    I've just bought one of these. It's exciting to see how much you can do with the Tone Print outside of the basic knob controls. Brilliant stuff! Although, you can see how much force the mash buttons needs to get full deflection!

    Fabulous demo ! TC should give you money because you just convinced me to buy one (or a Plethora). EHX pitch fork might work better for simple pitch/harmonizer but the TC has so much more options. Could you tell me what guitar / pickups you're using ? I love your tone. Thanks

      Yeah the Brainwaves has a lot of features it is much more than a pitch shifter pedal.
      I’m using a Charvel DC-2 (with Seymour Duncan SH-2N and SH-4), and Line 6 HX Stomp (mainly clean Fender amp models). I record direct from the HX Stomp.

  • @jjjames226

      @@DoNoise first of all thank you for your answer.
      I enjoyed the full video, but i had some doubt about "increasing" semitones...
      Because it seems to drop the tune only, as a lot of pedals do... but it's difficult to find a pedal that increases the tune for the whole 12 semitones. So you confirm that it works like that?

    • @DoNoise
      @DoNoise  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TakeshiRG yes it does (08:54). Most people don’t focus on shifting up because just using an actual capo gets you a better (and a real) tone. Brainwaves does shift up and you can set it to any semitone.

    • @DoNoise

    (For that matter why did they just skip over 6ths??)

    • @DoNoise
      @DoNoise  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is just a pitch shifter not an intelligent harmonizer so it just shifts in certain semitones (so +7 would be a perfect fifth up). Different intervals (like 1 semitone or even microtones) are available in the Toneprint editor.

    • @robsmith6443
      @robsmith6443 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DoNoise Oh wow, ok! That's much better then...was expecting something like "m3, M3" etc rather than counting semitones...it can be used as a kill-dry parallel-interval analog harmonizer though right? My idea was basically, I have a stereo delay and let the echoes come back an octave up like a virtual capo for a virtual second guitar...I thought having minor 3rds could be cool for some triad stuff though to get a kind of 7#9 effect on the repeats.

    I am waiting for mine (2 weeks to go) and I have been coming back to this video to drool :) Awesome job at showing how musical this pedal can be. Hello! First of all great video, I came through reddit. I have 2 questions: Is it possible to choose a Custom voice for the pressets or it is only possible on the 3 footprints?
    Another one is: Do you notice any latency with the pitchshifting? I have no trouble at all playing heavy riffs with the lower strings, but on the higher strings its has latency. For example: 1 semitone down works perfectly playing slayer or smashing pumpkins riffs, but if I try the intro for Sweet child o mine (same tuning) it as a very noticeable latency.
    Thank you!

    • @DoNoise
      @DoNoise  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Regular modes are not customizable, as far as I know. You can only change the custom voice on the Toneprint slots.
      All pitch shifters have latency but I don’t notice too much with the Brainwaves. If you’re using this pedal to down tune your guitar, use the Kaiser Pitch template to create a Toneprint for that. Works better that way.

      Placement is always going to depend on given sound and style; just as it's become popular to place some verbs, delays, and modulations before Drive sections, you can sometimes get desirable results placing a Octave/ Pitch after Drives, instead of the usual early in the chain.Usually, the idea is that you want to feed O/ P's as clean a signal as possible for better tracking.But clear tracking isn't everyone's bag.
      You can get some unique effects by hitting them with a distorted, or otherwise altered signal.
