My neighbour put down weed membrane where i planted my plants, but he has made a right mess of it. As there are huge big gaps around the plants for the weeds to get in, there are also frayed edges of the membrane it looks so untidy. He has also left long bits of the membrane near the edge of the grass, what can i do as i don't want to upset him with me saying i am not impressed with what he has done, please help
Hi can u suggest how to get rid of brambles growing behind the shed which is now growing into the flower beds. If I use the membrane on the flower beds I can’t get rid of the weeds growing from the shed area

Hi Mamoona, we aren't really sure exactly what you are asking but imagine the only way to get rid of brambles is to dig them up. You can then use the membrane.

Hello.... My doubts are about driveway. Comments are disabled there. I just wanna know whether 0.5 inch pebbles are good for a car driveway. And above weed membrane whether 2 inch thickness is enough?
Hi there! A 0.5 inch chipping or gravel would be suitable if laid at a depth of 2 inch, this will give you enough coverage and should stop it moving too much.

Pebbles = water worn stones. Which are rounded. Pebbles roll - would you drive your car over scattered marbles or ball-bearings? And pebbles are easily displaced - your 2 tons of car touches the ground in only 4 places, each of small area. So the pressure (in pounds per sq inch or Kg/m2 or whatever unit you care to use) is high.....and the pebbles just roll out of the way. And runaway arrest lanes (for cars or truck whose brakes have failed on steep inclines) are filled with....deep pebbles. I have a neighbour who covered his driveway in deep pebbles and 2yr later, STILL can't work out why his car got stuck on (and had to be towed out of) it. Three times.

I have two sections of weed infested gravel outside our house each 1m x 5m I am looking at membraning the areas and then turfing them. Would you suggest this or have other ideas?
If you are laying turf, you won't need membrane as this will stop the grass from taking hold. Either membrane and re-gravel or prepare the ground properly for turf and lay that. Paving is of course another option, you won't need weed membrane for that either and laid properly will stop the weeds.
