Super cool exploration at Koh Lanta, Ken. It's like you are back in a Malaysian "kampung" 👍👍 It's always wonderful to see this non touristy places where tourists will not visit. Just like you, l, too, like to see this type of village vibes. Interesting to "follow" you around that small " bazaar ramadan"...lots of food/drinks to choose. A nice spot, facing a "pirate " ship to try your food and sugar cane drink 😋😋 Interesting content, always fun and entertaining to watch your vlog. Great job, Ken 💪
Ken, that tool used by the lady to chase the monkey is called a catapult or slingshot. Can you still remember the video you filmed in a Malaysian kampung where a group of boys used it to shoot birds?
If you go into local hardware shops, where they sell all the nets, wires, scarecrows, etc the locals use, not western style you see in the big cities, catapults are cheap and easy to find, just before the last rice harvest when hundreds of tiny birds appear to steal the rice, the locals use catapults to launch high into the air over the fields small quite loud bangers to scare the birds away, early morning and late in the afternoon, I don’t need an alarm clock to wake me in the morning.
Dear Ken! Your videos keep me alive these days. I can't say enough how jealous I am of you! The weather is finally reaching 15 degree in Bayern. The winter and the lockdown here are just toooo looong 😭😭😭

Did you go to long beach, khlong dao and saladan? The beaches further down south are best. from khlong nin to Kantiang bay. There are some cool sunset bars on long beach and khlong dao.
Hi Ken, interesting video, a pro dominantly Muslim island in Thailand, it must be the most peaceful place ever! I would love to see further south but for you I would recommend going back to that beautiful girl in Bangkok😊
Hi Ken, since you are at Koh Lanta, you should try to visit Koh Mut and the emerald cave which you can only access through a sea water cave system when the water is not too high. Very beautiful and exciting! Or if you travel further down, you can also access it from Trang.
I stayed here in 2019 and thought 'I recognise that bike', it's the same one I hired from the Blue Andaman place! haha. I know this is an old vid, but I had to comment.
Go to the National Park if its not raining, theres a waterfall on the way as well. Its on the other side of the south of the island. The is beautiful kantinag beach, bamboo beach, secreat beach and klong nin beach. South west part of the island have the best sunset view. Then up north we have Pra Ae Long beach and klong dao beach.
Try to discover koh lipe. It is very crowded in old times but great. Now it should be just brilliant. You need to take 2-4 days. The transportation is not very cheap because distance and the prices are a bit higher but the nature is great

In the south while your around the area maybe look into, koh muk, and kradan as well as lipe and bulone leh. Ken wandering in a "kampung" in Thailand... Actually, you area getting pretty close to the Malaysian border, thought you wanted to see things from the other side...... From my visit to the Malaysia-Thai border region (in Narathiwat Province) it did indeed seem a lot like rural Kelantan. Except the Thais do a better job at preserving the forests than we do - just across the border into Malaysia they've logged it pretty mercilessly. The place names were mainly corrupted Malay - you'd have to think about what they were (for instance, there was a place called "Bukita" - obvious "Bukit something", but what exactly we weren't able to find out. My favorite was Baan Gajahmati (Dead Elephant Village) - there's a Kampung Gajah Mati in Pahang, some distance north of Mentakab.
Ken A lot of Southern Thailand islands are muslim majority like Koh Lanta, Koh Lipe, Koh Yao Noi as well as strong Muslim population in Krabi/Ao Nang. I was in Koh Lanta old town during my motor bike tour of Thailand, my favourite part of the island, the west side is far too busy, but my son and his wife and son seemed to enjoy it when they visited for Christmas. 2019/20.
Avoid BKK for the time being. The government is considering to impose a full lockdown. More details should be released on Wednesday. Think about where you would like to be if more local lockdowns will be announced. Maybe head over to the other side (Gulf of Thailand) and spend time on another island like Koh Samui.
P'Ken You can try to go to north or northeast (Isaan), you will find many new things. Different parts of Thailand, people live differently, different food, different language (there are local languages of each region according to the adjacent country, which part of Thailand Except Burmese language) 2 parts of Thailand There are world-class mountain roads such as waterfalls, rivers, cave, cliffs (recommended "Mae Hong Son Loop" and "Khao Kho", you can find them on TH-cam ) For the north, it is recommended to go during September Northern region in the winter season or the end of the year is beautiful and the weather is very good.😁 Or "Kanchanaburi", you can visit many beautiful waterfalls in the park area, sleep in the forest or a hotel room on a raft. This province is also interesting because there are a lot of attractions and activities to do.😁🙏
@@KenAbroad If you go to the North during June or July, you will only encounter the rain. June or July, it's better to go to the Northeast (Isaan), then go to the North during September or October. During that time, Chiang Mai There will be a Loi Krathong festival and a floating lantern. Because the rainy season in the north during June and July is very heavy, but in Isaan just passed the dry season, the rainy season in late May into June Making the Isan area will be greener and beautiful and the weather is much better if I recommend it.😁😁
@@nuttsrisukplung1318 I'd like to find out how to visit the Bun Bang Fai (Rocket Festival) next year - the problem is it's hard to get information - where the launch sites are, which city would be best to stay in, even when exactly it takes place (I know it's in mid-may, but the dates do seem flexible). I think some enterprising small travel agent could do very well offering a Bun Bang Fai package - several days hotel stay, transportation, food, maybe visits to rocket-making workshops. I've been to Udon Thani twice, it's a nice town for taking long walks and looking around, but not a rocket in sight! I suppose I'd need to rent a car (or motorbike ) to actually get to the rocket launch fields.
@@iskandartaib You try searching the Thai Wikipedia with the word "งานบุญบั้งไฟ in thai word". You will find all the answers in there because each province hosts different events on the same day. Mainly, Bun Bang Fai Festival is located in Yasothon Province, held every Saturday and 2nd Sunday of May (week 2 in may only sat, sun). 3rd Saturday and Sunday in May Read on for details on the Thai Wikipedia. Then translate it into English, you will get all the answers.😁😁🙏
