Mario Mancini: I was very close to getting a big push. All I had to do was let Pat Patterson shove a Hulk Hogan action figure up my ass. I debated it then said no Pat I have way too much respect for Hulk Hogan to shove him up my ass, what about Savage? It was a no go. Terry Taylor went along with it and got the big gimmick, the rest is history.

patterson had some gall to cruise the wwf locker rooms and ask wrestlers if he could slob their knob the way he did. it's like he had free reign. I think he was doing it with vkms blessing, or doing it to get something on the talent that vkm could use against them. maybe patterson would pass the guys off to vkm. something like that was going on.

Just because he was working for WWF for 7 years doesn't mean Vince has to give him a push. Obviously they didn't think he would draw and I agree. He's was an enhancement guy. I remember him from the 80's MSG and Boston Garden shows.

I remember seeing him wrestle in the 80s and he was just bland. That wasn't gonna cut it moving up the card. He's a really nice guy but there was no way he was gonna even be a mid card guy.
This. Look at the guy in the thumbnail-this was WWF in the 80s, the land of giants. This guy would have an underwhelming looking even now. He shouldn’t be surprised with his card placement.

I mean…he was fortunate to have been there at all during this time, he was on the second tier of the enhancement guys.
There is definitely an art to being an enhancement guy, and so there are those who are better and those who are worse. In his early days, I'd agree Mancini was in the second tier. I stopped watching as his career progressed, so I can't comment on a more experienced Mancini.
