i remember this game from when i was a kid, i loved it, unfortunately i only had that level from the demo, but i played it like a thousand times a week :P such a nostalgia hit to see this vid ^_^
Good times man im gonna play old school with this game again just for the hell of this song cuz the finale is just omfg perfect. Great way to end it. You rock Japan!
i finished this game on master and normal its a awesome game and this is my fav level especially those hardcore guitar rifts .. a must have title thanks for uploading it mate :))))
You're not gonna believe this. It took me damn near five years to get this game. I searched and searched, but I could never get my hands on a copy. Then one day I managed to FINALLY find the very VERY last copy of the game at Gamestop. It was used, but luckily it was in good quality. The guy at gamestop said I was lucky because this is a rare game to find. Totally worth the 17 dollars.
I hate those videos taken with a cam in front of a tv! I always want to show my friends what this game is because no one's ever heard of it but the videos on TH-cam are almost always awful. This is probably my favorite level too :D Thanks for posting it!
Yea that is normal play, from what a friend tells me (correct me if this is wrong) the track differs from the soundtrack because it gives you certain lines of music depending on how well you are doing. But it does take you through most, if not all the sequences. Because do you notice this one jumps a little compared to the soundtrack? like missing parts or some in slightly different places? (again, long time since listening to the soundtrack, I'll correct myself on that)
Damn I'm almost gonna die from this damn nostalgia!!!It's just too much and is Chuck Norris the one playing this?I found this game to be pretty difficult back when I was a kid.
I remember seeing this game shown on TV in the early days of the PS2 and having no luck finding it in shops, so I eventually gave up on it. Only years later after buying a copy on eBay do I find out that the original print (2002) in Europe, as well as the US, was produced in limited quantities despite it being on an official PS2 demo disc (which I didn't have)... My child self was deprived of this awesome game, but at least I have it now for closure I guess.
I am still trying to learn how to play this on the guitar...it is such a brilliant song. I already have the synth and drum parts down. I'll get it eventually.
Omg, I never knew such an awesome game ever existed on the PS2... o_O And everyone else just lived their happy lives keeping the good stuff to themselves T___T
It can be any button on the right side as well, I tend to play using the X button, and found that all of them do the task. O is just what they teach you in the tutorial
Well, then I was wrong, everywhere I checked here within almost a 30 mile radius (most of it all) I can't find anyone who has it, and most wonder what I am talking about. But glad you are able to pick up a copy if you wish.
this game is tough.... I'm stuck on the space shark :( that shit is to fast... I don't even know if practice helps... I might just be physically incapable
i love this game so much i borrowed on ps2, i tried to buy but it was quite rare, but then when i got my psp i got for that and im SUPER PRO, im stuck on the castle boss with gregorio, so hard, im suprised i got past the shark on and the skeleton one, shark was very hard BTW how do you record this cos i wonna make a vid of me playing gitaroo man
@CryingDaffodil Actually Guitar Freaks and Drum Mania was the original Guitar Hero. Came out in arcades wayyyy before gitaroo man. As well as Keyboard Mania, Dance Maniacs, ect. Gitaroo Man is still amazing =w=
@Buizeru421 Best game ever. You follow the line with the analog stick, and press any of the four main buttons when a circle appears (and you hold it till it ends). pretty fun
Gitaroo Man is so hard to be consistent with. I mean, some days I completely own, and other days I have a hell of a time completing half the levels. Doesn't help that I tend to mash the buttons which hurts my thumb after a while.
@CryingDaffodil They are games in the same genre. No one "stole" anything. That is like saying that today's platformers "stole" the idea from Donkey Kong, or that modern first person shooters "stole" the idea from Maze War. (Also, YoruTaro makes an excellent point about Gitaroo Man not being the first in its genre anyway.)
Also i noticed you dont do the flick at the end of the longer notes.... when you are just about to complete a note on attack or charge if you flick up or down verticaly adjacent to the note then it takes off more damage or gives you more charge. Its hard to explain...
This will always and forever be my FAVORITE level. I'm insane though- if I feel I haven't made enough greats I will reset the level. Master play, or original. Just like in DDR, Bust a groove, Un jamerlami, unison, etc. I need a worthy opponent. Well deff have to play
exactly why it wasn't out there, just a less heard of, and less publicized game, which was a hit, and could have been huge, had it had a bit more publicity.
This is the best rhythm game EVER. I am one of the lucky owners of this masterpiece. I love it, I love it, I love it. ....however, my personal record is higher!!! :P
this level is crazy on master play, dont think i ever beat it, gregorio n the skeleton bros (or whatever theyre called) has to be ridiculous on master play. the songs also have different parts depending on how good u do, n theres some sick solos when u play this on master play
Wow I can't believe this used to be high res.
i remember this game from when i was a kid, i loved it, unfortunately i only had that level from the demo, but i played it like a thousand times a week :P such a nostalgia hit to see this vid ^_^
i love how the elvis background guy is having the time of his life, even when running in fear.
One of the best tracks in a music game. I listen to this at least one or twice a year haha
Good times man im gonna play old school with this game again just for the hell of this song cuz the finale is just omfg perfect. Great way to end it. You rock Japan!
This is the theme of my childhood.
I love this stage. Just got the game a week ago, it is a gem.
I can't be the only one that played this on the Demo disk as a kid and found it fucking beyond frightening? That "You lose" still gives me the creeps.
i finished this game on master and normal its a awesome game and this is my fav level especially those hardcore guitar rifts .. a must have title thanks for uploading it mate :))))
i remember this game from when i was a kid, good times!

You're not gonna believe this. It took me damn near five years to get this game. I searched and searched, but I could never get my hands on a copy. Is it wrong my head moves up down or left and right when I see the symbols 🔺🔴❌⬛
I hate those videos taken with a cam in front of a tv! I always want to show my friends what this game is because no one's ever heard of it but the videos on TH-cam are almost always awful. This is probably my favorite level too :D Thanks for posting it!
pretty impressing... could you tell me how you got the video onto your PC i mean you didn´t just film the tv-screen did you
man the way this level starts is absolutely crazy!!
When i had this game,i loved this stage the most.the song is too awesome.

this game looks so frickin fun. I found a gamestop nearby that has one, headed to pick that shit up tomorrow!
I've heard of this game but this is the first time I've seen it. How do you play it? Looks fun, since I love music games.
This video's over 13 years old and jaboody got me to check it out on Justins Birthday.
Damn I'm almost gonna die from this damn nostalgia!!!It's just too much and is Chuck Norris the one playing this?I found this game to be pretty difficult back when I was a kid.

the only game i can finish repeatedly in one day without EVER getting bored
I had a demo of this game, and this song was amazing. Is there a Gitaroo Man soundtrack?
Parappa + Gintaroo man revival collaboration coming!!
OMG, the breakdown @3:45 into the Final @3:55 gives me goosebumps!
PUMA OH NOES!

name of the song is Flyin' Trough your Heart
The nostalgia!!!
this was my favorite song along with the acoustic legendary theme!
I love this lvl and the opera guy. He's weird but the music is full-on legit
It can be any button on the right side as well, I tend to play using the X button, and found that all of them do the task. O is just what they teach you in the tutorial
This was my fav game for so long.
And this has always been my fav song.
Im actually thinking about getting a PS3 just so I can play this game again.
Unfortunately theres no, 'Gitaroo man Lives' on PSP however features 2 new songs in duett.
Maybe you can also check out a few BEMANI games ;)
Dude, if you can find it, which I was lucky enough to, They have a soundtrack out to the game with a few diff. versions of certain songs.
This game looks fun, and there's eurobeat in it, I think imma buy this if I ever see it.
God this brings back memories, I remember playing this on one of the Ps1 demo disk's
Man I'm so dope at this game, was there ever a gitaroo man 2? apart from gitaroo live on psp?
dood, im stuck on mojo king bee in masters play hahah, after a week i quit
now im gona get back to it
Well, then I was wrong, everywhere I checked here within almost a 30 mile radius (most of it all) I can't find anyone who has it, and most wonder what I am talking about. But glad you are able to pick up a copy if you wish.
I love this quirky game to pieces.
Indeed. This is the original guitar hero.
How do you play this game? with a dualshock controller or a guitar controller?
best game ever. My sister and I used to rent this all the time. I could never get past the shark guy where it was all defense.
I know what you mean, it took me 2 whole weeks to beat Gregeroo The III, and it took me 4 days to finally beat the final stage
I remember playing this as a kid with my 2 older sisters, I missed this game so much I finally got an emulator for it, im too excited.
PlanetChocolate what emulator did you use ?
Looks like Flying-O's eyes are tired .
guest19901990 needs to get thyroid checked
this is like close encounters of the third kind gone horribly wrong
Omg I love this game... Unfortunately they don't sell this game in the stores where I come from... :(
this game is tough.... I'm stuck on the space shark :(
that shit is to fast... I don't even know if practice helps... I might just be physically incapable
i love this game so much
i borrowed on ps2, i tried to buy but it was quite rare, but then when i got my psp i got for that and im SUPER PRO, im stuck on the castle boss with gregorio, so hard, im suprised i got past the shark on and the skeleton one, shark was very hard

Gitaroo Man was the SICKEST game. I'm hoping for a sequel with the Guitar from Guitar hero!
Love that game.
Used about a million hours playing it. :P
Nicely done :D
How about playing it in master? :P
Ah memories. I loved this game!
This game is awesome! Best rhythm game I've ever played!
@CryingDaffodil

I worked on the graphics engine for this game when I lived in Japan - I don't have a copy though, which sucks for me.
an A?!?! i think you deserve an S, that was fantastic, i love this game, do you have a vid of your going up against Gregorio the 3rd at level 8?
its been years but I still love it! =p
Finals are in five hours and I'm watching Gitaroo Man.
Also i noticed you dont do the flick at the end of the longer notes.... when you are just about to complete a note on attack or charge if you flick up or down verticaly adjacent to the note then it takes off more damage or gives you more charge. Its hard to explain...
Actually the PS2 version does have an English version of the song.
This will always and forever be my FAVORITE level. I'm insane though- if I feel I haven't made enough greats I will reset the level. Master play, or original. Just like in DDR, Bust a groove, Un jamerlami, unison, etc. I need a worthy opponent. Well deff have to play
Did u have to move the blue beam thing around aswell? I forgot, it was that long ago
my copy should come any day now.
CANT WAIT
@mattysillyer well they have it on PSP.
this game makes Elite Beat Agents look normal and mainstream
One of the best games ever.
exactly why it wasn't out there, just a less heard of, and less publicized game, which was a hit, and could have been huge, had it had a bit more publicity.
Ouch, that crash sounded like it hurts.
YOUUUUU WIIIIIN HEHE
"Sexy Lady please!"
Sh*t man!
I had the Gitaroo Man as a Demo CD on PS2,
I had two times Class 'A' score but I didn't ever get that great score up!
Yes. Check Amazon or eBay.
XD! the masters is so fun...is it just me or does masters mode also sound different?
WHY CANT I STOP WATCHING THIS?

This is the best rhythm game EVER.
I am one of the lucky owners of this masterpiece.

....however, my personal record is higher!!! :P
its about 4 yers cinse I playd this game and i love it. dunno why but somthin i heard reminded me of it so here i am ^^
@CryingDaffodil How did they steal the idea? Rhythm games are a genre and Gitaroo-Man is hardly the first Rhythm game.
Dude, they made a soundtrack, that's even harder to come by.
Finals are in two weeks and I'm watching Gitaroo Man
gotta love small schools, they do their own shit
"YooOoooOoou win!"
favorite part haha
this level is crazy on master play, dont think i ever beat it, gregorio n the skeleton bros (or whatever theyre called) has to be ridiculous on master play.
the songs also have different parts depending on how good u do, n theres some sick solos when u play this on master play
there is also eBay, and where could you live that they don't sell it? I mean, there are always ways.
