Alchemist didn't show the records because he doesn't want y'all coppin the gems he did. There's records I've found that I don't tell my other producer friends about.
this aint 1996 where cats are starting to learn sampling on a mass scale... he simply forgot to show em, like the new school cops.. .. lol he fuckn gives away dope samples in a series.
@@4partmedialook i know this comment is 4 years ago but i just have to say he literally says he isnt gonna show you the records in the first minute or so of the video
It's a Pete Rock & CL Smooth compilation. If you ever wanna double check what records they are talking about follow the link in the description for the full list of picks.
Before alch spoke, i had a feeling he wasnt gunna speak on his records. As a fellow digger, why would he do it. Haha, he didnt disapoint , a true digger can appreciate him not revealing 'em.
Maxine Nightingale - Night Life Patti LaBelle - Tasty Bobby King - Love In the Fire Graham Central Station - Mirror The Emotions - Come Into Our World Linda Clifford - I'm Yours Champaign - Woman In Flames Bob Bailey - Looking Forward Biddu & The Orchestra - Eastern Man Pattie Brooks - Our Ms. Brooks Alfie - That Look Gregory Abbott - I'll Prove It to You Cheryl Lynn - Cheryl Lynn
Alchemist i9s spot on about Beastie boys 'Paul boutique' album. It's still ahead of it's time & it was made in 1989.1 of the best Lps EVER,end of!..!..!
Much agreed kool g rap is one of the best rappers of all time. And Paul's boutique is the best beastie boys cd for sure. Rip to MCA. A true pioneer of music in general.
@ITsmusicpage Ha! Yeah. I actually think Ev was making a joke out of it. He says something like 'my prize possession today - an angry Chris Brown photo' like he's having a joke.
Evidence is talented as hell..I knew he could rap but i heard some of his beats and their sick as hell too...The soul assassins crew is doin it big out in cali...The way me and my crew are trying to get it out here in south jersey..High and Mighty ENTERTAINMENT!!
Good musicians. Although I don't feel them too much anymore in the past few years unfortunately... They focused a bit too much on the doe... Or just wanted to change their style, don't wanna hate... Could someone tell me the beat from the intro??? Would appreciate it alot.
Alc and Hav somewhat recently did an album together. They've worked together a lot in the past (I felt like he could have said way more about that, but whatever). Anyway, the album is dope. Lotta people on here singing Alc's praises and that's fair. But the dude was highly influenced by Havoc. And some of those saying Alchemist is the GOAT.... give me a break. He's great. I can think of a number of producers who are way more influential and have put together shit that sticks with you forever. Not coincidentally, Havoc is one of them.
@Alex Baum one minute you say he’s “dope” and in the next breath you try to undermine him, you’re a hater, btw, your comment is gone you stupid c un t, “intellectually disabled” either English isn’t your 1st language or you’re just a stupid c un t, I’m going with the latter 🤡
@Alex Baum and as of now, 5 years after you making that comment, Alc is definitely in the 🐐 conversation, it’s undeniable but I’ll let you carry on hating 🤡
"You want sumn to get inspired?" Lol Alc high as fuck in this video crackin me up. You can jus tell from the beginning, funny kinda awkward smirk going on haha I got that vibe too
@DLcKxFTR Ha, probably. I saw the Rush doc and drummer Neal Peart said he's like that, focused performing but awkward around fans. All good, I still send peace to EV, DPs & Alc.

I love how Alchemist gets all "hip hop 101" with the audience "If you don't know about Pete Rock & CL Smooth..."
Cut the alc slander right now everyone, he's chill af, watch any other video he comes off as down to earth.
This video got me into Kool G. Rap.
Awesome! Hearing about the picks/discoveries that clicked with you is our favorite kind of feedback. Thanks for watching and commenting!

+StarChild LaRock : What about Mr. Green? He's getting up there.

Alchemist is kind of playing a character so to speak. Like the stereotypical rapper ya know? He's not actually being douchey
I was thinking that but i think he probably has chilled around alot of black guys growin up and shit so im not hating me
Alchemist is just very very very New York!!
