Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
When looking at the calendar, what does it show as the first day of the week? In Jesus’ time, what we call Saturday now was the Sabbath, however; in the New Testament we find that Christians met in prayer, preaching & worship on the first day of the week which would be what we call Sunday. Read Acts 20:7. The first day of the week was also prophesied in Psalm 118:22-26. This Day spoken of is the Day our Precious Lord Jesus arose from the tomb. Sunday. We are now living in the New Testament Dispensation. We are now to come together in worship on this Wonderful Day of the Lord, Sunday. Remember, Jesus healed the sick and did many good things on the Sabbath, which angered the Jewish priesthood. I pray this helps you understand why the New Testament Church comes together on Sunday.
