Has anyone ever mentioned to you that you appear to have a swollen lymph node on the right side of your neck? It may be something else of course, but it wouldn't hurt to get it checked. Love.
listening to different genres of music on pandora is a great way too I hear plenty of music most producers won't know about and of course going digging it is fun and very helpful
(runs upstage)... all i wanna say is that this brother right here had one of the sickest beats i have ever heard!!! that is all. - drops mic good looks brodie!!
you can sample your drums from funk/soul/rock really anything with breakbeats. layer um and eq to your liking and no one will have your drums unless they sample out of your beat. you can either support sampling culture and leave some open or you can make sure everything has something over it either way you can be known for your drums alone(think dilla)
whats the name of that christmas carol called? But thanks for the tutorials definitely giving me a better understanding on how to chop! keep up the good work!!
you sample wat you listen too and what you like. I sample mostly video game music and 90s r and b and some current stuff cuz thats what i know. but i need to start digging further for some soul samples
Great video man. Keep up the good work. I don't really sample much but prolly should every now and then; lately i've seen a lot of good videos about chopping samples. I have a 2000xl that's been just sitting for about 10 years. I might midi it up and mess wit some samples after seeing your video!!! Thanks.
if u could post a video on vinyl sampling? and show me how i hook the gear up. and if not thanx anyway. ur vids have been more than helpful. ol` youtube instructor. thanx
and not forget to lay down some decent reverb and/or delay. chop one up, play every second 1/4 and let the delay fill the empty one. keep your spin comin!
Great tips man. I wanted to ask you how many and what effect you use on your beats. I use mpc 1000 and I can put only two effects at the same time. I mainly use reverb and 4band eq. My friend has a mpc2500 and he also has only two effects. Can you put more than two on 2000xl?
I'm thinking of buying an Akai MPK61, now, I have never used an mpc at all, but I recently started to make some basic sampling beats with FL studio just with the slicex and the playlist, I'm starting to really get into it, Music in general is so important to me, but the thing is, when I make beats right now, I feel like its too much looping in every beat I make, Anyway do you think I should get the MPK61 ? :) Great Video btw:)!
I NEED TO KNOW THIS, The Enya sample is really slow anyway and you slowed it down even more how did it match the drums at a normal bpm for hip hop 90- 120? I have a Terence Blanchard sample I really want to use but it's to slow but you and the fugees made it work, HOW? If you slow something down enough does it come back in time?
That last sample goes hard af!...me personally I think chopping samples will always be more creative than looping cause it's not repetitive and like u said before u have "more control" anyways I see u use the MPC do u use any DAW's also? sownds08
Caiman Industrial I guess you're thinking about the sample which also Fugees used in Ready Or Not? Its Era. Go to whosampled dot com and search for it and you'll find what you're looking for. Dope video Sownd by the way..
+Petter Pikk Hey man i was talking about the second sample after this one....... if you watch the video there comes something esle on it...... this is my new account and new name Caiman the sample i was talking about starts on 9mins....
+aksun111 that's wats sup. I decided to get the mpc studio first. Then afterward get a midi keyboard. I would've bought the 2000 but it was really expensive compared to the studio. but thanks for your suggestion though man
On the third way u chopped it did u group all ur pads to the same group so they was cut Eachother off of did u set the cut off point perfect to fit the beat if that makes scenes
I need help on how to record the layering of the sounds I choose to use im having problems with the programming part of this whole producing process music is in me naturally but making my creative side become one with learning FL STUDIOS is a problem and with no one helping to show me is a waist of valuable time so if you get were im coming from can you get me to were my skill should be !!!thanks
How'd you create the effects on the Eva Cassidy sample? I'm trying to recreate it but it's not sound too good. Using the MPC Studio with the MPC software, I do have ableton 9 live and logic pro x as well. Any help is appreciated.
hey sownds, how do you slow down the sample without pressin the "DO IT" button on the mpc2000xl? how to audition the sample while controlling the speed?

sownds08 KayKayTheProducer What are both of your thoughts towards the MPC 2500 ?
You should sell the MPC 60.
Has anyone ever mentioned to you that you appear to have a swollen lymph node on the right side of your neck? It may be something else of course, but it wouldn't hurt to get it checked. Love.

listening to different genres of music on pandora is a great way too I hear plenty of music most producers won't know about and of course going digging it is fun and very helpful
wow what a sick beat!!! can't wait to sample til I get a MPC of my own.
dig the way this guy makes tracks; no computer screens to get in the way, just focused on making music.
no matter what youre using this will work even if you're not using the mpc as long as what you are using has sampling capabilities
good help on your videos.. ive been out the mix for a few years. just got a mpc studio and a microstation.. trying to set up my everyday drumms..

You got skills. That last beat was crazy. Thnx for sharing.
you can sample your drums from funk/soul/rock really anything with breakbeats. layer um and eq to your liking and no one will have your drums unless they sample out of your beat. you can either support sampling culture and leave some open or you can make sure everything has something over it either way you can be known for your drums alone(think dilla)

TH-cam is a good place to start. Try looking up hip hop samples to see what artists other producers get their samples from

For beginners in music production, do you recommend they get a mpc studio or a midi keyboard first?
+sha'kir jones I just couldn't decide so i bought akai mpk 49, but I didn't like the pads on the mpk so I just bought m-audio trigger finger pro. :)
+aksun111 that's wats sup. I decided to get the mpc studio first. Then afterward get a midi keyboard. I would've bought the 2000 but it was really expensive compared to the studio. but thanks for your suggestion though man
+sha'kir jones You could get the akai mpk which is kind of both in one but if i had to choose between the two, I would get a midi controller first
On the third way u chopped it did u group all ur pads to the same group so they was cut Eachother off of did u set the cut off point perfect to fit the beat if that makes scenes
+JoeySmokes I always do it were it makes sense for the track I'm working on.
