Mike did a killer job on this. I still have a set of the scale gear and equipment for this model and I have been working on a plug. I would love to be able to get together with him and put his Tomcat and my EDF Skymaster Tomcat together. That would be incredible

That EDF F-14 has some crazy vertical climb like a turbine. The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is my favorite jet. I fell in love with it watching the original Top Gun. I'm building a Skymaster F-14 Tomcat ARF with an EDF conversion. I'll be using the DS-98DIA HST with DSM6043-650 on 14s. I hope it works out. It's going to be 29 lbs a side with that setup. I want to 3D print inlet ducts, which I'm having problems with. I hope I get it done before summer is over. Thanks for the cool videos. Love watching them while working on mine.
I was just flying one on the Real Flight sim last night. Still to this day my favorite airshow jet and hats off to Mike for making it happen. It would feel great just having one parked in the hanger.
Hi Chris, Awesome F-14 EDF and flight.. As much as I like the turbine powered jets, the EDF's are more my bag. Don't know if you remember Model Merchant from the 90's, I have one of the 1:10 F-15 kits still in the box designed by Duane Johnson. I intend to get it built someday and use two JP Hobby 90mm EDF's.

No Ailerons, full span flaps and spoilers. Spoilers aid tailerons with roll with wings out, they're inactive when swept. Can also use them a speedbrakes

I've seen some 14 Tomcats man ,BUT NO NOT LUKE THIS MAN . I have a twin 80mm freewing set-up nice 😂 atlases I thought 😂 MAN AFTER SEEING THIS I NEED DAMN PULL-UPS 😂😂😂😂 . LIKE WOW !
Yeah, those clips are slowed to 50% speed which I agree really enhances the scale looks. Thats why I do that on the shorts I post because the models present so cool that way. But, gotta who what it’s really doing in a feature like this. 😊
Yep! It has a pretty checkered history because this was actually built by yellow AC as their prototype for their own f14 kit which came to market at 1/9 scale vs 1/10.

I believe that he’s using a pair of 100mm or 110mm edfs. I’m pretty sure they’re 110mm, but I’ll double check.

Yep, as Mike mentioned they’re spoilers. They help to augment the roll control with the wings extended the same as the full scale.

No, unfortunately this a one of a kind model as there aren’t any manufacturers that make the tomcat at this size anymore.
Half speed or whatever you’re using at the intro looks so much more realistic. It is what it is I know.
