    I just wanted to thank whoever it is that puts these compilations together. The PGA highlights are basically just best shots compilation, with no editing to give you a feel for the battle for first place - they are not good. This manages to nicely balance both. Thank you USGA youtube folks.

    • @joellahrman4557
      @joellahrman4557 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well part of the reason was that he hit so many greens in regulation, but it was hard to get it close. So he wound up with a bunch of 30-footers and nobody is going to make a bunch of those. He hit a lot of good putts though, hard to believe that one of them didn't go in. The putts on 7 and 14 would have been nice, especially the one on 7 (the putt on 14 was very difficult), but it's otherwise hard to find where he made a mistake on the greens.

    It all came down to #14:
    Rory- dumps a 20 handicap-level wedge from the middle of the fairway into the heavy rough, makes bogey
    Wyndham- hits the 3 wood of his life to 20 ft, tap-in birdie
    Similar to the final round of the 2022 Open, Rory hit the ball tremendously but couldn't make a putt. Clark's chipping and lag putting were phenomenal. A deserving champ

      As 'Zinger' (Paul Azinger) said in his commentary, you HAVE to be able to lag putt, down the stretch at the US Open- so true- that's what won it for Wyndham. (not a bad up and down on 11, and a stud second shot on 14)

  • @A-FrameWedge
    @A-FrameWedge ปีที่แล้ว

    Great win for Clarke he played just well enough to win and had some really clutch up and downs in final round. So disappointed in Ricky Fowler, very few players had a final round score higher than him, his putter went cold and his inconsistent ball striking killed him. I could see when Fowler was swinging well he really waits and completes his backswing, but on his wayward shots he rushes his transition, which maybe doesn’t look like it compared to some players, but if you compare his good swings you can see it.

    Rory came very close again, but he just seems to lack that little extra, it's like he plays not to lose instead of playing to win. As long as Rory didn’t win, lol. I have nothing against him. I actually like Rory as he seems to be a genuine guy. But the golf media, in this PGA v LIV stuff, has ratcheted up their zestiness for Rory from a 3 to a 13. And if he had won, media coverage false glee would’ve been in OVERDRIVE for the next 2 weeks. I’m more happy for someone like Wyndham to win under these circumstances. And yes… I am petty. Fight me. 😆

      So you think he should just have taken a couple of hundred million, and he'd be better off anyways. Probably true. Financially. But some folks, after having already made hundreds of millions, don't live for more of that in a vacuum any more. I'm glad he stood up for what he believed, but in the end you'll get your wish because the money is so huge, that even Rory will eventually make an add for Riyad Air, and likely say nothing when the next reporter falls over dead in a restaurant from poisoning. For enough money, it seems, every one of us will even sell out of whatever we claim to believe.

      @@bishfrie 😆well I grew up there and that's just an urban myth. 😆Also, there are four seasons, and the city of Denver and many other populous areas of Colorado sit in the flat plains, east of the Rocky Mountain range.

    Clark closed the deal in golf's biggest stage for an American against the best in the world so you've got to give him a ton of credit. Getting that last 60 foot putt on 18 up there to pretty much tap in range was excellent. It will be interesting to see if this will propel him to taking the next step forward and consistently competing for wins. He's played in 137 events and only has 16 top 10s and one other win.
