For Satyanarayana or Vishnu a lot of folks use 1000 tulsi leaves as the chanting of his 1000 names is an integral part.

you really shouldn’t do a set up for Shradh or 10/12/13 day Shraadha Puja, unless someone has actually passed away. It’s a very closed part of the religion and it’s not to be shared, unless you guidance help from a pandit, etc.
