Hallucinogen - Shamanix (Domestic & Spacecat Remix) released on 2022-09-05 by TIP Records - TIPR2022043
HALLUCINOGEN is Simon Posford's solo project... he is also in the popular bands SHPONGLE and YOUNGER BROTHER. His Track SHAMANIX was initially released on TIP Record's compilation YELLOW, the first edition of the Shiva series, back in Dec 1994. It would set dancefloors alight with it's explosive tribal, acid groove and became an instant hit and a seminal track in the Goatrance genre.
In October 1995, Shamanix featured on Hallucinogen's groundbreaking first album called TWISTED on YOUTH's record label DRAGONFLY where Simon had been working as the in-house engineer.
Fast forward to 2022, DOMESTIC and SPACECAT have remixed this classic and brought it a new shine with their modern production, but whilst carefully keeping the vibe and style of the original. This has produced a monster of a remix that has been reigniting dancefloors much in the same way it did 28 years ago! We at TIP are immensely proud to have released the original and now this fantastic remix.

I was peaking in 2003 when this song played. And then i saw the fine fabric of reality expand and i took a peek through the gap.. what i saw changed my whole life forever...also, first post.
what did you see?
For those who might wonder, the god in the drawing is Quetzalcóatl if im not mistaken. according to Wikipedia Quetzalcóatl was the god of winds and rain, and the creator of the world and humanity. In Central Mexico from 1200, the feathered serpent god was considered the patron god of priests and merchants as well as the god of learning, science, agriculture, crafts and the arts.
Happy that the melody in 6:40 is in here, absolutely extatic piece!

there's a hunter s thompson quote from fear & loathing, which talks about the hippy mvement in the 60's being like a wave, and if you stood on the right place you could see where the wave broke and the waters rolled back, that quote and the original version of this track are always connected for me, because i always thought that psytrance/goa trance as a genre, peaked at the second everything kicks in after 'i'm on fucking fire', and those last three or four minutes are as perfect a bit of trance as you can get, and no-one has quite got close since. but that's just like, my opinion, dude. the remix is great, looking forward to getting an opportunity to play it out and loud x

@@rudolfssuna6203 empirikal = dekel and gorovich, both really good but i still believing that space cat is who had closer influence from simon when making music.
Sure, but still they have some good and outstanding interpretations to some of the Hallucinogens old-school tracks, which are worth to be mentioned.

In recent years, really strange rmx, and collaborations that haven't even come out of nowhere. . . 🤨, but this track deserves the respect it received from these two greats! But it was also expected because The Godfather announced it as a banger, but literally! WELL DONE !

@@Thesortvokter i dont believe so, specially when played in a good soundsystem like 'funktion one' or 'pure groove'.... i lack of bass, the bass nowadays is something totally different, i prefer what we have now...
