The point of designing a character is to have a vessel to explore the world. Their hyper-focus on the character creator tells me they probably don't have a world that worth exploring.
@@Ribbert2099 They dont mention it because the game is just "better" than the creator. Remember Black Desert online? The creator is so good you can actually download it separately.

This is so true. It doesn't only apply to sex either. You'll notice there's also a similar thing going on with race and ethnicity. Variety and representation are good things and oftentimes just make sense for the setting: of course Starfleet from Star Trek would have a bunch of diversity. But we're getting to the point where it's having a similar effect to androgynous characters: everything is starting to turn into a grey sludge. Viking show? There's the black guy, the Asian guy, and I guess some Nordic looking people. Game set in feudal Japan? There's the black guy... cultures start losing their identity and everything starts feeling like modern day United States. The ethnic makeup of different areas is part of culture in real life and can make a piece of fiction seem so much more authentic and interesting.
One thing I've noticed and have been ringing the bell about for years is this. Games these days are celebrating the vitiligo slider, but they are all doing less and less with the (superior) freckle option. Not that many people have the skin condition yet they feel the need to cram it in every game. And most of the time it looks terrible in game. It's purely virtue signaling.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a person with vitiligo in real life in my entire life. None in my high school for sure. And none in college and none in any of my jobs. MAYBE I’ve seen one at a mall sometime.
God I feel ya, the only thing I have left is when I saw someone's revieuw of Origins. The man went kinda in dept and even had an intervieuw with the OG writer, David Gaider to ask him questions. There's friggin' magic to heal almost any wound in DA's world. And they would choose to keep the chest wound? And let's not get into how the surgery would go down in that world.
Why is it a top surgery scar thing and not just a generic system that allows any size scar on the torso? It's actually less customizable if it's just top surgery scars. They are actively making worse character customization.

When I play a game, I am the main character. I don't look at the main character. I have the main character look like me if it has a character creator most of the time. I've found that some people aren't like this. Some people play games in 3rd person IRL. They look at the character and even control them, but they don't feel like they are the character. That's strange to me. As a result, I never like playing female protagonists, token minority characters, robots, etc. It's not that I can't. I just feel dysmorphic when I do. The more that they talk or express characteristics that don't match my own, the more it makes me uncomfortable.
