehow missed along the way … probably because I wasn’t at this point at that time … still trying to get the Dutch pour down !! … getting very frustrating … actually that is how I started doing this as I had scraped another disappointing Dutch pour and with what was left on the canvas I started brushing and then I tried brushing along with paper towel and Saran Wrap and it just looked very cool !… Hopefully I can do something more fulfilling than my Dutch pours lol

    You are my favorite artist... I’ve been just now trying blending dry on dry, but until I watched this I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t get the hang of it. My favorites are when you put in your curved lines. I have tremors so I have to laugh at my half circle lines, but now I will do better because of you, thank you

    Wow Molly! You're the first artist I started binging on when trying out this art form last year. This video is pretty awesome. I'm working on a smallish 16x20 canvas for an earth and air pour. Actually, Earth and background will be the only pour and air will be using brushes. Earth will have a poured galaxy background, air will have gradient blues probably with iridescent, very transparent white swoops using the narrow part of a paddle brush or scraping. I need some advice on how to blend the 2 backgrounds without the white having a stark starting point. If anyone can help me it's you. Thank you for all the helpful vids❤

    Hey Molly, I come across your videos when looking for things to get into with my 12 year old. I have to say I’m super excited to try some of the techniques you show and your work is beautiful! We did our first dirty pour this weekend and LOVED doing it! Only thing is I’m having a hard time really understanding how to stretch out our paint. So a few questions here.
    1. What size your your paint tubes? 120ml, 250ml?
    2. When you take the color from the tube are you mixing it with some kind of base to make the quantity of the paint more so you use less actual color? I see everyone with their paint in a cup so is that when you would add water or something else?
    3. With the torch, is that the only way to get the “cells” effect?
    I love love love your whole plan here with the nine pieces!!!
    Thanks for your time and videos!

    • @MOLLYSARTISTRY
      @MOLLYSARTISTRY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! That's awesome you jumped right in! I use all different size paint tubes. Yes I mix with a pouring medium, you can use floetrol, or another medium and water for consistency. The torch is for air bubbles but can create cells if you are using silicone. If you look on my page I have an entire playlist for beginners!

    This is an excellent tutorial, I like your review of the brushes. NOTE: when you back up to do the actual tutorial it becomes harder to hear you. It might be wise to use a clip on mike. I don't know if you have a FULL tutorial on different bushes, and a full tutorial on the different types of acrylics and how they compare, but if you don't have these they would be really helpful to newbies like me.
