It is kinda annoy me that they still don’t get enough credits for their participation in the production of their songs such as the songwriting. They admitted many times that they did participate in the songwriting and composition. For example, after releasing As If Your Last, during an interview, Lisa admit that she wrote the rap verse for that song. In a behind the scene video, Jennie admitted that she wrote Stay. That is why she feel very emotional when performing Stay live. Yet, they didn’t get the credits for their work because YG didn’t put their name on the credit lists.

Ok Asian Theory Here is my theory in regard to the mysterious 1 year hiatuses(3 in the last 6 years = not scarcity strategy[give YG too much credit - this is more like New Coke which Coke admitted just dumb mistake that worked - also lucky BP is like Coke classic] also why do unusual = no new music, Videos or concerts to anger fans) of only BLACKPINK(BP). Korean Censorship which is stricter than what we have in the U.S.(the highest standard of freedom). South Korea on the other hand has bans on all Japanese programming and music because of corrupting influence on younger minds. Even BTS go go and EXO’s Lotto have been banned as well as BP’s Boombayah(maybe why so few BP songs). Therefore since BP pushes more often the boundary to American standards, but almost passed Korean conservative standards, they are subject to evaluation for possible banning or termination. Other K-pop groups relent and go back to the safety of K-pop, but when they skirt the edge of K-pop like BP’s Kill this Love, love sick girls and boombayah which Korean censors deem teaching girls bad behavior(except for square up ep because Dududu was too ambiguous to censor) must be analyzed for a year as a warning/deterrent to make BP go back to the safety of K “G” or “PG” Pop only, not K “PG-13” Pop or beyond(which is why I am not into K-pop in general - need variety from G, PG, PG-13, R to NC-17 rated songs in lyrics and music), but YG is defiant because of the money and global goal. So these comebacks will continue after exactly another year off commanded by Korean censors a.k.a. Hockey K-pop Penalty box. That is why Jennie seem sick to her stomach responding with her heart on her sleeve when the risky first one year break or censor occurred only 1 year after debut. I read her face and body language and she said Not too sure because it was that serious that censors could’ve ended BP. Note Jennie went for solo career in 2018 just in case after 1st break, Rose in 2019 after second break and Lisa in 2021 after third break and most are tamer compared to BP’s dangerous branding except for Lisa because she’s Thai. I’m sure the censors and YG have an uneasy compromise of you don’t let your Korean artists cross the line and we’ll keep delaying you, but not stopping you(, but who knows Lisa may have crossed it for penalty). Why isn’t this a story because of more censorship and the cover story of perfecting the songs is accepted. However there was no one year break between safe Square up and more dangerous kill this love eps. Thank Goodness BLACKPINK hasn’t been stopped, can’t be stopped and won’t be Stopped!!! This is akin to American Tipper Gore(politician Al Gore’s wife) and her parental group getting explicit warning labels on U.S. music in the 90’s which backfired into more sales of those labeled so. So now BLACKPINK is too big to stop or slowdown 🤑. Now the only thing to determine is will BP be a what If(K-pop transition to ? Or one off) or trailblazers(Post K-Pop)? So far I see them as What If’s because the song Don’t Know what to do had a great electric guitar riff to begin, but instead of building on it with harder electric guitars in chorus, they did a beeping K-pop sound instead, so we could’ve had a K-pop Rock classic…oh well next time? maybe the Solos? Jisoo is K ‘G” Pop/children songs as she has said if she goes solo. Jennie is K “PG’ Pop and no more. Rose is pure Pop. So last hope Is Lisa who is a self-proclaimed K-pop fan whose K-HipHop could lead the way? Don’t get me wrong, the Korean Censors can pull the plug on BP or anyone else at any time if they deem it damaging to Korean Culture and even sacrificing all that money in the process. Why haven’t they cancelled BP yet? Money, worldwide uproar and sly producing/managing by YG? Total Censor cancellation, delaying discouraging penalty box and maybe bringing Twice back or other safer alternatives to counter BP aside, what is the future of BP? I hear they have a 7 year contract, so soon it will expire. Will they be renewed? Will only some be renewed(new members)? And/Or will they disband and all go solo? Jisoo will become an actress first like she wanted to before BP? Rose & Lisa want to do more western music? What do I want? I’m not a Blink so I am ok for them to end to preserve how special they were than to witness them decline and age. Plus I wasn’t into K-Pop or BP music that much. What appealed to me more was their amusing social interactions on K-reality, K-game shows and social media. But I would wonder what if they could try to go full pop, rock and/or hip hop under other producers as a group or solo? They could be the next Destiny’s Child, TLC or Chloe x Halle or solo Beyoncé, Rihanna or Aaliyah or Maybe not and right now they have hit the ceiling & they have fulfilled their potential(maybe being a K-Pop hybrid made them special)? Someone else will be Trailblazers Or not? I guess we will see. Maybe a totally new BLACKPINK 2.0 with a new Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, Lisa or more? Not for me, but could the old line-up free itself from K-pop and Korean censors with or without YG? Could that happen or are they bound irrevocably to Korea or YG(sell & set them free? Free agency to Foreign music companies? totally independent?) or will Korean culture adopt new modern standard? Maybe too much trouble(Korean banishment & uproar?) or worth all the risk(All time Pop Icons?)? Remember 1970’s Bruce Lee wasn’t embraced by Chinese cultural authorities until after 1989 Tank Man/Tiananmen square raised Chinese modern standards a decade later because he was too American like BLACKPINK COULD BE? Power of the individual is anti-traditional Asian and BP’s Jisoo, Rose, Jennie and Lisa are powerful and could be too powerful of nails sticking way out and can’t be hammered down 💯

I am so sick of Rose' getting the least mentioned or shown on these shows, no mention of her 2 Guiness world records for her solo songs, she was most searched on Google in 2020, YG neglects her. Where is all the sexy, gorgeous pics of Rose' on stage or modeling? Or her famous hair flips? Sick of it, I hope she leaves, goes solo and becomes superstar under expert management.
