This never gets old. I have watched this anime a couple of times already and yet the ending is always the same for me, I cried a river. And listening to this music with its video is a painful reminder, how sad the story is.
Man I periodically come back to remember this masterpiece. One of the few anime that can make a grown man cry. Loved the last part, just puts the cherry on top. Great work!

It's like when the person you love the most is diagnosed with an uncureable illness and is on very borrowed time. You try to treasure every moment with that person until that person's time is out. It teaches you to treasure every moment with the person you love and care about the most because time is a precious resource.
Amazing song, amazing anime, I normally don't cry much, I have watched alot of animes and haven't cried even if the content was extremely sad, but this anime made me cry alot. Other than that, I have to give you a compliment because the edit is *really* well made, you put the scenes together so well that I almost cried at the end of it.

This series is very underrated in the tearjerker genre. I understand defaulting to shows like clannad or ano hana but I feel plastic memories should be in the conversation along side them just like angel beats or gave of the fireflies used to be (haven't heard many talk about those series as of late)

And when Tsukasa whispered the line "I hope one day, you will be reunited with the one you cherish" is just painful knowing they will never be reunited again, and if so, it's not the same as they used to be.

Honestly, Idk what to say, but after watching this anime, I was depressed for a week like some people. Although it's 2021, an unspeakable emptiness emerges in my mind whenever I listen to this song and Ring of Fortune. It's beyond the word "sad" I would say.
I try to hold the tears for the entire video, then at the end I turn and see my wife crying and all the effort to be the "tough boy" gone in an instant LOL :.

But, it's even more painful when you don't have any. The melancholy in Tsukasa's heart resonates so strongly with me. Warmth and love...with a taste of sadness. Bittersweet. I don't know how anyone would deal with such a heartbreak, but I have to admire Tsukasa for not killing himself over sorrow. It really takes a lot for one to deal with the loss of a loved one, especially when their time together was short-lived. I wish the best for him...for him to be reunited with the one he loves, someday...
Plastic memories didn't have a great impact on me but when I'm asked whats my fave ending this one always comes to mind first, idk why but it Makes me so happy, there's Better sad anime and i prefer Chobits or even Detroit become human, but this Is a great reminder memories áre all that Matters, and we have a lifespan not defined and as short as isla , but unknown and short nonetheless, be happy with those things and people that Make you happy, even if u die young u gotta enjoy it to the fullest like isla :)
