I loved your honest review. I have had my Purple mattress for almost 3 years and it looks and feels the same as when it was unboxed. I have two sets of the original Purple sheets and mattress protector. There needs to be some stretch in the sheets or they will cancel out the effect of what the grid is supposed to feel like as well as the benefits. Almost immediately after getting my Purple mattress, I began waking up with no lower back pain. Also, my right hip aches when I sleep on a regular mattress, but on the Purple, the Purple feels like my hip is being supported without any pressure. My Purple still feels so soft, yet supportive with no changes after 3 years. I am a side sleeper and around 125 lbs, and I bought the Purple 4. Yes, it is pricey, but I love the soft firmness and the feeling of every inch of my body being cradled in softness. It’s hard to explain, but every part of my body feels equally supported with an equal amount of pressure. I think that’s why people say you feel like you’re laying on a cloud or that you’re weightless. It doesn’t really feel like weightlessness but it kind of feels like you’re floating on a cloud as they say. You can feel the mattress under you, so on don’t feel weightless, but every inch of your body will feel the same amount of pressure, hence what some people compare to feeling weightless. I highly recommend trying a Purple mattress, especially if you are a side or back sleeper and are looking for a good night’s sleep and waking pain free!

This is the review I needed!!! After 15+ years of sleeping on my memory foam mattress I finally decided on the Purple 2. Tried it out at a furniture store and loved it. I'm now 2 nights in and haven't slept much at all. When I roll over in my sleep I wake up feeling like I'm falling off the bed even though I'm in the middle lol I was so used to being sucked into my memory foam that I have to get used to the " floating" feeling of the Purple. No one has ever talked about the transition period so I'm very relieved I'm not the only one. The thought of having to return this mattress was stressing me out because I'd be left without a mattress at all since my old one is gone. I will be patient and hope my body and brain get used to it. Thank you for confirming I'm not crazy lol

@@timg531 I love it, I also have 2 Harmony pillows also. I wish they made dog beds lol. As I was looking into it, apparently the did but discontinued them short of a year ago. I'm thinking of possibly buying a twin bed and cutting it down to make 2 dog beds for my old stiff dogs. We will see
I liked the bed at first but after three years it started sagging and the sides collapsed. Now I have lower back pains and the mattress gets hot because I sink into the center. I have been trying to get Purple to replace the 3 year old mattress under warranty. Purple said they cannot help me because I purchased the bed from one of their vendors Mattress Firm. Apparently Purple will only warrant their beds if purchased dielectric from them. 😮So do not buy from a vendor. Expensive$3,400 lesson learned.
This is hands down the BEST review I have seen on this mattress! Just what I was looking for:) I’ve been sleeping on a 200 dollar mattress and I have a bad back already as it is so my cheap mattress is making me throw out my back too :( *btw side note, you are an amazing wife for not returning the mattress because you saw that it was helping your husbands back even though at the 21 day mark you weren’t fully convinced of it kudos* so yes I’m looking to invest in this mattress ☺️
Same here, sleeping on an extremely firm $200 mattress. It was ok for a few months but now my lower back is hurting baaad.

It does not seem like it's been 6 months already. I'm glad you guys are loving it now and that it's helping with Jack's back issue as well as the one you have with your hip Mac. I would say it's money well spent.

YES! That initial feel of the grid annoyed me too 😂 but I love how it’s so relieving on my lower back 👏🏾

Your both crazy I don't notice the grid and if I do it must just feel amazing then! I'm on my 3rd night with it and from day 1 it was so soft better then the store one I tried out.
The best sleep and dreams I've ever had even if only getting 6 hrs of sleep because I watched TV till 2am watching a movie on a work night and thought I might regret doing that since I have an hour commute. But woke up like I slept all night for 8 hrs probably because I must of never moved or turned in the night to get comfortable I must of kept the same position all night when normally I toss and turn.
So worth the money I world pay more if I had too knowing what I do now 1600 was a steal

My Purple sagged after three years and now I have lower back problems. Trying to get this covered under warranty. The mattresses are still prone to sagging unfortunately.

I 100% agree with you about having to get used to this Mattress. I bought the Hybrid 4 last October and I actually had back pains after the first week of use. I was really ready to send it back, but a friend of mine kept telling me that it takes a bit of time for your body to get use to the mattress and I think Purple site says the same thing on their site. So I decided to keep it and by the end of the 2nd week I truly started to love my Purple 4 and I don't I could go back to a normal mattress.
For me, I would say Purple did a smart thing by also selling their Beds via Macy's. Now I didn't my Purple Mattress through Macy's I bought it via Purple. But having a chance to actually try out the mattress at a Macy's store is what sold it for me. I was set on getting a Beautyrest, but whenever I tried out the Purple Mattresses I just gleefully feeling that I never got with any other mattress including the Beautyrest I was set on getting. I think these other online brands should follow suit and be able to provide a way to try out their beds before you buy.
Also a good combination with the Purple Mattress are those "Cool" Sheets that a lot of different brands make for those hot nights.
It’s so true! I wanted to give it back nearly right away lol but I’m glad we didn’t! It’s funny you mention Macy’s, we actually went to test them out there before purchasing! Jack (my husband) was sold from the start but I clearly needed more convincing 😅

Did your mattress get softer after a few weeks? I just got my hybrid mattress and it felt a lot firmer than in the store, could be due to the bed sheets. I was thinking about switching to the softer hybrid premier.

First of.... Where the heck did those 6 months go!!! Oh my days 😱
I also went through every single emotion you did when we got our new mattress. It took me a while to get used to but like Jack and yourself, I swear it's helped my back and hips massively! Pregnancy with the eldest wrecked my back so really ill always get pain every so often but Im convinced it was the mattress' springs poking through that killed my hips. They only began to get bad in the last maybe year or so of having that mattress but since the new one.... Iv not had an issue hip wise!

Did you try the purple Premier 3-bed? The reason I'm asking is when I tried out the purples at The Mattress your mattress felt too firm to me while the three felt more like a medium. I also felt like the premier 3 was more supportive in terms of pressure points. So I was just curious if you guys actually sat on a purple 3?
We did! We went in-store to Macy's where they have all the Purple mattresses and ended up choosing the Hybrid because my husband, Jack, has back problems and was drawn to the firmer feel and I felt it was squishy/responsive enough for me as well 🥰
I just bought the purple 3. Still waiting. I laid on it for 30 min at the bed. It's made for heavier people.

I’ll be that guy I need a good hybrid mattress that’s firm but somewhat soft too . Also need to make sure I don’t sink into the mattress when doing the work on it . Is it durable and strong if I’m active on it

I think the companies that make mattresses have gone overboard trying to make the mattress cold, to prevent "hot sleepers" from complaining. I actually enjoy being warm in my cozy bed too. That and being sick of the obsession with firm mattresses are tiresome. Can I just get a non-cold, sink in soft mattress? Great review!

No problem! The cheaper model was less firm for us. We went with the middle model because my husband preferred the firmer feel for his back ❤️
Not trying to get personal but it it for ”those” activities. Is cleaning the mattress an issue or should is a mattress protector needed/required?
stains void the warranty, so a protector is recommended.
Hey, I’m thinking about getting this mattress, but I have a cat and I’m worried his paw will fall through the grid LOL, does your cat sleep on the bed or have trouble walking on the bed ever?
LOL valid concern but your cat will be totally fine 😂 the grid isn't big enough nor is it flimsy enough for that 💕
Do you think the linen sheets help keep it cooler?
I honestly can’t tell if the linen sheets offer additional cooling to the mattress because we’ve only ever had linen sheets on this mattress, but I can tell you whatever the combo is doing, it’s great 😂❤️
Can you use any sheets of your choice with the purple mattress ?
oh yes absolutely! The mattress sizes are standard so you can use any sheets you'd like :) I haven't tested out the Purple Sheets but we use linen sheets on ours and we love it :)

I would say matter of fact …if you have an adjustable base, DEFINITELY GET THERE FLEX SHEETS. Or you can retuck all 4 corners upon heads up or legs up or neck adjustment. Regular sheets are fine if you DONT adjust bed positions.
did this mattress have off-gassing or a bad smell? If so, for how long?
Honestly if it did, I cannot remember lol so if it had any smell it didn't last too long for it to stick in my memory or to bother me too much

Didn't sleep great the first two nights on our Purple 3, but each night after that I slept better than the last. Now I sleep like a baby. Most of the time I sleep on my side, but I can sleep on my back or stomach for a couple hours on this bed. On our past plush, latex, or memory foam mattresses, my back would kill me after 5 minutes on anything other than my side. I rarely toss or turn now and can get up after 6 hours feeling plenty rested.

How much do you weigh because I’ve heard lighter people won’t sink in as much so it wouldn’t be a good option?
Bought this today. Hoping I love it. I am returning an aviya luxury firm queen. Way too hard and not working well with my adjustable frame. I have an aviya full size I love so the new one was a shock.

A nice mattress pad would help. With that being said we bought a purple mattress and after 18 months we’re looking for a new mattress. Never lived up to our expectations.

@@boukm3n no we actually just got a 3 inch memory foam topper for it and now it’s Amazing. Im a belly sleeper which isn’t normal. So that’s what was causing me some issues. But yeah it’s a comfy bed. But make sure you go and really test it in a store. It’s deff unlike any other bed

Is the the material going to soften up as it gets broken in?
We've had ours for almost 10 months and do not notice any more softness than when we first got it :)
I bought a cheap memory foam mattress before I moved because I was due a new one anyways but the first few nights I didn't sleep. I could feel my body sinking in it. It's gotten better now & I've had it several weeks now. Still no help to mine or my husband's issues.
Yeah I really hate our memory foam mattress, it's a pain to get out of each day/night.

Im checking out Casper Original, Casper Hybrid, and Casper Nova Hybrid. I laid on Nova Hybrid and it was to die for. Sorta soft….so it reminded me of Purple 4….so I had 2nd thoughts. Costco has Casper Hybrid(nonNova) for $799 for a King….you cant beat that!!!

@@macdingle I still couldn't possibly afford it right now though. I hope to eventually tho. It's amazing how much damage not having a supportive mattress can wreak havoc on your body.
Still somewhat cheaper than Tempur-Pedic mattresses. Even with the cheapest hybrid model a queen mattress costs $2100 and they don't offer any discounts. That 10% discount is better than nothing.
This was a great review! I want to order one for my husband and I but I’ve seen so many issues with shipping. People saying it’s Taking over a month to get their mattress 😩
When we ordered the wait time was 7-10 days to leave their warehouse, but we actually got it delivered in 9 days :) Their website is listing only 3-5 days to leave the warehouse currently!
100 % disagree with feeling the grid underneath you! We love our mattress hands down! If you research the Purple mattress, one of their selling points is that it is a cool sleeping mattress. Mattresses are not supposed to have dips in it. Best mattress we have ever bought!

@@SIIKAP1 we personally haven’t experienced any sagging and we’re going on 7 months now :) but that may not be the case for everybody!
@@SIIKAP1 We have had a King Size Purple 4 for going on two years now. Not a single sag in it at all. We do rotate it about once every six months to try and prevent sags but I honestly don’t think it would make a difference if we did it or not as the hyper elastic polymer is responsive when laying on it but durable enough to snap back when not laying on it.
Oooo I would not like those grids. I’m a light sleeper and that would not work

Absolutely! I hope you like it right out of the box but if you don't, I am a walking example of somebody who loved it after the trial period 🥰We did not try out the sheets or protector, but the protector may help with the honeycomb feeling if that bothers you!

I felt the same way at first! I was so angry that I had to get used to a bed before liking it lol but honestly best long term decision ever. My hip issues have subsided and my husband's back does so much better 🥰
