Great question! I’ve been a Scentsy customer since 2010. Back then I used to order bars every few months, use them up then order more. I had a few favourites but I usually just experimented trying different things. In 2019 I started a club & became a consultant. Then I went HAM. I ended up with too much. I have started getting a handle on it by doing a couple of things - I started tracking my stock on a spreadsheet wax in wax out (eye opening 😳 but helpful), except for a few thrift store hauls of retail wax I limit myself to just Scentsy, I also have a cap on my club, I never order more than 2 bars of the same scent at once in a general non-club order & if I accumulate more than 5 bars of a club scent I remove it because it means I am not warming it enough. I try to keep my brick stash around 10-12 & if I haul a special brick collection like the Christmas one or the spring one we just had I make samples & then use them up as soon as possible. If I have brick room I’ll buy extra of my favourites or I’ll club a bar instead. I’ve been avoiding flash sales because then I tend to stock up on scents that are a deal but that I don’t really need example Candied Cranberry Pecan ugh. Of course there are a few scents I would just buy by the gallon if they appeared in a flash sale (Vanilla Oud) but they never do. Also no more bundles just to get one or two bars. Thankfully I have a very supportive husband who says “don’t worry hun it’s your hobby & you should have it” 🤷♀️
Excellent suggestions Linda. I also track my stash but just go so on my NOTES folder in my phone and with a little (not black) book. Those little things really help
At first ,I didn’t know about the club or lto releases it was just the catalogue bars and warmers that I fell in love with… the basic bars …black raspberry vanilla , vanilla bean buttercream, Luna and shimmer and I warmed them as I bought them ..then got more . Then I found an amazing consultant who gently tempted me with samples of new collections and that was the beginning of my scentsy “stash”. I have my bars listed on a spreadsheet including pour dates so that I always know what I’ve got but also so that no old bars are sitting for too long. Occasionally I’ll buy old bars online and I pop these straight in melting basket and enjoy rather than add to my stash. My head spins sometimes with new releases , ltos and “to club or not to club ..that is the question” but I’m similar to Linda H in having an understanding husband who knows it’s my hobby, brings me joy , puts a smile on my face and this all makes for a happy and lovely smelling home 😊. Now I need to watch your cozy kitchen review ahead of deciding on brick purchase …thanks for sharing ..as always love your videos 😊
I agree with you Linda on Club! I need to keep a cap on it otherwise it will get out of control. And like you said, if I have 4-5 bars of the same scent all of a sudden then I need to just pony-up and remove it because obviously it's not getting warmed. Overall I would say my current stash/collection is in a good place. I am definitely more conscious about things I am picking up. I opted not to get any of the Bricks early, going to wait and try them in bar form... I skipped the Open Plains collection... haven't been opting into the SOTM kits as often as I normally would. It all adds up! It's a balance, and a balance I feel like any consultant or wax purchaser in general all understands.
I just skipped my quarterly scentsy club as I have so many new wax bars to melt and don't find the opportunity to warm the ones I love. Yes my collection is growing and I need to start warming them soon as the hot weather causes quite a lot of them to sweat. I agree the new Holidays collection is one of the best, sadly we did not get the oil collection, obviously they don't sell well in region 3.❄❄I love Polar Bear Hugs it seems to return every year here, someone suggested I mix with silver bells which I have in my club, thankfully, as it did not return this year🔔🔔.

I wouldn't say I have everything in check or that it's out of control. My wax stash is more of a roller coaster where I feel both at times. This time of year especially makes me feel a little overwhelmed because we have rapid fire collections coming at us. I felt i had everything at a pretty manageable level but once those deliveries start coming in I'll start to feel over my threshold again. One thing I did do to cut down on a lot of bars during this time of year is skip my November club because I know we get inundated Sept-Jan. Because I don't have to worry about club until February I've been throwing every little thing in there so I'll definitely have to do a big chop before it ships but its kind of nice having a 6 month buffer to really warm through things and decide. For me, I put a cap on my amount of wax (i.e. 300 bars with a little wiggle room for LTO's., and this includes Scentsy club. I keep inventory of what I have, then when I accumulate 5 bars of a club scent, it gets removed and replaced with a new scent. There's so much to choose from, and new scents are always coming out or BBMB that I can't justifying having so much on hand. For bricks, I cap it at 10-12 and try to get through at least 3/year. I also have some old bars from years ago (Luscious Lemon, Apple Cherry Cider) that I can't part with yet...I'm not bothered by that. It's just wax, it's not hurting anyone 😆
I guess with your 5 cap rule you melt the ones you want to keep in the club to prevent having to axe them. You sound like you’ve got a lid on everything Melissa
@@PatriciaG-NosetoToes Yeah, it makes it so that I'm not gaining more bars of scents that I don't reach for a lot. The ones that are staples in my club ( ex. Dewy or Don't We, Toasted Marshmallow) are ones that I melt throughout the year and therefore don't reach the "5 bar" cutoff.
Hi Patricia, We also, have been very low on our buys, because we discovered our stash, to our back up stash, to our back up back up stash. Felt like we would loose wax that would be going rancid. Plus, we have 4 vendor waxes we are really fond of in scents Scentsy doesn’t have. July and August were record melting months, this month slowed down because I was so busy canning. Getting back into the swing. Had 18 warmers going, discovered, now up to 23 🥹😳 We do order the early releases to make samples for our customers. Thank you, lovely empties!

I feel ya. I cancelled my consultantship because I had too much. Someday I'll probably be back. Right now I feel I have my wax in check but I have tons of room sprays, oils, candles, candle lighters, etc. So, when I feel I've paired that down Then I might get back to being a consultant and be better with managing how much I buy.
Definitely feel like my stash is getting out of hand! I’ve got up with a plan ( pray I stick to it ) I feel like the closing out parties and getting a boat load of wax with my free items is the largest contributor to endless supply of bars so I’ve made a decision that I’m not using any credits for wax, instead I’m getting laundry , cleaning , pods and car bars. Fingers crossed it helps 😅
Yes I’m doing that too with party rewards. I will still get LTOs for review on my channel but just 1 of things, not 2. I passed on the Dumbo brick. Hard to believe I passed on a brick but I did. Pre-2020 was my favorite time with scentsy. You’re not the only one with older wax. A lot of longtime scentsy melters have older bars. Enjoy it. I don’t think anyone could match scentsy’s overall quality back then. Loved your empties! btw, I ordered some 4 pack fluted tarts from L3 the other day to use next fall. She had dupes of jacks obsession, halloween town and the light & dark side of the force. Want to compare the strength and longevity of jack’s obsession. My sil likes that scent.

I definitely feel like I have too many bars, and am trying to use some of them up. I feel like I am making progress, then bam! something else comes out. I am currently trying very hard to resist holiday bars because I already have so many. One problem is a small backlog of ones I just don't like. It feels like a shame to throw them away yet also an endurance to warm something in my home that I don't like.
My problem with extra wax has been due to Scentsy club. I am finding that each season several of my bars don't return and so the club keeps growing. Sometimes with the whiff box you get several bars. Not all are ones you like. I rarely order from the catalog and it makes me sad because I miss out on bars I really enjoy but I try to keep my wax from being overwhelming.
As long as you’re melting all the club bars it’s ok, it not maybe trying setting a limit of max bars or if you accumulate too many of one scent then it’s time to remove it.
I’m getting everything in check. This weekend I am putting month & year of purchase stickers on all my wax bars. The oldest bars will be put in a melting basket. I also had an issue with Maholo Coconut discoloring & it lost scent. I’m not planning on making any wax purchases until the end of the year. Of course I will make an exception for a flash sale. LOL
This year i really cracked down on myself. I only allowed myself my quarterly club and i would put LTOs ans BBMB in my club that i wanted to try. Before my last club shipment, I was down to 15 scentsy bars (at one point I had 130) and 10 pieces of vendor wax. I now have maybe 50 bars and 30 vendor wax because Im a sucker for bakery in fall and maybe went too hard. I only buy 1 vendor, Up the Creek Scents, so that helps. But no more purchases until my club in December and probably 1 more vendor order for the Christmas sampler from Up the Creek.

This half year I’ve made a massive effort on going through my wax stash. Which means I’ve been selling my stash (obviously keeping and melting my fav scents) but not i think I’ve finally got my wax down to a manageable state. I’ve also cut down the actual amount of wax I’ve been buying myself. Before I would make sure I bought 4 of everything, which obviously meant my stash grow quickly and got out of hand. Now I’ve been buying 1s and only buying 1 more if I’ve melted it. Most of time now I’ve just been adding the ones I love to club. And even then they have to be ones I love. There are way too many collections coming each week that is very easy to become an addiction. I’ve taken several breaks this year, and don’t really feel like I’ve missed out on anything just by buying 1s and moving on.
The only thing that saved me is that i only started melting in 2020 😂😂 if not i would be in the same boat! I have this bad habit of saving and holding on to the ones that smell the best, which i am trying to get better at! Its also hard to stop buying wax (even though my closet is saying i really dont need to buy more)… its like what if this is a new smell i cant live without hahha!
I have been trying to shop my stash and buy minimal amounts (bwahahaha) of new wax. I have finally gone from 10 dresser drawers full of wax down to 4 so I am getting it under control. BUT Scentsy has done a phenomenal job of scents for Fall/Winter so far and I fear I may be back up to 5 drawers full soon. LOL
I have been tracking my use all year and I’ve found that I’m doing ok (not perfect) at buying about as much wax as I use. But I haven’t been able to get myself to bring my total amount of stash down to a less embarrassing amount (for my taste.) However, I will say that my old wax stash is doing pretty well, especially considering I had about 4 months where I couldn’t warm because of pregnancy nausea (2 years ago). I have a few items from before that time, but most of it is from that year or more recent. (Aka my husband would say I have way too much, but I’m pleased with my progress. Lol)
I definitely don't have everything in check......lol....I don't really buy wax anymore other than Scentsy Club though so maybe eventually I'll get kind of caught up. The daily wax melting challenges help get rid of stuff I wouldn't normally reach for though.
I’m an aviation fan, so I keep my waxes in a Monarch Airlines galley trolley …. And it’s full! Really need to work through my stash too, but got tempted in by the new fall waxes 😂
@@PatriciaG-NosetoToes sadly Monarch Airlines went bust 6 years ago today. I have both their older livery navy half cart and the newer livery grey one. Most airline galley trolleys are perfect for storing Scentsy waxes in the drawers, so you could pick one from your favourite airline. A great talking point in my kitchen too! 🙂
I have my basket ready to go for the October Waxmelt Challenge!!! I am super excited, and it really does give me good reasons to go through my older wax. I think I have some 2018, 2019 bars floating around. Also, of course, 2020, 21,,,22. I am also trying to cut back because I have so much and that goes for vendor wax, too. Take care😊❤
Nope - nothing in check over here. It's so hard when they have so many new releases....week after week after week. What's a wax addict supposed to do?! Pass up all those new releases, and miss out on something that might need to be added to my club (that is equally out of control)? I'm trying, but the struggle is real! I will briefly share an embarrassing situation: I recently found a "misplaced" box of wax that has bars and bricks dating back to 2019. I know....how can I "misplace" a box of wax, right? At the beginning of the year, I was certain I had warmed through all my wax up through 2021, and I only had a few bars from 2022. Maybe decide how many you have to cut (or want to) and factor in what returns often, what you melt through efficiently or is open concept worthy or long lasting etc, and what ones you would be devastated without. It’ll it’s a “strong like” you can consider axing for a “love” to stay.
Interesting. As you say, seven months ago you reviewed Cozy Kitchen as part of Tester Tuesday and made the point that people had voted for a review of five year old CK in preference to other newer and available scents. You urged bakery lovers to vote for it if it ever appeared in BBMB. Suddenly it's a Holiday brick! Now I'm wondering if Scentsy have people on the ground who watch these videos and report back to head office, or are you just psychic? 🤔😄
For me “Eskimo Kiss” is a unique scent as well. It lasts forever but I like it best at the beginning. It gets a weird smell to me after a while…and after a while is a few days…it’s a performer for sure!
I don't feel like I'm having everything in check, especially since I have over 30 bars in my quarterly club when I don't even go through that much throughout the 3 months. My oldest bars were purchased of August of last year.
The should have passed on Red Currant Wreath and brought back Red Berry and Spruce. I'm waiting for Scents of the season to club Sugarplumberry & Homestead Holiday. I have wax from 2019 too.
I have a spreadsheet where I track what comes in and what goes out. Long story short but I basically feel like at the end of the month I am Sisyphus (roll/use those bars out of my collection except - whatever goes out I basically intake that exact amount from clubs). From my tracking it seems like I tend to get through at least 10-15 bars in a month... I try to think of the bars in terms of bricks - we know how long it takes to get through those but if I see on my spreadsheet I now have 5 or 6 bars I look at it like its a brick. We can take our sweet time finishing those and that is when I have to have a come to Jesus moment like girl you have 6 of this same scent and you aren't melting any of it. Melt at least 1.5 or 2 this month and figure out what you are going to do. I just removed Pima Cotton from my club because I had 6 bars. With all the talk of Frosty Air being similar I told myself if anything I can club that one end of F/W catalog. I feel pretty good at resisting most of the S/S offerings but F/W is my weakness. I do need to make more effort on my bricks as well.
I'm definitely feeling overwhelmed at this point. I just can't seem to help myself. When I get extra money, I want to buy wax. I'm going to try and not buy anymore until January's BBMB. Fingers crossed!
I’m cool with the amount of wax I have, I’m very particular about limiting my storage space so there’s an external control to tell me when my intake is off-balance. Open shelving would be the end of me 😂. I also limit my buying to Scentsy and 1 vendor-I suspect it’s tougher for folks who love half a dozen makers and are always excited for a new company. These Christmas bricks are going to put me RIGHT at the edge of my brick space, so that’ll be an area to attend to. But my bricks are almost all staples and fall/winter, so there’s not a lot of prep I could do ahead of time. 🤷🏻♀️
I have about 12 oats and honey bars because it’s in my monthly club. Same with lemon coconut chiffon. I don’t want to take them out of the club just incase they won’t come back for 5 years. I have to start telling myself since it’s in your monthly club to warm a bar every month

I also have a quarterly club and what I do is when that club is going to process that month I move my monthly club to bi monthly so I really only get my monthly club 8 times a year
I have BBMBs from 2016! Definitely feeling overwhelmed and FOMOed into a hoarding situation. I have at least half a dozen warmers going 24/7 and I work from home but it’s still not enough to keep up with the constant inflow from multiple sources. 🥴

I definitely feel like I have too many bars, and am trying to use some of them up. I feel like I am making progress, then bam! something else comes out. I am currently trying very hard to resist holiday bars because I already have so many. One problem is a small backlog of ones I just don't like. It feels like a shame to throw them away yet also an endurance to warm something in my home that I don't like.
Maybe see if there is a local Facebook group that sells / trades to get rid of your dislikes.
My problem with extra wax has been due to Scentsy club. I am finding that each season several of my bars don't return and so the club keeps growing. Sometimes with the whiff box you get several bars. Not all are ones you like. I rarely order from the catalog and it makes me sad because I miss out on bars I really enjoy but I try to keep my wax from being overwhelming.
As long as you’re melting all the club bars it’s ok, it not maybe trying setting a limit of max bars or if you accumulate too many of one scent then it’s time to remove it.
I’m getting everything in check. This weekend I am putting month & year of purchase stickers on all my wax bars. The oldest bars will be put in a melting basket. I also had an issue with Maholo Coconut discoloring & it lost scent. I’m not planning on making any wax purchases until the end of the year. Of course I will make an exception for a flash sale. LOL
Everyone will make exceptions for that!! (Unless funds have dried up)
This year i really cracked down on myself. I only allowed myself my quarterly club and i would put LTOs ans BBMB in my club that i wanted to try. Before my last club shipment, I was down to 15 scentsy bars (at one point I had 130) and 10 pieces of vendor wax. I now have maybe 50 bars and 30 vendor wax because Im a sucker for bakery in fall and maybe went too hard. I only buy 1 vendor, Up the Creek Scents, so that helps. But no more purchases until my club in December and probably 1 more vendor order for the Christmas sampler from Up the Creek.

This half year I’ve made a massive effort on going through my wax stash. Which means I’ve been selling my stash (obviously keeping and melting my fav scents) but not i think I’ve finally got my wax down to a manageable state. I’ve also cut down the actual amount of wax I’ve been buying myself. Before I would make sure I bought 4 of everything, which obviously meant my stash grow quickly and got out of hand. Now I’ve been buying 1s and only buying 1 more if I’ve melted it. Most of time now I’ve just been adding the ones I love to club. And even then they have to be ones I love.
There are way too many collections coming each week that is very easy to become an addiction. I’ve taken several breaks this year, and don’t really feel like I’ve missed out on anything just by buying 1s and moving on.
Yes it’s a good lesson to learn that 1 or perhaps 2 will definitely do! (#rhyme)
The only thing that saved me is that i only started melting in 2020 😂😂 if not i would be in the same boat! I have this bad habit of saving and holding on to the ones that smell the best, which i am trying to get better at! Its also hard to stop buying wax (even though my closet is saying i really dont need to buy more)… its like what if this is a new smell i cant live without hahha!

I have been trying to shop my stash and buy minimal amounts (bwahahaha) of new wax. I have finally gone from 10 dresser drawers full of wax down to 4 so I am getting it under control. BUT Scentsy has done a phenomenal job of scents for Fall/Winter so far and I fear I may be back up to 5 drawers full soon. LOL

I have been tracking my use all year and I’ve found that I’m doing ok (not perfect) at buying about as much wax as I use. But I haven’t been able to get myself to bring my total amount of stash down to a less embarrassing amount (for my taste.)
However, I will say that my old wax stash is doing pretty well, especially considering I had about 4 months where I couldn’t warm because of pregnancy nausea (2 years ago). I have a few items from before that time, but most of it is from that year or more recent.
(Aka my husband would say I have way too much, but I’m pleased with my progress. Lol)

I definitely don't have everything in check......lol....I don't really buy wax anymore other than Scentsy Club though so maybe eventually I'll get kind of caught up. The daily wax melting challenges help get rid of stuff I wouldn't normally reach for though.

I’m an aviation fan, so I keep my waxes in a Monarch Airlines galley trolley …. And it’s full! Really need to work through my stash too, but got tempted in by the new fall waxes 😂

@@PatriciaG-NosetoToes sadly Monarch Airlines went bust 6 years ago today. I have both their older livery navy half cart and the newer livery grey one. Most airline galley trolleys are perfect for storing Scentsy waxes in the drawers, so you could pick one from your favourite airline. A great talking point in my kitchen too! 🙂
I have my basket ready to go for the October Waxmelt Challenge!!! I am super excited, and it really does give me good reasons to go through my older wax. I think I have some 2018, 2019 bars floating around. Also, of course, 2020, 21,,,22. I am also trying to cut back because I have so much and that goes for vendor wax, too. Take care😊❤

Nope - nothing in check over here. It's so hard when they have so many new releases....week after week after week. What's a wax addict supposed to do?! Pass up all those new releases, and miss out on something that might need to be added to my club (that is equally out of control)? I'm trying, but the struggle is real! I will briefly share an embarrassing situation: I recently found a "misplaced" box of wax that has bars and bricks dating back to 2019. I know....how can I "misplace" a box of wax, right? At the beginning of the year, I was certain I had warmed through all my wax up through 2021, and I only had a few bars from 2022. As the song goes....Wrong Again 🤣 Thanks for sharing your empties, and for doing the monthly wax challenge!!

Maybe decide how many you have to cut (or want to) and factor in what returns often, what you melt through efficiently or is open concept worthy or long lasting etc, and what ones you would be devastated without. It’ll it’s a “strong like” you can consider axing for a “love” to stay.

As you say, seven months ago you reviewed Cozy Kitchen as part of Tester Tuesday and made the point that people had voted for a review of five year old CK in preference to other newer and available scents. You urged bakery lovers to vote for it if it ever appeared in BBMB. Suddenly it's a Holiday brick! For me “Eskimo Kiss” is a unique scent as well. It lasts forever but I like it best at the beginning. It gets a weird smell to me after a while…and after a while is a few days…it’s a performer for sure!
I don't feel like I'm having everything in check, especially since I have over 30 bars in my quarterly club when I don't even go through that much throughout the 3 months. My oldest bars were purchased of August of last year.

I have a spreadsheet where I track what comes in and what goes out. Long story short but I basically feel like at the end of the month I am Sisyphus (roll/use those bars out of my collection except - whatever goes out I basically intake that exact amount from clubs).
From my tracking it seems like I tend to get through at least 10-15 bars in a month... I try to think of the bars in terms of bricks - we know how long it takes to get through those but if I see on my spreadsheet I now have 5 or 6 bars I look at it like its a brick. We can take our sweet time finishing those and that is when I have to have a come to Jesus moment like girl you have 6 of this same scent and you aren't melting any of it. Melt at least 1.5 or 2 this month and figure out what you are going to do. I just removed Pima Cotton from my club because I had 6 bars. With all the talk of Frosty Air being similar I told myself if anything I can club that one end of F/W catalog.
I feel pretty good at resisting most of the S/S offerings but F/W is my weakness. I do need to make more effort on my bricks as well.

Take inventory and keep track. You’ll be motivated by numbers going down and you will get less likely to buy because your number will go up
I’m cool with the amount of wax I have, I’m very particular about limiting my storage space so there’s an external control to tell me when my intake is off-balance. Open shelving would be the end of me 😂. I also limit my buying to Scentsy and 1 vendor-I suspect it’s tougher for folks who love half a dozen makers and are always excited for a new company.
These Christmas bricks are going to put me RIGHT at the edge of my brick space, so that’ll be an area to attend to. But my bricks are almost all staples and fall/winter, so there’s not a lot of prep I could do ahead of time. 🤷🏻♀️

I have about 12 oats and honey bars because it’s in my monthly club. Same with lemon coconut chiffon. I don’t want to take them out of the club just incase they won’t come back for 5 years. I have to start telling myself since it’s in your monthly club to warm a bar every month

@@PatriciaG-NosetoToes yes but there are some monthly bars in there that I need on a monthly basis. I don’t really like the spring/summer scents so I live out of my club during those months. I also have a quarterly club and what I do is when that club is going to process that month I move my monthly club to bi monthly so I really only get my monthly club 8 times a year
I have BBMBs from 2016! Definitely feeling overwhelmed and FOMOed into a hoarding situation. I have at least half a dozen warmers going 24/7 and I work from home but it’s still not enough to keep up with the constant inflow from multiple sources. 🥴
