ng+ should have carried all your levels over, all your learned archetypes over, and made enemy levels start off at level 70 or above when playing the ng+ hardest difficulty. I think this ng+ should have tested all the skills you learned so far and not necessarily increased mag cost or slowed down EXP gain
Should have gotten ideas from Smt5 vengeance since they released that game literally 3-4 months ago, you can either carry over nothing, carry over everything, or carry everything and enter godborn difficulty (if u unlock it First) which is basicslly what regicide was trying, and every mob is lvl 150 and ur team's lvl cap goes to 150, and therr are a few other differences into It, much better experience than regicide imo
Yes, I agree. P5 strikers did this and that simple fact made it go from being a game I enjoyed immensely to easily my favorite atlus game (second favorite now since metaphor lol). Atlus has repeatedly dropped the ball on ng+ time and time again, and I really thought they were gonna get it right this time when I saw that regicide was only available on ng+, but unfortunately they just went backwards. Fingers crossed that they’ll one day get back on track
Spoilers to be fair, they try and have u do the dragon temple dungeon earlier with receiving the stones for the lady so the pacing isn’t too bad. But also to be fair that dungeon was huge and a huge difficulty spike. But with that quest it incentivizes u to do the dungeon more days also
Locking a difficulty setting behind a completed playthorugh and one (1) boss and one (1) achievement behind an entire second playthrough was certainly one of the choices of all time. Well done, Atlus.
Dragon oneshot attack is trigered if you have repel anything on any of your characters. Even if it's from gear. To avoid just don't equip any repel gear

Great comments overall, I have the same feelings towards NG+ in general and I HATE skipping cutscenes again and just generally feeling like my time is being wasted, so this helped me decide to skip NG+ (which I would've done on Regicide otherwise). While Hard did start off feeling hard, I was absolutely blasting everything by late game, and without netdeck'ing anything there were clearly going to be some overpowered skill synergies out there. Engineering builds really was one of the fun points of the game for me, nothing beats spending tens of thousands of MAG to max an entire archetype tree just to be able to inherit one passive, and then finding out it stacked exactly as you hoped it would. There was a point in time where I stopped using non-synthesis damage abilities altogether just about, and from about level 60 onwards I was 1-rounding every enemy with very few exceptions. I never even got to see what the last boss's mechanics really were because it died so fast. Shoutout to dancer's AOE hyper ability. For me I think the game peaked in the mid to late portions; figuring out how to beat some of the tougher-seeming bosses was where the fun truly lay (the trial dragons especially had me racking my brains for strats, Heismay's agility-reducing attacks plus the Dodger ring carried me hard through quite a few fights).
If you went Magic, Prince's Heroic Slash and Royal Slash will use your magic stat if it's higher than your strength, so you're not stuck with just 4 extra turn icons
Ngl the prince should have an extreme magic attack, the game pushes you tu be the magic user since you get your fifth party memeber by the mid game and is the first magic focus character. It doesn't help that strol, hunkelberg and heismay have low magic stats early, and that you get free mp by playing mage
@@ROCKsaru1998 yeah the game pushes you magic. I think the idea is the soup hacker is the payoff doe magic and prince is the payoff for physical however the prince is way more op
For just the mc magic is only pretty much relevant midgame to endgame assuming going for soul hacker and beating pretty much beating the colosseum to get the 420 (30% wind damage boost). Also fun fact Prince does have extreme mag attacks via by synthesis but is not as strong as the severe attacks from the physical perspective. Even so by far the strongest in terms in severe magic synthesis is sadly at the endgame with eupha arch type mastery is the 500 atk weapon with synthesis turn cost reduction with overlord sash (2x synthesis damage+cost) and having 2 elements and an almighty as severe.
Magic is good and viable but is outclassed by physical since it cant crit. And so far there is just one synthesis that can crit with mag scaling tho will say it can do decent damage
Prince almost felt necessary near end game for the big damage dealing synth attacks. As an attack class for protag it felt kinda underwhelming since I was magic based. And it doesn’t have the magic boosting passives the mage classes do.
@マリー-v4p not at all needed but it is OP since it gives you an extra turn icon every turn and 4 extra once each fight so it's insane op even without damage
honestly I had the same feedback but went a little bit more. Ng+ will be just fine if they place a level restriction on the weapons. Regardless the difficulty itself was a big let down to me as it changes nothing in the fight nor gives them new skills to make the fights more challenging with the bosses and creatures being made of paper as an icing on the top. Asides from that the overworld mechanic the requirement to instakill them should be at a higher level requirement of 8 - 10 in hard and regicide. Also removing the level difference modifier can be made while buffing the stats of the enemies. Tho thats just my opinion.
Actually even in the early game, PHYS was superior if you dumped all your points in STR, you could actually kill some enemies after stunning them (the special battle start attack) and outright skip some shenanigans (Zorba even on Hard, 3 turn kill if using all WAR). I didn't use Cheese strats until later in the game cause it was getting annoying and eventually I did put it on Storyteller (when I got the dragon trials) cause it's stupid to have bosses with one shot mechanics right after I get gear that repels/nullifies elements. Some bosses I preferred to just skip the mechanics or AoE spam (you can just hit the heart in Egg Boss for example, you just have higher chance of missing). Early game is definitely the hardest on Hard due to the lack of MP generation and gold which is why I just said fuck it and beat game on Easy/Storyteller (I do not like constantly switching my class and spam kill crystals to regen MP nor use Merchant for gold). To be fair, I dumped a lot of points into LCK so I kept getting MP potions and shit to sell after midgame. I beat every other Persona and SMTVV on Normal/Hard but that's cause I rarely faced the same issues and they have way more QOL (No level scaling, All Out Attacks, Tag Attacks, Baton Pass for MP/HP Restore IIRC, Mitama grind for easy level ups and gold in SMTVV, easily transferable skills through souls in SMTVV since I don't need to waste time leveling up every damn class).
Just hoping they could overhaul ng+ and the regicide being locked away to ng+ making it a joke of a difficulty. But I highly doubt that because they're going to rerelease this game again someday.
I really wish you would unlock your Archetypes right from the Start in NG+ because with that you can at least figure out some Combinations to maybe beat the Red Dragon as early as possible. But with everything locked you have to do an almost 100% Run again. I already lost Interest by the Time i reached the 2nd Town in NG+ and after a couple of Days where i played some Ys 10 i came back and finished the Game in almost 15 hrs on Regicide. Didnt even knew that MAG for Study new Archetypes increasing so drastically since ive already finished every Archetype with every Character on my first Run.
I would say if your on PC it is worth it to download the autosave that let's you start the game on Regicide with a new game, it really helps slow down that fast power scaling that can happen and you get experience the Humanoid Louis fights as I feel they were intended

It's not as good as Persona 5. I don't know what Atlus were thinking. To not be able to have the Prince Archetype unlocked from the start? That's just a really bad decision. Locking everything until your unlock them again is also a crap move. I want to run my party with Critical Resist and COMPLETE ailment resist abilities, but those are tied to endgame Archetypes. Not transferring Stat boosts is also a major no no. In Persona games this would carry over, not here though. It's like they forgot what made NG+ fun in those.
