- Dave Matthews Band plays a fake "Ants Marching" into "Halloween" on their 2nd night at Alpine in 2024. This show was rescheduled from the week before due to tornado warnings forcing a cancellation of that show.

We got The Last Stop.. and Halloween to close out both shows… I don’t think it gets to much better than that

I was there. A lot of people had already started going towards their cars at the encore break, and even more started moving once Ants started. Imagine being one of those people halfway to the gate and hearing Halloween start.
Personally, I was a tad disappointed to hear Ants for the 1000th time. But I accepted my fate and thought, "I can deal with it." It was a good fake. You got me good. Well played, DMB.

They really need to reinvent some of their old bangers, like having Tim R do Tim Henson guitar parts to #41 (Playing #41 to God) and on Grey Street (Grey GOAT Street), both of which I put together on my channel. Hopefully Dave will hear them one day or somebody from DMB
Keep in mind this is on a Sunday night. Some people have jobs to go to on Monday. A lot of people drove up from Deer Creek that day. As with a lot of venues, leaving 10 minutes early can mean you leave the parking lot an hour or two sooner.
Man, I would be so sad.

I've been fortunate enough to see Halloween 3x. This is a TRUE Ants fake (not just the drum intro) for die hard fans at Alpine. Holy smoke what a moment!!
I visited my buddy in Chicago years ago right after we got out of college we drove to Alpine and it's a special place for sure.
I've only been to 8-9 DMB shows and I knew my odds of hearing Halloween were slim to none. It's my favorite DMB song. I figured Halloween would most likely be off the table due to it being DMB's third show in 3 days. When they closed with Ants I didn't think much of it. When they switched over to Halloween it was instant goosebumps. For that one split second earlier in the week where I had to make a decision if I wanted to make another 14 hour round trip back to Alpine or make the more mature rational decision and refund my ticket and stay back with work. I'm glad I don't make good decisions. I couldn't even imagine what I would have done if I stayed back and found out they closed with Halloween. What an insane night it was! Thanks for the fantastic video!

Tim is way to fn heavy and truthfully he always has been imboydlosing eoi changed alot, but so did gaining jeff.
There was nothing gained in bonds absence. It changed loads of songs dynamics ..

I have to admit, I've rewatched the transition from Ants into Halloween like 10 times now 😂 I get chills every time! I was lucky enough to be in attendance in Charlottesville at the band's 25th anniversary celebration concert where they brought back The Last Stop after an extended hiatus... to say I lost my mind would be an understatement 😂 so that was awesome, obviously.... but I'd give anything to get Halloween live!!

The 2013 Alpine where he closed out the first set both nights with halloween was probably my favorite. night 1 went Ants>Halloween and night two was Watchtower>Halloween...Then both encores each night went crazy

@@Collins311buddy is better cuz he does the violin part that Boyd sucked too much to do. There’s recordings of him trying to do it and it’s abysmal.
