  • ''Dave's first Warwick SDSR Adventure''. (Sad to see QLD Gov. closed the Stanthorpe to Wallangarra part of the line because of burnt out railway bridges from the Nov. 2023 Bushfires. LET'S RALLY TOGETHER and get it reopened.) Hold onto your seats as we travel through the hills, past old viaducts through tunnels and over old bridges and past old Granite Belt railway infrastructure as we travel in 70yr old Carriages behind SDSR Steam Loco.C17 971 from Warwick to Wallangarra and return. It is magic going through the tunnels on the return trip, A must watch. David M Kemp. ‪@DavidMKempMusicandTrains‬ {Feel free to subscribe, comment and press the like Thumb.} ''LATEST UPDATE ON THIS RAILWAY LINE''. The Road over Rail Bridge connecting both sides of Wallangarra itself has been fixed and in use, but the Railway line from Stanthorpe to Wallangarra remains closed as 4 burnt out wooden railway bridges still need to be repaired or replaced.

Great video thank you. Very natural cinematography. And a nice narrative at Wallangarra. 18:49 the line to the right went off to the large Army depot used during WWII.

The good news there are still plenty of people willing to keep all railways open to the public.

For me personally, I am fascinated by carriages and their interiors. Sadly this video focuses on poking the camera outside the train window for 99% of the journey.

i was born shortly after the end of the steam era.i was born in mildura in the N/W of vic and grew up during the steam era and subsequently the end of the steam era when the deisals were introduced.i'm now 66yrs old and went to primary school and got used to seeing the old steamer parked in the railway siding next to the BP station for approx 6-8 yrs in the late '60's-'70's.mildura had the one-stop shop for maintaining the steamer for the weekly night passenger run to spencer street station in melbourne, vic.

The QLD Govt. said it would cost $20 million to repair damage done to infrastructure caused by the bad fires at Wallangarra and along the Railway line in November 2023.

It is a shame David, because I was looking forward to travelling the Warwick to Wallangarra line again this year aboard the Warwick steam train, but unfortunately the fires put a stop to that. Dave
