    For those wondering, measurements were done with the GRAS RA0402 coupler and shouldn't be directly compared to measurements done on 0045 equivalents. Also, the Samsung app does have a number of EQ presets, and I recommend trying out the 'soft' one in particular as it reduces the upper mids a bit.

    • @KirkLazurus
      @KirkLazurus 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used my old buds + with soft eq. reduced the shout a great deal.

    • @sweetlows1
      @sweetlows1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      i have the original pros and they work with the Wavelet app for EQ which apply harman (which you can then apply a "strength" to as well on how much it sticks to that) AND you can have a custom EQ on top of that to tweak it further and i find it works like a charm. It auto detects whats connected too so if i use WHXM4 and switch over to the buds pro, the app switches too a super handy, free, EQ. Great if you have multiple headphones from multiple companies and want an all controlling app.

      @@KirkLazurus thats a good idea, i was doing the same with my galaxy buds2 , but i found the bass became a it too prominent, (i think the soft preset blunts a lot of the treble too) so i left it on default and i guess i got use to it for the most part. Still a bit shouty though . If i can target the upper mids maybe a the lower treble a tad it would be fine, and maybe drop the bass quantity( keep the curve) a tad it would be fine

      It's kind of weird. Clear that you wanted to deliver an unbiased overview, but you went ahead and you bought a Samsung phone, and delivered the overview using their ecosystem. I'm guessing using a Pixel phone with the build-in EQ would allow you to oomph out just that bit of difference that you can manage using the Samsung phone with their Buds. I'm just sad to see that the Android eco-system is going into the Apple direction - OnePlus works better with OnePlus, Samsung works better with Samsung..

    I have had the galaxy buds, galaxy buds pro, galaxy buds live and now just received my galaxy buds 2 pro. I can say without a doubt these are Samsung's best buds to be released, they are comfortable and fit very well with little to no ear fatigue. I went on a run with them last night and not once did I have to adjust them. I am no audiophile but these sound nice a and crisp with no distorting and the ambient mode sounds a lot more natural then the rest of the buds. Personally I believe these are a must have if you are using Samsung products.

    My only complaint on the Buds2 Pro is the lack of a full EQ because I'm not like everyone else that like that V-shape EQ, I boost the mids in every headphone I have, other than that WOW, if other reviewers say there is no upgrades in the B2P from the regular Pros they are WRONG, just for the Bass alone I will have to retire my L3P because I carry 3 different set of earbuds for different purposes, now I will just carry the Buds Live and the Buds 2 Pro and will retire the L3P and the Original Pros.

    I bought the buds 2 regular for everyday use, those are suuuuper convenient for sports/gym and casual stroll around the city.
    But... for those looking for a way to really isolate themselves from the rest of the world, an Etymotic + Bluetooth DAC is still the best way to do it, virtually nothing with active ANC can reach that level of noise blocking, and one advantage I discovered from a recent flight is that they don't have that cabin pressure effect like most headphones do...

    I recently purchased the Galaxy Buds2 Pros, and I'm rather pleased with the ANC. It really tones down the noise (and the not-to-my-taste background music) in a couple of my favorite restaurants. The voice detect automatically switches into Ambience mode, so when the server comes to take my order, I don't have to pull a bud to hear them, then switches back automatically a few seconds after I stop talking.
    Wired IEMs generally are limited to passive noise reduction only, and unless you're listening in a nice, quiet room (and if you're in a nice quiet room, why aren't you using REAL headphones?), ANC is pretty nice to have.
    I'm a bit older than Resolve (and probably have some high frequency hearing loss), so the upper mids and treble sound ok, to me. I wonder if Harmon included some older people in their test surveys, when they developed their target curve. That might explain their boost in the upper mid/treble range.

      How is experience vs the xm5 ?

    • @geekatari4391
      @geekatari4391 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Kaijosuoh I kept the XM5s because my ears keep spilling the buds, just any buds, they never stick. Eating with them is a constant push them back in place.
      They both sound alike. The buds 2 pro paired with a compatible Samsung phone (I still rock the Fold 4) does make the sound wider and very clean, with the mids very audible and trebles just there, not too warm. The XM5 still have more punch in the bass, and that kind of swallows the treble and makes the mids sound hidden, but it is not that drastic as it sounds.
      Anc is better in thr XM5s imo, and transparency is quite good, too. The buds 2 pro do the job well, just not as good.
      If you want buds and have a Samsung phone which supports Samsung Seamless Codec, definitely the buds 2 pro are excellent; for any other phone pairing, the XM5s are still king in my book.
      I had the chance to try the Ananda Stealth and the Edifier Stax Spirit s3, these two make the XM5 sound like if it were playing music inside of a shoe box, they are a different level, ultra clear, crisp quality; and vs the buds 2, I'd say the sound similarly clear, but the S3 are just super detailed 👌🏻 and warm, whereas the Anandas are as detailed, but with bass and not as warm. The S3 are bluetooth and wired provides no real noticeable difference in the two days I had with them, impressive sound for bluetooth headphones. The Ananda need a usb-c adapter, I have a helm bolt dac and using Tidal was the cream of the cream!
      I hope this helps you in your journey for the best listening experience.

      @geekatari4391 thanks for the detailed reply, I do share the love for sony in their sound signature,
      I used to run my xm4's Daily,
      yet I came across this update that degrades the headphones battery performance, it used to last about 7-8 hours, now it won't hold more than 15 minutes such a shame really .
      Then I came across the situation of deciding whether to repair my pair or get a new pair instead then I saw that the galaxy pros 2 are half the price of both the xm4 and xm5 so I needed to clarify my options first.
      According to ur comments yes I agree the sony's have amazing bass punchy with presence, my xm4's has good mids and excellent separation along with broad bass not too boomy or lacking "just perfect " now it's battery got ruind.
      So ya am still very skeptical about the galaxy pros 2 ,even tho I use an s23
      I need like a proper differentiation between the two buds to get it cleared up

    • @geekatari4391
      @geekatari4391 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Kaijosuoh I had the XM4s and I gave them away to a coworker who has special needs, he was always buying cheap buds. I liked the sound better on the XM4s, the XM5s is punchy, but more neutral. I tried them wired and you still have to turn them on, otherwise they sound absolutely horrendous.
      The battery on the XM5s is good, about 30 hours. The buds 2 pro go for like 8 in a charge and the case charge them relatively quick, like an hour or less ans it charges them around three times before it needs to be recharged, too, which is also quick.
      Since you came from the XM4s, I am sure you'd enjoy the XM5s more than the buds 2 pro. The buds with their virtualization mimic a wider soundstage than Sony, though, which I really liked; but the XM5s were more comfortable and not having to charge them every day made them win for me. I keep Dolby atmos enabled on my Fold 4 and it gives some soundstage to the Sonys, but the buds 2 pro are definitely better at that.

I have a modded Ebony X00 (my favorite pair I own) and an Edition XS sitting next to me as we speak, and for wireless the Focal Bathys and Maxwell, among many others. Like most of you, I've bought way too much crap. At any rate, I never said wired wasn't better. Relax. I'm saying it's more difficult to tell the difference than it used to be, and you can have a perfectly enjoyable with a decently built pair of bluetooth headphones. If I spend a while listening to the Bathys, I have to A/B with one of my better wired headphones just to remind myself they actually sound better. I don't find myself wanting for more when I'm listening to my Bathys.
      YMMV
      As I said, sound is subjective. Perhaps your ears are just better than mine.

    Noticing the logo change for the first time: "Look at how they massacred my boy".
    May the Pink Floyd-y logo rest in piece.
    In all seriousness, new one looks cool: it's a good idea to change design language from time to time, personally i dig orange.
    While most people translate yellow with energetic happiness, orange mostly translates to both a relaxed and quiet happiness and curiosity, orange is the perfect color to represent your average audiophile.
    Heck, many peopoe paint their HD800S or HD800 in orange.

    Kindly ask about how the ANC performs in the wind. AirPods Pro has the best physical design to minimise the wind blowing into the ANC microphone; the pixel buds pro performance is pretty bad in the wind. Once it detects wind for specific periods of time, it will reduce the depth of ANC to reduce wind noise. What about the Samsung one?

    • @armchairowlyst
      @armchairowlyst 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just "tested" this by turning my fan to max speed (albeit not a super powerful model but still fairly strong) and blowing it into my face, and honestly I didn't really notice the wind. It's still there of course, but I think it's only something you will notice if you're REALLY listening for it. Obviously this will depend on the volume of your music (I use fairly low volumes) and the speed/direction of the wind, but it sounded solid.

    I wasn' t impressed by the Buds2 Pro sound out of the box. Mids where too scooped out and had no detail and sounded bit plasticky. Even tho on some IEMs and TWS tips dont make huge difference i decided to try different IEM tips, most either dont fit the case or stay on stems properly, but spinfit W1 sound amazing to my ear, they boost midrange and get rid of that plasticy sound. It also sounds more detailed and natural, especially vocals. It opens up the soundstage and makes separation alot better. Be aware tho, only small size fits the case. The small size on W1 is abit larger than most of the small tips (11,5mm), they fit abut the same as original medium size tips. Only negative thing is that they sometimes still get detached from stems (happens around once every 30-40 times i take em out on an angle). ANC/passive noise cancelation gets noticably stronger too. Stock tips are super thin silicone. With W1 tips, they sound the best TWS ive heared by far beating out my first gen airpods pro and also moondrop aria by alot. They sound like slightly less detailed version of my letshouer s12 pro.

    I just order a black pair of the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro at Best Buy to pick up today in New York City. No one in their reviews discuss using these Galaxy Buds 2 on their Samsung S95B OLED Smart 4K Television. I do have a Samsung Smart cell phone but I have Bluetooth in my car. I don't want to walk around with earbuds on talking on my cell. I wouldn't listen to music walking around or jogging with earbuds in fear of being mug, robbed, or shot. We are living in a dangerous society today and it is best to pay attention to your surroundings out in public. These Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro will be used only on my Samsung 4K OLED & QLED 4K Smart televisions. I do have a new Samsung tablet and I might use them on my new tablet.

    Dude your ANC's measurements are not correct. I was going to buy Samsung galaxy buds pro 2, but after multiple tests Pixel buds pro significantly beats Samsung galaxy buds pro 2. There is a huge difference. Currently, Pixel Buds pro has the best ANC among all wireless headphones. For pixel buds pro google uses their own algorithms to cut noise which works perfectly. And since ANC for me is the most important feature I am going to buy Pixel buds pro.

      Wrong. I have both and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, for example, don't leave a constant white noise sound like the Pixel Buds Pro. ANC is slightly better on the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.
