Hi all! Old but gold, Russian Mi-8 firefighting helicopter flying for UN has some hard time going through the language barrier. The ATC looses it completely at one moment. Fly Safe
FYI Every summer after the first of May The Hellenic State leases these helicopters for the firefighting season (at one moment the Russian pilot says he will fill the bucket), especially in Crete were the topography of the Island makes it very difficult for firefighters to approach the summer fires by foot on the mountains. The Greek chatter you are hearing is the Tower warning the Aegean Airlines 315 the the Russian pilot took off without clearance and she only knows his position is at 10 miles west of the IRA VOR, but she doesn't know his altitude. The Aegean flight 315 is about to take off from RWY 27 which is directly in line to the path of the helicopter, so caution is advised for the avoidance of an air collision between the helicopter and the airbus. #besafe #staystrong and always #safelandings! ❤❤❤❤❤😎😎😎😎
It should be noted, though, that probably, this crew has not been trained for international flight operations (only basic quick course, may be). Those are firefighters, who cares english, when there's a forest fire nearby.
No matter how great their firefighting and flying skills are, no matter how brave they are when fighting with fire - all of this can be useless when doing international operation like this, being barely able to communicate and cooperate with others, which could lead also to an accident.
Командир Жмышенко Валерий Альбертович, борт Бройлер две двоечки, одна восьмерочка, Жмых Эирлайнс, не важно как, не важно где, главное вместе, понял принял
ATC: "Say again, please?" Russian pilot: "Roger, departure, da, da, nas mnogo, nas mnogo, Alyosha, giv mi da vodka" Is this from some unreleased DLC from Metro games? :D
You are clearly lost in time. There is no Soviet Union for 30 years. I see here in the comments, only the lazy one did not spit in the direction of the Russians and Russia, but as it is hot in assholes, so run to Russia for help. Maybe these guys didn't really speak English, but believe me, they are not idiots and understand very well what flight safety is. After all, no one was hurt? And in the end, they were not there on their own, but at the request of the country, which they helped put out the fires, risking their own lives, they could make a corridor for them or place equipment and crews at temporarily equipped airfields.
@@KOLUCHIY25 these guys just should do their job professionally. And understanding English is part of it (for safety). Or "no one was hurt..." is achievement for you? Why its no English of Greek in the cockpit? And NOBODY try to "spit" Russia. Just wake up and calm down)))
I am calm . Well, I'll tell them to improve their English, and it's better to stay at home))). But when you feel bad, you turn to “inept” Russians for help, not to European or American professionals with excellent knowledge of English. Why?
Your altitude? Yes yes
Sounds like Borat is flying the helicopter 😆

Who cares English when there's airliners nearby with hundreds of passengers on board.

-Your position?
-Balalaika, vodka, matrioshka.
I remember i saw this somewhere about 5 years ago.
It is ooold, I think around 2011-2012
1:56 that killed me so much. after several requests for his position he wants to know atc position. lul
Obviously not what he wants. He clearly wants atc to tell him his (helicopter) position. This is a normal request if you are situationally disoriented
I think he actually said 'RA2298 will report position' but it's kinda hard to understand tho :))
This was painful to hear.
Wait, he's on fire AND taking water???
Well, we can forget the first problem then...
ICAO LEVEL 6 😂

In Russia pilot clears ATC ;)
These people shouldn't flight outside their home country.
ATC: "Say again, please?"
Russian pilot: "Roger, departure, da, da, nas mnogo, nas mnogo, Alyosha, giv mi da vodka"
