The barber was "so good" he removed the actual beard, in order to make it look cool... Poor guy. I have made this mistake myself i am afraid. Save 8 months, ONLY to have a stupid "professional remove the best part of my thick beard.

Get honest amish beard balm, to apply you need to emulsify it. I.e: Rub a small dollop of it in your hand, penny size or smaller, and rub your hands together until they’re warm. Get short boar bristle beard brush.
Pre-set up:
Constantly brush your beard with your boar brush. (Whenever you look in your bathroom mirror constantly, not on the go brush it out.)
Setup:
Post shower, dont dry your beard. Emulsify beard balm. Rub evenly into wet beard, brush beard until roughly dry, or to total dryness. (Prefrence is what matters.)
Optional:
Coconut oil helps add additional oils to your beard for anti-tangling properties, (lubricant basically).

yea it's a straightening technique using a dryer and brush, look it up on youtube, very easy to do to straighten a wavy beard

sorry, but this accurate straight cut and the finely cleaned contours have nothing in the least to do with Vikings. The Vikings did not have this possibility. Neither does the accurate haircut with short layers with a clean side parting
You shouldn't straighten a beard with a blow dryer & then cut it. It will look completely different after the next shower. The last one looks the best as no blow dryer used.
