The reverser is for jobs like plowing snow, you really should use the clutch to stop the tractor before engaging it...

My grandad has one but it doesn't have the lever for forward reverse it's only got the standard gears in the trans. This one is really nice though.

My 420w starts like that. About the time you think it won't start it hits once or twice and then fires right up. Lol Maybe it's because that's how 6 volt systems are? Anyway good looking and running tractor.
Mine was converted to 12v and it still starts like that… likes to keep you on your toes😂

Yes, but you'd have to be a lunatic to try it in any gear higher than 3rd.
