I thought this was going in a whole different tragic direction than this. I was thinking the Listener Character was going to have Vex stay true to course and turn themselves in and give the bounty to the captain. Giving their "greatest treasure" (their life) and the bounty willingly. And the captain would only recover and find out afterwards, possibly too late to try and save the Listener from the gallows. Really enjoyed this ending though, felt a lot more piratey then what I thought it was going to be, a lot less sad too.
I remember a time when movies and books ended like this, with a clever reveal or two, a couple plot twists, and then angst-free happy endings. Maybe even a party where the entire cast is, oh, I don't know, *alive* to celebrate in the first place. We rarely get that anymore for reasons that are forever beyond my comprehension. So, Briar and Eris, thank you for this great story.

It was awesome! XD literally thought that was it when the treasure didn't work but damn so happy when the "real treasure" did work and they get to live their pirate life's where hopefully they won't steal another witch treasure, also loved the witch xD
That series was rather interesting. I still think the other captain serves time for some of the charges but when the navy hears about the witchcraft being caused by an actual witch, they'll likely try to keep everyone away from her islands in hopes of not having to face her wrath again. Compliments to both VAs for a great performance.
