I’m so happy that I found your channel a few weeks ago! I’ve probably watched at least a hundred of your videos already, and am still going strong! I have to say that there are so many things that I love about your channel, but your kindness in dealing with people is one of my favorite. One example that I’ll never forget, and probably giggle anew each time I remember, is when Karen said, “I’m sure that lady has a lot of nice qualities, but she sure doesn’t smell very good!”. 😁 Diplomacy at it’s finest! Ha! Another is when, during your television interview, both of you called each other your best friends, stating that you’d rather spend your time with each other than anyone else. My husband, David, and I have often voiced the same. We’ve been married for forty years, and he’s still my favorite person in all the world. 😍 We are also suckers for pets. We have four rescues at present. All dogs. Of the two newest, one is a tri-paw (probably a boxer mix), and pure sugar! The other newest addition (possibly a Jack Russel) is sugar and spice! Ha! She’s about a fourth of the other’s size, but definitely runs the show! 😁 I help with pet rescue as much as I can online, as health has not allowed much else. But we do have a total of four rescue “pups” (dogs) at present. We lost two of our beloved pets during the last two years. One, our 17 year old black & tan Doxie, Jack, who we rescued out of a situation of great neglect. The other was my beloved cat, TigerLily. I miss her so much! I was trying to wait until we can screen in our back porch so that he/she can sit and watch the birds and squirrels (with smell-avision), but I may not make it! I had also hoped to make her a pet door and put her litter box out there. I think I need a lap cat, even though I have two lap dogs (one weighs in at around 25#, and the other near 50#! But she doesn’t mind.... 🤣 Ha! I do have a question that I was wondering if you’d answer for me. I watched the episode where you found that gorgeous embroidered and beaded (if I remember correctly) mourning dress/set. It was just beautiful! At a later time, maybe even a later episode, you made the comment that you’d probably use it as your wedding dress. Why would you choose to wear black on your wedding day? ...just trying to understand. 😉 Y’all keep up the good work! We used to have 3 rescues, a dog and 2 cats but they have passed on now and we haven't yet decided to get new pets. I think Karen's favorite color is black, and so shew was wanting to design a black wedding gown for herself - she has already created a beautiful bouquet out of black feathers and peacock feathers. Just to be different I think. :)
She’s obviously creative, and beautiful, too. I’m sure she’ll be lovely, whatever she wears! I may soon have to start looking for a local BBA (Bargain Barons Anonymous)! Ha! Uranium ALWAYS glows GREEN under UV light, but the glass can be dyed blue or orange or any other color - and will still glow green under UV. We have only heard about it and seen it online - never have we seen uranium glass in person that is NOT green, but apparently it exists, so we check it all now usually...
Sheffield, not reproduction, is always plate. However, it is very good plate. It is thin sheets of silver rolled onto copper. It is never electroplated. It is highly collectible. I love it!

What an exciting hunt! I also passed on a silver plated Sheffield platter yesterday. But I did find a book of Poetry by Robert Browning from the late 1800s for 80 cents! And I got my first uranium piece, thanks to you guys getting me into it. 😁 I now own a uv flashlight of my own.

Wow! I've had dreams about that kind of place. I'd woke up sad that it was just a dream. One thing I remember from one dream was a gigantic clam made into a trunk, with beautiful hinges on it, for $5. My mind can be cruel...sigh.
When they made uranium glass pieces, did they know it would look like that in black light? If so, you'd think they would have made small lamps that you could use a black light bulb in.
