Got the old Riviera back home ended up putting a carburetor on it and fresh gas in the car runs great transmission shift through all the gears. The only rust is a little bit in the frame in the rear but not bad. I like it a lot better than the Chrysler because the Chrysler requires more work Silas. Keep up the good work. Thanks.

Yep the plaid covers was almost certainly a dealer option you could get. Nothing on that looks aftermarket. Sure looked solid and a prime candidate for a rebuild (no none of the low rider 🙄)
Old Chrysler looks a lot more interesting. Better lines. Dash / interior look fantastic. Hope it finds a home. PS - the shirt you were wearing during the video ending monologue matched the cars interior.

Some of those look like they are in better shape than my daily driver. All the old junkyards around here got cleared out 25+ years ago to make way for housing.

For back East? That first gen Blazer is a prime builder! I have seen far far worse of those first gens salvaged, because around here they are truly rare, compared to the demand. Seems the further west you go, the more solid bodies are demanded. What west coast people consider strictly parts cars, are all prime builders back east. West coast builders are all spoiled by those solid desert bodies. Even that second gen would likely be a builder here. Oh BTW once again a BIG Thank You for sharing your adventures with us! I like to show your videos to my husband. I stop them on a certain vehicle to test and see if he still knows what is what. I stopped the video at 18:57 and asked him...well I didn't get the chance he said 409. Then he taught me about the m shaped valve covers. lol. LOL, started it again and you said 348 so I said you were wrong. He then said something again about the valve covers. He is watching the Voice so he wasn't really paying attention.
Man I had to study the video. When you opened the hood on the GMC, I figured for sure it had the big block V6 in it, and I couldn't make out the plug wire count. But yes the oil filler tube makes it easy to id it as a 348. I didn't think they put those in GMCs.

I was born in the back seat of a 47 Chrysler just like this one here, same color even but the one I was born in, a new car at the time was a Red real leather seats car. Special order by my grandfather, he ordered it with the leather seats and I seen the work order on that car. It was in our family for a good many years. Even tho said, its worth a ton more than the newer tin can you traded... in my opinion. I would suspect that to some young millennial, if its got some special meaning to them, its a valuable rig. With such a high level of new popularity in Internationals, they can be in very rough condition and still want rehomed to a good many folks who are getting aware of their potential.... and four door cars are on a surge of popularity. Last part of this comment is the frameless window doors are a one only... a standard door would be very difficult to modify..... I myself would repair those doors as their framework is solid enough to do the repairs... I am a body and fender person so tend to see the potential in different vehicles... and I also can see them done in my mind so its easier for me to repair one

Great trade-in RAV4 the old Chrysler because if you're just going to squish the Riviera why not gamble with the Chrysler. Probably similar wait anyway. Great score on the blazers. I know a guy has one he wants $7,000 for it and the side of it looks good until you get within five feet and its tissue paper for the side of the bad. But he does have the topper. It's on best of shape. I think you paid $1,000 for that topper. He was glad to get it for that price too. Do this guy puts together 50s 60s and early 70s Chevy trucks. And he probably does a couple hundred a period of 3 years. He assembles stuff for the next guy to finish. I share all that stuff to show that he knows what he's paying for.
Hopefully a video will come out on shipping in all the cars crushed 15 years ago! I’m excited to see what’s in the pile and how everything aged sitting crushed for so long!
