    I am working on this pattern now. I started without the video but couldn't get the bubbles. I watch the bubble step a few times and now I'm flying through the rows! thank you very much for the tutorial! !

    I just made this bathmat using Lion Brand Just Hemp yarn. It turned out great. Thanks for the tutorial, it made it much easier for me (a beginner) to understand.

    I so love the look of that yarn Mikey I was just thinking about how great it would look in a circle or oval, in the kitchen 😀

    Ah, people today have so little imagination. I don't mean you, Mikey. You're amazing! But to limit this to just being a bath mat-- it could be so many types of mats.
    When I was a child and wall-to-wall carpeting was only for the rich, mats were a very common item. You had mats in front of the kitchen sink to catch spilled water (and, thus, prevent slipping on the water), mats on the side of the bed so you did not have to step onto cold floors when you got up. There was also a door mat INSIDE the front door (as well as the traditional outside mat) where you could stand while changing from boots to slippers.
    You might think, "well, fine. But now we have carpeting." But I still use a kitchen sink mat and a mat beside my bed, over the carpeting, just for decoration. I like it.
    Beyond that, depending on the size, this design could be great for placemats or for a table runner. I can see it used in so many ways. It's a pity the designer limited it to just being a bath mat. Luckily, we don't have to. ;)

    I would love to see something along these lines, made with T Shirt yarn. I'm using J,C,Brett's Noodles yarn. However the Home Deck yarn looks like it has more of a rubber texture to it. I'm in England, but forget the cost, I'm desperate to try it.😁😁💖 I will nav to shop around tonight 😁😁💙

    Hi ?????
    Is the number of chains we do in beginning of pattern the width or length of the rug?
    Thank you 🙏🏻

    Hi Mikey. Beautiful mat! In row 3 you began with 3 chains. In row 4 you chained 4 to begin. So when do we chain 3 and when do we have to chain 4? Thank you.

    out of curiosity.. what is a difference from a bubble stitch from a puff stitch??

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Great question... I was waiting for that. I don't think there is a difference. I think the designer called it a Bubble Stitch as it's the Bubble Bath Mat. I think it's the same, in my view as well. Good catch!

    love the idea. Is it possible to use peaches and cream or something equivalent. How much is this new yarn? I know I'm going to like this yarn.

    Could you use bernat blanket for a bath mat too?

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You could but it might absorb water different and not last the way a cotton fiber would. Maybe try a small swatch and see what you think.

      cotton yarn would probably work, t shirt yarn or make strips from old sheets and your then together and then crochet that.

  • @jazztsax
    @jazztsax 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do too. Too many gaps for a bath mat or any mat. Where's the old heavy rug yarn. This is ugly.
