Hi Sweden here! I just wanna say that your channel is one of the best in cyberspace, keep up the good work.
Cant believe I missed this! Really glad the flies made it to you sir! Hope you managed to get some use out of them. All the best from the UK.
I learned to hand whip finish when i was a kid in the 90s. Couldn't figure out how to use the tool and there were no youtube videos showing😂 had no idea how to use the tool until a few years ago...didn't even have one. It is nice though now that I figured it out 😂
Congrats on the fly tying article 🤟 your videos well rock, never a dull moment with you,a breath of fresh air in the fly tying & fishing video world, keep them coming friend, tight lines & bent rods 🤟🤙
u make great vids love ur stuff
Thanks!!
I'm happy I grabbed one of those half hitch/hair packers when I did
Good! I have had some pretty crazy offers on mine.
I have read that article in fly tyer. Was an awsome read
Cool, thanks!
I just bought a loon. Ergo bobbin taking your advice ,hope you can duck if it’s no good! Lololol
HAHAHA! I have the reflexes of a cat!
learned how to whip finish without the tool ions ago. Then I got the tool. Unless you lose your whip finisher while tying (and why not have 2?)...why learn to whip finish without it? I liken it to asking people learn things like Latin or writing in cursive etc. Just get the tool and rock on. Love your videos. Lots of really good tips! Thanks
great video! went to my loon tying tools case & viola! i have the arrow scissors to cut the wire. i wish dead fly would come back with the packer! need me some magnets!!
Check out the links for the stuff in the description of the video....I made it super easy!!
Absolutely love all the content! Any more of the Streamer fishing series on the horizon?
Thanks! There are definitely more Streamer Tactics coming....I need underwater video for the next part and winter isn't a great season to get UW footage.
@@flyfishingtheozarks That sounds AWSOME!!!!! Thanks again for all the good content man!
When I saw your dead fly video on packing hair years ago I made a few similar packers on my wood lathe, the back end of mine I made into a hair stacker, the front is the half hitch/ packer side....wish I was good enough to tie some worthy flies...like you.
Very cool! Would love to see s picture!
MN fly tool is close to the dead fly tool.
@@flyfishingtheozarks I'll get something together for ya
Thanks for the video Brian. Out of curiosity, is the shorter wooden tool you had at the end a product from deadfly as well? I've been looking at getting something similar for when I do hair flies as well.
The shorter halfhitch was made for me by a friend before Deadfly came along.
Check out MN Fly Tool! Very similar concept.
When I look up the loon bobbin they are the cone type how do I get the round type
For what it's worth, I the cone is WAY better than the round rubber.
@@flyfishingtheozarks I have to cone one and it makes this squeaking and I can not stand it do you know how to fix that??
The metal cones?? Never had a metal cone squeak!
Please, please tell my wife you can't have too many fly rods. I think I have about 15 fly rods and about 15 other type rods not even counting the 3 or 4 old school cane rods I have, and she thinks it too many. She just doesn't understand I guess. But on a serious note. I have a Renzetti vice I need to move into my motor home with me (and the wife). Do you know if anyone makes a case for vices with a pedestal base? Keep the good stuff coming.

GREAT Case!!
That 2nd bobbin holder you showed is interesting and the last time I saw it, it was only a prototype. Were you the one that created the start up company for its development and manufacturing. I seen to recall a Go Fund Me page (not sure it was Go Fund Me) and I understood that it never made it to the marketplace/wide distribution. What is your opinion about the new Loon bobbin holder. I hate to say it because I’m friends with those guys and have a pro account with them, but it horrible. The delrin on the support arms squeak against virtually all spools and its simply too large and heavy. It’s larger than all salt water holders...
Yes! I was sold on the idea for a carbon fiber bobbin that was the answer to the Rite Bobbin. I wanted the Rite bobbin to work for me so bad.....but I strip the arm out of the handle on ALL of them. The carbon bobbin kind of died in its tracks and I went back to the tension style bobbins and haven't looked back. The squeaking on the Loon bobbin never bothered me when it was a thing. All of mine either don't do it anymore or only do it when I pull thread really fast. The size is what I actually like most about it....if I only tied little flies I would go with the Loon All Purpose bobbin vs the full-size Ergo.
Great video. Holy f$%@&!g ads, though, Batman!
Yeah, youtube throws a lot of ads at longer videos. Appreciate you watching though!!
UK?now u got the Rona from the package
He said that she called him a failed stripper and my beverage shot out of my nose!
Oh, sure....take her side! 😉
