The "quartz crisis" is a marketing term created by an industry that was slow to adapt. To the brands that thrived, the 70s was the "quartz revolution".
I've been anti quartz for 15 years, recently bought an eco drive Pro master, been onnmy wrist for last 6 months. Once you get over the snob factor, there's nothing wrong with quartz.
I love quartz. I wear watches for fashion and for confidence. I buy what i like and make me feel good. Quartz is always ticking at close to the correct time. I can easily pick and wear whatever i want for the day without needing to reset the time and date. I just enjoy watches in general. I have a mechanical watch in the mail, but my other watches are quartz.
I would've expected to see a Grand Seiko or perhaps other high-end quartz watch like the Citizen Chronomaster in the list. Nonetheless, you have some amazing picks in here. One thing I love about your 'normal' watch reviews are the shots of how the pieces wear on your wrist in natural daylight. I would love to see those kind of shots in these video's as well. Keep up the great work!
Came here to say exactly this. GS grows its own quartz crystals, ages them, selects the finest (leaving the rest for Seiko) and matches them with a circuit in their quartz 9f movements, giving them accuracy that, in my experience, is even better than the stated +/-10sec./year.

@@mkyhou1160 And all supercars are crazy fast. It's the law of diminishing returns. Sure a middle-shelf quartz will get you accuracy beyond any mechanical watch, but if you want something even more accurate, or want to be the most accurate, it's going to cost a lot and take exponentially more effort to get that extra 1 percent of performance. To some, that's worth the price of entry. Besides, this video's title is "The 10 *Best* Quartz Watches", not the 10 best value for money or affordable quartz watches. It's also not just about the accuracy, the finishing and durability of the case and movement are second to none in that price bracket.
My dad got a quartz watch for his wedding, and i got passed it down after he got a daytona from his dad's will, i love it and the quartz is crazy accurate. Amazing video
I love the B400 so much I ended up getting two of them. I definitely love how Quartz is always ready. I have my list of luxury automatics to buy but my first year I definitely got a few quartz. Including a Longines conquest vhp and Accutron DNA.
I have a couple of Precisionist watches. The smooth movement of the seconds hand is fun, but I wish they were more accurate. I suppose that Bulova isn’t going for 262kHz thermocompensated innards.
Have a Bolova Marine Star quartz chronograph. Worn for several years now and love it. Adjust the time about once year, usually under a one minute adjustment.
+1 on the Arnie - I bought mine this year and its easily my favourite watch. I'd love for Seiko to release a PVD-coated black stainless bracelet as an upgrade options.
I have a Q Timex and a Q Timex GMT. They are aesthetically superb. However, the movement in both of them has a jittery minute hand. If you are trying to set the time accurately using the hacking function, when you depress the crown the minute hand moves backwards or forwards by between one half and 2 minutes. This makes setting the watch a risible exercise. Luckily the movements are very accurate, so you don't have to battle with with this design feature very often.
Very good list indeed, for some brands like tag heuer its better to buy second hand. Sometimes they are even 50%off. Its good to have a good quartz beater for hardwork.
Leave out the Japanese and there’s not much left to talk about, as the Swiss are decades behind, not bothered to integrate solar power into their watches.
@@e28forever30, l have to disagree. I live in the Netherlands and many of the smaller Swiss and German brands are making solar pieces. Even the European microbrands are getting into the act. Awesome guide! Good to see some of my favorites in your best quartz list. I am afraid that series of Citizen is being discontinued (aside from the blue one), if you are interested in that Promaster Marine Diver, I would not wait around. There is also a new TI version BN0200-56E. The Arnie is great fun, Seiko has a conversation starter there, it has my favorite Seiko dive band (or bracelet) to date (Seiko dive straps and bracelets are often uncomfortable for me)! I have a special place in my heart for Ani/Digis from G-Shocks & Protreks. Anyways great list and inspiration for future!
The Arnie really is a great watch, but Seiko needs to release a slightly smaller version. Luckily Citizen didn't mess around with original sizing when they continued the Aqualand JP2000-08E.
As polarizing as modern Tag Heuer is for watch collectors, It is still a highly sought after watch. Get on the grey market for several hundred less and it is a fantastic watch.
Mine is the Citizen Corso Eco-Drive, in stainless steel and gold two-tone (model BM7334-58E). It is elegant looking, reliable, durable, extremely accurate, and easy to read with a quick glance. Probably the best watch I will ever own..
I was expecting the Mondaine to be top of the list. It is a missed opportunity to show case the best looking watch from the west. I agree with most list. It comes to each other’s taste at their given age as affected by culture, peers etc.
Nice reviews 👍especially the Hamilton psr 👌- but does it have an alarm ? I’m not sure it does . It’s just time only and running seconds on but if I’m wrong which I’m glad to be because an alarm update would be a welcome change but not true to the OG live and let die p2

Why do all videos on top quartz watches feature the exact same watches? :) If you look at Teddy Baldassarre's video...like 90% of the watches in the same order almost (he started with the stupid Casio Calculator). Yet no one added the Oceanus lineup...with solar, tough mvt, radio controlled, Bluetooth, saphire crystal and a great price. Doing your own research on TH-cam is not a great idea :)
I found Quartz watches to be best suited for when your travelling. If you have to catch a plane and than a train, you want your watch to be prdcise and you don’t want to worry it might stopped ticking because you took it off on the weekend.
I bought my first quartz this century; tomorrow, I hope to get my Sinn UX S into my little paws. I just want an accurate watch. Automatic is fine, but I can never truly rely on it.
My god the Dan Henry chrono is fantastic! I am very concern about the diameter though. It is 41mm but it looks way bigger (almost big as the Seiko Arnie, at least on your wrist...). I have a very small wrist (6,5) and the biggest watch I can "afford" because of that is the Seiko mini turtle (42mm). Do you think I should go for it or sadly enough should forget about it?
