I just figured out where I heard the song Mordin sings. It's a modified version of "Major-General's Song" from Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance. I knew it sounded familiar.
It was a pretty possitive video for a game that has been lambasted at other places like Jim Sterling. Bugs and connection issues seem to be different for people and the game seems to be fun when it works.
I couldn’t get behind the ending. They dropped the mystique of being an Altered and went with the age-old trope of “slavery bad, humans bad.” Like, dude, come on, you could’ve gone with some deep metaphysical journey into being an Altered with Seth being your douchebag not-mentor. Such potential for some jaw-dropping boss fights, too, left abandoned to leave room for a sequel.
@@barrymcballs I have to agree, the BBEG Moloch was a pathetic excuse for a bad guy! He showed up once and then at the last cutscene to do nothing but glare at the sky. The stereotype of Humans bad is so overdone nowadays that most things that do it feel just so bland. Outriders had a great story until the last 1/3rd of the game and it was fun until you realized that it was just an excuse to knock humans. I have to say though, technomancer with toxic was so much fun! I felt like a futuristic tech plague doctor that spread the plague instead of curing it. I called my character the public school system since he spread disease and toxicity. Overall: Fun game, bad ending.
The story was so suck ass that i skipped most cinematics about halfway through. The real meat of this game is the gameplay and how fun it can be with 3 players.
I'm actually surprised at how positive the overall "review" for Outriders here is, and it's actually appreciated. Despite a lot of the game's issues with its always-online system, questionable and sometimes archaic gameplay decisions, and some major game breaking bugs, once you get past those it's genuinely a fun experience, akin to the Diablo games of days past where I could lose track of time and not notice that I've played it for hours. It's also got one of the best loot systems I've seen in a looter that actually makes getting loot compelling, and even dismantling and selling loot has value. That said, this game definitely needs a hell of a lot more polish in order to bring it out of "okay" to "great".
Unfortunately, that's how the gaming industry has been operating recently. I had a red flag about outriders when the demo got released a week before launch and it became pretty much obvious that the demo was some sort of beta for them to get some feedback. Luckily for them, the game has potential and is actually fun to play. That's what got me hooked

I Dealt with my Issues of Fragging back in my Perfect Dark days when the NPC's would beg for mercy (sure it was the same for LoK, but i was a Vampire then), Fact is is that some times you Gotta Ride the Cole Train see your Therapist in the in-game Que, its cheaper

I really don't understand why people say this. They miss all the time. The grenade throwers miss, the snipers miss, the poison spitting monsters miss, the machine gun guys get less and less accurate the farther away they are, they hit but inefficiently. If you move around a lot they can miss. If you use the Technomancer time bubble you can literally step around bullets.
Playing in in 2022 they fixed all the bugs and gave a huge free update the game feels amazing and it’s getting a DLC in like three weeks really fun now is the best time to get into it

You guys were pretty harsh on Valheim, didn't even seem like the usual "just poking fun" kind of video, but somehow this game got a pass on all its problems. Like not being able to play for the first few weeks because of how bad the servers were. Not even single player as this game is always online. You'd be almost done with a mission then get disconnected and have to start it over from the beginning. I remember having to play the intro 3 effing times because the servers were so bad. Peoples entire inventory being deleted including their stash, and waiting for weeks without getting any of it back, only to level a second character and have it happen again. And you don't get any kind of xp buff for alts after you beat the main story, you just gotta grind it out each time. There was a bug for the first few weeks that if you went into your inventory you'd crash. Imagine going into your inventory in a looter shooter. At one point we made a rule "No checking your inventory for at least 3 runs." because the game crashed that damn much.... Zero communication for multiplayer, not even text. You just join a rando's game and are along for the ride with no clue what they have in mind of doing or what kind of teammates they are looking for. And if the host gets disconnected/crashes/or just leaves the game, you either get stuck in an infinite loading screen or just crash. They have low dmg tank classes with the only end game being a dps race, and the tanks can't even taunt stuff. If you wanna play a tank class then you might as well just solo because enemy scaling per player is also way overtuned, making it really hard for tanks to get groups. They made it harder to get gold times on end game runs because of a few op classes and didn't even try to help out the classes that were already underperforming, which made getting gold times even harder for them. And when they nerfed the op classes they also nerfed aspects of those classes that bled over into other classes, which hurt them even more than the reduced gold times. I played through the campaign with 2 friends and did a decent amount of end game, so you know I'm not someone that played for 2hrs then ran crying to the forums at my first inconvenience. We dealt with constant inventory crashes, crashing because the host crashed and the game couldn't even do something as simple as send us back to the main menu, server disconnects, etc. It was terrible. We made it to around T12 before we just had to give up to the bugs/crashes.

While the characters leave something to be desired, the overall story and lore is great. I certainly did not expect it to get so dark near the end.
