- While being in Agra and also as part of getting ready for the Taj Mahal visit, I had to go for a haircut to be pretty. Once I arrived the gentlemen told me quite a high price, and after I mentioned where I stay, the price went down 3 times. Also, I added up face massage which was my first experience ever. I let you decide if it looked painful or is an actually fun thing to experience?

I'm Indian and for this much service mostly they charge 300-200 rupees for local indians, but only haircut price is 70-80 rupees and for beard 60-70 rupees

They originally tried to scam him, charging him 3-5x what they normally charge any local. Thats whats annoyong. Not what I see when I think of Hospitality...

Tourists feel the need to get there and try to haggle prices despite them already being low so I can only imagine to counter locals boost prices for outsiders as well, knowing they can surely afford them considering they’re on vacation.

@@recognizereal7ify I am from India...Even I feel scammed when I get charged 1000 rupees for a haircut that includes 5 minutes of haircut and 10 minutes of hair dryer in a big well known salon...I should not feel the need to cut my hair for show off and that too every week...I should not be forced by those big salons to buy the products they are marketing after getting unsatisfactory haircut...
Here I think they had prices written down on a the wall...He just didn't noticed it...And you know even the prices of visiting well known tourist places are 5 times higher for foregners as compared to a local resident. So people can't help it when they see a chance to get more money.
Plus time has gone when I used to get 100 rupee haircut from a locally settled barber. And I am sure he will still do a better job as compared to the high fi shops which charges 10x for haircut and then leave you with a haircut that will only look good until you don't shower. Those barber only knows how to use a hair dryer... I was frusted because of them. But I finally found someone who knew what kind of hair I had and how he could make them look better without using a haur dryer or cream or nitrogen to set them...
But I am sure, Davud was just testing their honesty.

Im sorry but Im not seing what everybody seems to be seeing… I dont think you would interact with a white barber as you did with him here. « Do this, not that - slowly ! - is the blade a new one ? - too much cream … » and so on. I pay 40$ here in the states for nearly the same type of service at a korean barber. If i go to another country (india for example) and i am told 300 rupee (3.82$ american) my eyes will pop out of my head from surprise at the low price and i will gladly gift the barber an extra 20$ on top of his price for cutting my hair, afterwards.

I've never seen a guy complain and talk so much during a haircut and face massage. Try to relax the next time and enjoy and don't annoy the barber the whole time
Never have had a Haircut in India but it looks so interesting.... I have been to India thrice and I love the vibe, the weather is not so cool and not so hot, you can just roam the city in Hoodies or Pullovers, also if you have had friends in India, they'll offer you to ride bikes, also People in India are so sweet, they invite you to your house and feeds you and the food they cook is vegetarian but it's so delicious... If you go to Indian Village you'll find it peaceful, small ponds, big fields crop and people from all over the village will like invite you to their houses and offers tea and snacks... Also, they enjoy watching the Cricket matches so much, inshort they are fun people and very respectful, there's lot of cows in Indian Villages too, and they offer you the purest milk, it's so healthy and untreated... Also Girls in India are so sweet and ready to help, unlike USA who say "I have a boyfriend" every fucking time you try to be nice with them...

I am British, my girl friend is Indian. she started my facial routine for me and my skin has changed A LOT. I started to drink more water as well because of her and I think that is a big factor in clearer skin.

Why do I always feel that this man always shows India in a bad light. After watching the video one can clearly say that this is not an absurd massage at all and even the barber did not cheat him or charge him with high amount but still he says its an absurd massage. Greetings Davud, I really enjoy your videos and shared experiences, please keep on doing that. But a small piece of advice: maybe try to relax a little bit more while for example visiting a barber shop. This guy is doing his job, he does it all day and probably for years. So just sit back and wait for him to tell you when he is finish giving you the massage for example. Don't ruin your own experience by trying to stand up and keep talking and saying stuff like "too much cream" "you finish yet?". It is one of the reasons your eyes teared up all the time. Just keep them closed my friend! This was a pretty typical basic indian barber visit where you just get your trim and massage. Just enjoy the full package.

Hello Lesli, I think you are a follower for a while now. Really appreciate the time you took to give feedback. My travels are mostly about giving back and helping the community that I travel in. If you have seen my other videos, then you know I pay for things more than normally they are. I feel it is also my responsibility as a tourist to spend money in that country.
Nobody wants to be cheated. Imagine he says 1000 rupees and I say okay and just go with it, just because I am a tourist? Can you imagine how stupid I would like to the audience?
Also saying the right price is about honesty and being a good person, and not trying to make an extra dollar easy way. Good things come to good people. So if I know he is honest with me, then I will pay 2-3 times more than the price.
Hopefully, I can give you a different perspective. But I totally get it, the extra dollar will not kill me. But imagine I have to spend "extra" on every dishonest person I meet. I also do not make money from the sky.

Dude you need to tell them what kind of service you need, they are not gonna give u all of this on the price for just getting a haricut, i am from Bihar and i get all of this for 230 to 250 everytime i visit a regular barber, it not uncommon anymore. Also he is a foreigner and we Indians always have special affection for foreigners(enough that we let Britishers stay here for almost 200 years and sent them off with trillion dollars worth of wealth in forms of Gold and invaluable items) that's why he went little ahead to provide him his best service. He earned more than what he asked for this is called mutual benefit and equal respect however i see he didn't enjoyed the massage but u see a unique experience for sure.
