Absolutely fantastic!!! You, my friend, are the reason that I do not give up on humanity! There's still so much beauty out there! God bless you and keep doing what you're doing!
Very nice keyboard playing! We were laughing here because on the left we have the SAME keyboard :) Thanks for the inspiration to play ITM on my keyboard, I think I will do a split and use some Irish session "sounds" for the melody and comping. gártha!
Class piano playing. I love hearing the piano in ITM as more than just random backup chords. Arcady has some good piano playing melody as well. Them and this is best piano ITM I've heard.
Phenomenal! Also working on piano (and piano accordion) in ITM. Love your take on all these tunes, the anticipation of the melody notes would certainly kick a fiddle player into overdrive at a session. Happy to discover your channel.
Really enjoyed your work Jerone. You're doing so well with making variations in dynamic level between the notes of the RH. It gives the piano melody a better reel feel than in some piano melody playing I've heard. I loved hearing you play, and I'll look forward to hearing more!
hey very nicely done! ive been playing clssical, boogie, and jazz piano.. .. im also a fan of irish music... :) so that got me interested to start learning some basic reels. like the irish washerwomen... but i cant get my hands on anything as complex as this for piano.. . and very nicely done again :) itll be fun to have a chat with you about some reels and stuff :)
Lovely stuff Jerone. I surfed in here after reading a comment where your videos were mentioned on The Session. I'm on there under my real name of Alexander Gurgan. Nice to see and hear someone from The Session!
That's difficult man...I know those reels well and often tried playing them from my head on the piano...always ended up making a mistake...Two of the most popular reels in Ireland...well done...
Hi Jerone, Solidmahog from the session.org with you, I loved it, and yeah big reels, played really well I may add. I knew it was you from your name on the a side bar vid, couldn't be anyone else. Keep up the good work; trad soul brother !!!
Hi from Belgium! I once heard on RnaG aka Raidió na Gaeltachta a few sets of tunes, reels and jigs the melody played on the piano, and not just backing. Has anyone any album recommendations for piano as melody in Irish trad? Or Scottish trad too? It’s very rare. I didn’t see anything on The Session website sadly. :/ Nice job here too. :)
Fantastic!!!! I've been playing Irish music for years and this takes it to a whole new funky level - really original and beautifully played. More Please!!! :) (any chance you could do a version of the awesome silver spear reel please?)
The piano has a clear sound handy for learning by ear. I see guitars in the back. Do you also play Irish ríleanna on the axe? Flatpicking by any luck? Sláinte! Tomás pleasant piano sound 👍🏻
groove kicked in nicely when the left hand was added... good stuff... weighted keys? Might be easier to get the kind o action on the ornaments of a piano accordion player with unweighted keys. Where you live? You playing in any good sessions?
This is an original arrangement and I haven't transcribed it. I'm sorry :/ Irish tunes are melody based and their bass lines have to be arranged. You can find the melodies for the tunes all over the internet. www.thesession.org
I have those transcriptions put together. I'll just go ahead and put my email here. jeronewilliamsmusic@gmail.com Sorry this took so long, but I hadn't originally planned on writing them out.
It's difficult to explain because I'm still studying the theory behind Irish piano. Basslines and chords in Irish music are open to a lot of interpretation, and it's taking some time understanding what's really happening "under" the melody. However, in these two particular tunes, I picked out a certain "style" that I felt fit the melodies. That style is demonstrated in this video of a different tune that I transcribed from another musician. th-cam.com/video/fOCt5JnnoTs/w-d-xo.html

I arranged this myself but I never wrote it down. It wouldn't be difficult to write out though. I have most of the music already written out in other settings, I'll just need some time to piece things together. Note: it wouldn't be the exact video version, but would be the tunes written in a standard format. I also made mistakes in the video so those would also be ironed out in the sheet music.
@@michaelcharlinepaquette3342 How should I send you these files? My facebook link should be in my video description if you want to trade emails privately. If not, it would be in one of my most recent video descriptions. Sorry if this one isn't updated. Unable to check at the moment.
I have a question or two: one, can you write with both hands as well? and two: did you take lessons? I know it sounds absurd to ask especially the second question, but I played by ear without lessons, and ( later in life, age 13) after 5 years of lessons, i took first place in State. all without being able to read music,.i faked it. I wish that i had learn to read( better), so that I could teach. but it wasnt in the cards. I guess three questions, what DID you do with your God given talent?( and as for the handwriting question, i cant write equally with both hands, TERRIBLE handwriting, also can mirror write(for example both hands on a chalk board, writing a word, one going right, one going left, but backwards. they say only 2 percent of population can do that. einstein could. and i bet you could as well.oddly enough, i also won scholarships for drawing. if only i could draw cursive! but no, my hands wont let me do that! funny thing, hands.I also suck at correct puncutation. sorry.
Thank You for your reply! I was FLOORED when you said fiddle. I actually, played three years of Suzuki vioiln before i started piano. My teacher was sooooo mean( she was a Nun) and actually locked us students in her house to cut up onions for a spaghetti dinner she invited us over for. she meant well, in retrospect.i guess..but it was because of her, I was afraid to learn sheet music. SO, I strongly suggest, that you are a nice teacher. or , you will have a student in the future like, me, who is gifted, but had a bad experience, that didnt become picasso. so to speak. I became an author. jonnie kingsland. someday, youll see that name, and be all," shes that talented no body, from out of the blue, that has many typos, and no chance at being anybody. lol. Id love for you to see my song i wrote, before i go. God Bless you, friend, i feel that you will be great in much more ways than you expected. th-cam.com/video/XsNSE5KwUAU/w-d-xo.html
Sorry to barge in again, I just Know talent when i see it, and life is short, and it seems not alot of talent arounf anymore, so i come across as a busybody. Well fantastic feel coming from a Irish man who loves to play trad
I feel like starting to dance while listening to your music.
thank you for soothing music!!
His timing is really good and the extra (non-traditional) ingredient he brings to it is a touch of good-old razzmatazz.
Fab. playing, from an old Irish lady...
Made me smile during a pretty rough patch. Thanks for sharing your talent.

Where can one find the sheet music for these reels?
A great resource is thesession.org/tunes - can download sheet music and MIDI files.
Hello,
Can you please tell me where I can find the sheet music for this?

😆 That's hilarious!
