    Dismantled my pedals to clean them after the brake pedal began playing up - some springs fell off when I took the case off and I didn't know where to replace them! Thanks to your video I was able to put them back together and now they are working perfectly! You do mention the importance of the black teeth fitting properly onto the white cog of the potentiometer - I didn't do it properly first time which resulted in maximum acceleration/braking before the pedals were fully depressed. Thanks again - very helpful video.

      ALEX KIM wow! I managed to find my old DFGT wheel sitting in a basket because yeah, the pedals stopped working and the DP was stuck in the up direction, but the wheel still works and I’m wanting to fix it (and I think I fixed the DP problem just by using it some)

    2009 driving force gt still going strong now thanks to this. I give this wheel so much abuse and it still won't die haha

      GF gave it a try in Dirt 2, yanked the thing right off the desk about 15 seconds later, right onto her lap.
      She was fine, but the wheel would not turn on afterwards, only after a PC restart.

    I've had my DFGT for 8 years. Cracked the brake pedal and glued it back into place lasted for another 2 years now the brake spring has snapped and i think i finally need a new wheel and pedals now.

    • @z33tanner
      @z33tanner 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Update: Made it another 3 more years by using a bungee cord as a brake spring and a C-clamp to hold the wheel on since the clamp broke. Just upgraded to a G29, I'll miss the DFGT for sure!

    Thanks a lot for this video, it really saved my butt! I couldn't resist opening the pedals of my wheel after the first day of usage, because I thought the spring of the brake pedal was out of place. (turned out it's just a weak spring) It wasn't the first pedalset, I've opened, but I had no idea that it would fall apart instantly and be so hard to put back together. However, the idea of clamping it to the table plus knowing how the pedals align with the pentiometer and how the springs align with the housing instantly made it an easy job!
    Turned out the brake pedal just is that weak. Guess I'll glue a spring to the pedal to get more resistance. Or does anyone know the pinout of the pedals? Then I could soughter a DB9 connector to the pedals of my old, broken Thrustmaster Ferrari F430. If I could use those pedals with the logitech wheel, that would be perfect!

      I often have to press it down fully to accelerate, and because of that, manual shifting is useless.

    • @davidhiggins7436
      @davidhiggins7436  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's only plastic m8. they are loose with not much resistance.
      I run a T300 now as im on ps4.
      I would maybe suggest a t150, g29 or the t300 to you instead. they do ps3 and 4. :-)

    I'm having erratic response with my pedals. When I play Gran Turismo (6, that is), It's like my pedal has its own traction control On. The pedal is applying gas on it's own in tiny rapid bits when I let go off it. It's weird, so I was wondering it could be the potentio-meters (?) that our gent here is talking about...
    However, it seems no amount of dusting can fix it...
